Fancy Doily

Hello everyone!  I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! It was fabulous and just like my Mother's Day weekend I want a "do over!"  Don't you?   From wonderful weather to literally spending the entire time with hubby and the kids.... it was a blast!

I will get on with my card though, it is designed for the CropStop Fancy Challenge, using a doily.  I changed mine up a bit and cut a circle out of the doily (Cheery Lynn) to stamp my image and then popped the outer doily frame up a bit for depth.  I must say this card is beautiful in person. The bottom of the card is a pink/salmon glitter paper and this card sparkles!

That is about it for me- have a wonderful week!

No skipping Birthdays!

Happy Sunday!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend, we are staying quite busy.  Heading out to my mother's for a BBQ of ribs today so this will be quick!

I actually pulled this card together this morning while preparing to go out.  Another masculine card I would say- and I am using the sketch over on skipping stones challenge this week.  The papers are G45, have had this pad and not used it so as you might be able to tell this week it got pulled out!

So everyone stay safe!

Tags, Tags, and More Tags!

Hello and welcome back again today!
I have been spending alot of time on Pinterest and looking at tags. There are so many types, vintage, fun, whimsical and bright.  I thought I would start out with some fun and bright ones!
Although, I do think that the October Afternoon paper also lends a little "vintage" feel, don't you think?

I hope you have a fantabulous weekend!  Go out and create!

Vintage Box

Hello!

Ok, so I know when you look at this photo what are you thinking?
Heidi has lost her mind, why is she showing us trinkets and whatever?

No- I had found a lady on Pinterest that got an old vintage pop crate and used watered down Gesso to paint it and then filled it with trinkets.  So I guess in a way you are right about the trinkets.    I went on a search for some old soda crates (they are hard to find!)  and was successful after spending 2 weeks trying to hook up with the guy that found me on Craigslist and traveing 40 minutes.  But I got it, I Gesso'd it and then I filled it up.  I do not know where I will hang it yet- but I am loving it.

Man- it's your birthday!

Hello!

Happy Hump Day......   I am really happy as I am off tomorrow and hoping to get some sunshine and then do some crafting.   I have been working on a few projects lately, one being some masculine birthday cards (CropStop Challenge). This one I did in black with the G45 line.   I did add a little strip of ribbon, no bows or ties as everytime I do it my DH tells me that men do not want bows/ties on their cards (or buttons....hee hee!).  So I just had to add a little elegance to it.

Have a fabulous week!

Little Boy's Toys!!!!

Hello- I am so excited to share today's project with you all. I have a friend and co-worker that became a grandma in April and I wanted to make her something to cherish, something that would last and she would find useful to have on her coffee table.

The paper is Crate Paper's Toy Box along with the chipboard embellishments that go along with the papers. I got book board from a local odds and ends store and it is from a publishing company- I covered with the DSP, sanded it and distressed with ink.   The front I personalize and put his name on it- Ryan. I thought the bottle caps were perfect nostalgic items!

Each page has an embellished/altered side and then the other side is open for photos of the sweet little guy. I did add a few little chipboard items to the free page just so they didn't look so plain.

I loved that I could pull in some vintage toys and games with this paper line. The chipboard pack has so many pieces in it and then you also get stickers that match up to them. I don't think that I even used 1/2 of the products that I had.

So we all know that Bingo is back...... and I could not resist to include it here!  And what little boy doesn't love little plastic army men?

This final page I personalized it again with a little reading card that I made on the computer and used Ryan's name.  Remember, and I might be dating myself here, but those reading cards with Dick and Jane?

Thanks for sharing in this wonderful project, I think that she truly loved it.  Heidi

Bling it..

Happy Wednesday!

Today's elegant card was made for the Cheery Lynn challenge this week (bling).  I wanted vintage meets softness and feel they met and love to be together. The doily is Cheery Lynn, the pearls are Scrap It, flowers are Prima.

Have a fabulous day!

For that special WOMEN: Glitz It!

Welcome!

Glad to have you stop on over again today.  Today's card is one I made for the Glitz challenge, honoring the women in our lives.  Now this type of card with virtually no stamping is a bit different for me again but I am loving this Kisses collection- it is so vintage and feminine!  Now that I have made all these Mother's Day cards I am not sure what I will do with all of them.

Have a great day!

A Random Day!

Happy Thursday!  Are you having a good week?  It has been unseasonably warm here in Michigan again (hot matter of fact!).  But I love it.

This last weekend I wanted to use up some scraps of paper that were laying on my work table and this is a sketch I just threw together for a thinking of you card.  Honestly, now that I am looking at it, I think that the sentiment needs to be a little something different.  What do you think?

I hope you all have a great week, maybe I will actually create and get something posted.  I have to work on my ABC Toys & Craft Challenge card- I do hope you will join us on Sunday!
