Time for a change........

Okay I know that you ladies are expecting cards from me but I made myself buck down and do some scrapbooking. We had family from Finland and I made it a goal to get those pics done and then some of the boys golfing. Well I got this one done of Hunter golfing and all the ones of my sister's visit from Finland. I thought I would share this one with you-Hunter's play landed right next to this tree, which was exactly in between the ball and the hole. It was kind of funny I thought. He knew how to get around it though.......... it was a good game.
So, that is all that I have for you, I spent this last weekend organizing my patterned papers and all my "goodies" so I didnt do much card making.... but I will get down to work this week. But I will share this beauty with you as well.
This is a clematis that hangs on my front porch, the amazing thing is that I do nothing to this plant. I do not prune it, feed it and as you can tell it is falling off my trellis. I need to get a MUCH bigger one and try to get the clematis to climb on it. I am in awe of this thing- the color is so awesome too. I will leave you with this....... have a wonderful evening and I will try and post some more goodies soon. I have some copic markers coming this week so I hope to use them and show you some fun stuff!

What's Up?

Well it is Monday, again I might add. I am not fond of Monday, they just mean my weekend is over and my work week is starting and I have 5 full days in front of me. At our house, we think that the work week should be Monday through Thursday and the weekend Friday-Saturday: it just makes sense doesn't it? Plus my day started when I forgot to reset my clock from when we lost power and I got up 40 minutes earlier than I needed to (and my sleep is precious- I like my sleepy time) and then I was without internet. So, for those of you who know me well enough that means I can't start work! And as good as that sounds, it means that I am that much further behind for the week.................. I was without internet until 1pm so my day was a little hectic after 1pm.
Oh but wait- you did not come here to here me whine about my Monday so I will move onto my project. I wanted to do a little something different than a card so I did this little gift card holder. It is something that I got from a website but don't recall whose (sorry) but it is a perfect little doo dad to have on hand for those last minute gift card holders. I made it from a piece of paper that was 41/2 x11 and scored it a couple times, taped the middle together and punched the hole for the card. Let me know if you want the tutorial and I will find it or email it to you. I used my Tilda with lilacs on it (shhh don't tell- I already had her colored and cut out which is sweet...... makes a project go much faster!). The cardstock is actually a wine bazill piece.
Oh and sorry it has been a week, another hectic/crazy week at work and then I had visitors from Finland (hey, Mintuu, Sari and Ari!) and I must tell- I got Magnolia's ladies! More of them! Yahoo- I am sure you'll see projects with them in the next few weeks. Take care and have a good one.

Card of Faith

Each month a group of ladies make cards of faith and I had decided I would try and do this monthly and I have not upheld that decision. Oh, I could tell you I have not had time but to tell the truth I have just been making other things. I need to make a calendar of things and committ to it but that probably won't be happening too soon- have to make time to do the calendar first! LOL! So I made this when I found this verse, I just love it and thought keep it simple- and use SU product. This is our in color: soft sky and the DSP is the one in the current mini. Then I used the criss cross card design b/c I was making a few of these since I love this design and it really doesn't take that long to do.
Oh and a SU update- SU is introducing a new line of products in July. Well I heard about them and I will get to see them tomorrow so I am excited. I think it will open SU up to new customers, maybe those that are not interested in stamping but still want to express their creative side! What is it? Well lets just think vinyl cling, home interior, and expression of oneself! You are surely going to hear more soon!
Have a great day!

That is what friends are for...........

This sweet little image is a House Mouse Stamp called Sweet Kiss. I had seen a card with it and wanted to get the stamp but could not find it. A friend found it and bought and sent to me..... was that not so sweet of her? Her name is Dawn and I appreciate it so much that I made this card to send to her. I hope that she likes it and knows how much I appreciate her finding the stamp for me. I used my copics to color it too! Then layers on river rock and teal- the patterned paper is a piece I picked up at my local scrap store that is going out of business and I didn't recall the name but thought it was so delicately sweet.
I am working on some card candy for a swap I am in- will post some for you later. HOpe you all have a wonderful weekend!

What a week!

So it is Friday evening, just thinking about relaxing and the power goes off! What? it is like 92 degree outside, this is not happening, not on Friday afternoon. Yep, we were without until Saturday afternoon. To say the least it was a hot and very busy weekend and I got no, none, nada and zip stamping done. So- instead you get to see some pictures of my rhodedendron in the front- these beauties have not really flowered since we moved in her 6years ago and this year- they are awesome. So now you say, wait, it is Thursday- what has she been doing and why doesn't she have 'stuff' for us to see today. Well, you might thinkI should but it has been another CRAZY week at work and well- I have been so tired I have not wanted to do anything- so I didn't. Please forgive me, I will work on some stuff tonight and this weekend and get back to you early week.

I will leave you with these, I do not know what they are but they are bushes/trees in my back flower bed and oh so pretty and smell nice too! If you know what they are please let me know.
Enjoy the flowers and talk to you later.

Not a Card

The challenge for me this week was to make something that was not a card. I had bought this file box last fall and loved it. It was plain white and I used my SU berry bliss to cover it. The little windows in the front, I had to remove them and then cover them and reattach after I put the brown flower paper on. I used the tilda with lilacs- YES, I just got this stamp! I did her flowers in pink. I will admit that I really struggled with the photo, trying to get it from the right angle without making it look weird. I hope you can get an idea of what it is- I think in person it turned out so sweet: it has the 3 sections in the front and then two full file areas that will fit 8.5 x11 inch paper. Added a few primas and some bling and done. I did lift Tilda a little so it looks like she is sitting in the window. Thanks for stopping in to see what I had up my sleeve this week!

Happy Everything!

Well I was thinking that I really need to post a SU set. I have been playing with all my new stamps and they are not SU. I have not gotten a new set since tart n tangy and Thoughts of Father, now I am waiting for the retired list to come out on the 15th. PLUS........ we have word there is going to be a new product introduced later this month too! I love "new" things so I am excited about that (Thanks Jen for letting me know!). So, this set is a set that I have ALWAYS just loved Polka Dots & Petals and I used some in colors from last year since I love this color combination. It is Carribbean, Rose with some some celery mixed in there. It is just a happy cheerful card I think.
I am working on another challenge, I find that they keep me moving forward, inspiring to make new things. This time I had to alter something. Well I don't know if you all remember that last fall I bought this cute little file thingy, and when I bought it I promised myself I would alter that purse first and then the thingy. Well I pulled out that file thingy today- and that has been my project. So- I will keep you posted and I want to have it done so I can enter in a challenge this week.
Tata for now!

Sweet Edwin

I placed an order for some Magnolia stamps with a group of ladies on SCS and quess what? They arrived. I ordered on Sunday and there were by Saturday from Sweden- now I find that amazing! Anyhow- this is summer edwin and he is sitting on Tilda's mure. Well as many of you know I have boys so I tend to go with the boy images but I just loved the little brick wall and had many ideas for it. So I got Edwin to sit on it. The paper is K&Co and the ribbon is SU pumpkin striped grosgrain which is wonderful stuff! I colored Edwin partially with my SU markers and then I paper pieced his shirt to match the paper, the wall is colored with copics. I don't have enough copics to do a lot with them so I kind of mix n match.

Then I thought, I have to color another Edwin and if you recall I got some High Hopes this last week as well so I mixed them up. I used the flower border and put summer Edwin sitting amongst the flowers. I have not put him on a card yet- I have to make some card candies for a pif and thought I "might" use this as one of them. I did color him with my copics though- what do you think? I am no pro but I think it is getting better- I just need to get some more colors.
You ladies have a great week and I am going to try and post a couple times this week.
