Hello everyone! We are heading into a new week and today I was able to get some crafting done in order to fulfill some design team work and participate in some challenges. I have found that I really enjoy the sketches over at Skipping Stones and so this card is one that I made. Later this week I HAVE to show you my craft table- I can't imagine how I can function in there but there is ALOT of pink on it. I just love it. So stop on back later for just pink love and in the meantime, have a great time.

PS; the paper is a sweet little MS paper pad I just bought... so cute and I will be using it for another project over the next week.

Ah- well I got card #2 done this week as well. I was feeling a little guilty and "behind" so many of the other ladies as I had not even started any of my 2012 Christmas Cards. So I went to my trusty MoJo Monday Challenge sketch and got to work. I also had the holiday papers out and if you notice today's card has the same papers as card #1- waste not want not, right? I hate to leave all those little scraps. Ok, ok....... now I can focus on Valentine cards for a bit (till I have to make 2 more Christmas cards in February).

Happy Friday! Oh yes, I am thrilled for the weekend, well I will be after a full day of work and a long drive home. But either way- looking forward to it.

This little "package" was made to hold a little stamp for a friend- I wanted to package the stamp a little special for her. The heart which unfortunately no matter how I took the picture did not come out the way I wanted is actually 3 hearts punched, folded and then glued together for a 3D heart. I just love them. Anyways, have a great weekend!

Hello- No you are not seeing things! I know I told you all that I was tired of the christmas cards and was moving on to the Valentine cards. Today over at Pixie Cottage there is a sketch challenge as well as a technique: sewing. Now I am fighting with my sewing machine so I stuck to the sketch alone. I also chose one of the new faith sentiments without an image to make an elegant wedding card. The base is a brushed silver and the heart is embossed with silver. Hello- are you all ready for some Valentine's Day Cards? Well I for one am ready to be done with Christmas cards, although I do like to stick to the reds and pinks of course. So you will be seeing these over the next few weeks. The paper here is Echo Park and the beautiful heart is from Scrapping Cottage and I will enter it in their challenge- to cover their dies with 3D embellishments (see my sweet pink heart rhinestones?) I know they were very hard to actually catch on film. This card is so pretty though- hope it inspires you. Have a great day.

Hello- I hope that you are all recovering from the holidays and looking forward to the New year. Today I finally did a little crafting after taking about 10 days off- it felt good to give my brain a rest although it was a challenge today to get going! I opted to start on my V'Day cards, I am looking forward to working on them but really looking for some sweet stamps for the occasion. So - do tell me what your favorite stamp set is that you use to create the LOVE day cards.

BAM- that is what I see when I look at this card! The sparkly glittery heart with the black cardstock is just GOR-JUS at least I think so. But then again I am all about BLING! The paper is again the Echo Park and the die cut is magnolia and it is so elegant here. The sketch on this card is Skipping Stones- come and join us!

Today's card is a sweet little number that I colored last summer and had yet to post so I figured I have not been as ambitious as I should be and crafting, I could just post it. Matter of fact this little Tilda sits on my desk and stares at me daily, just have not put her in my card box or sent her out. I honestly could not tell you alot about the card since it has been so long other than it is colored with copics. My brain has frozen as to where I even got the flowers- so with that- I bid you all good day!

Welcome to this Wednesday before Christmas! I hope it finds you all prepared for the holidays, gifts purchased, wrapped, cookies baked and holiday plans all set! I know I am super excited for the next couple of weeks as we will be spending some time with family and friends and that is what I love most!

Hello! It is another Monday and I get to go shopping today and hoping to finish up all my shopping. I can then sit down one evening to start to wrap, yep- I have not wrapped anything yet. I am so far behind this year. How are you doing?

I do not know about you all but I am so far behind on my christmas cards. I like to have them out in the mail by the first week of December and here I am on the 12th with only a handful in the mail. I just did not get a head start on them! So this week- that is what you will be seeing. And this is card #1- is this Lost and Found paper just the best? I love it; so easy to throw the cards together with coordinating prints and a few embellishments. The little stamp is a whimsy stamp (thank you to my friend Cindy who just sent them to me!)

Welcome back today! I feel like I have not posted regularly due to my hard drive crashing but I have my computer back and good to go! So I have been working on a few gifts for Christmas to give to friends and family and this is a cigar box that I thoroughly enjoyed altering, it was so much fun! I have gotten a few vintage paper pads and can't recall which one htis is for sure but is that Santa not beautiful, in a vintage way. I should have taken close snapshots of the little beads, pearls, greens and twine. I am finding that sometimes more is better! (wink!) I then sprayed the entire top with glimmer mist so it truly sparkles.
Oh and inside the box................... vintage tags! I so love making these and all the fun little embellishments you can put on them. See my jingle bell- it is MS. So this weekend I started working on some gifts that are also gift card holders. I call this a tag pouch or gift card holder and they can go in a 6x6 box for gift giving. I made this card for the Verve Diva Challenge of making a gift.

This is the card with the tags on the inside..... I think that I will be needing some more of these when I look at my list of gift cards!

Good Day! This week at Pixie Cottage our challenge is to make something that is a home decor. Not this is not something that I typically do but I thought I would give it a try this week. I combined a couple of the Pixie Cottage images( Hannah's Sled and Winter Window) and then colored them with copic markers and put them into a frame. It now sits on my mantle as I thought it turned out so sweet. I do hope that you will join us over at the challenge!

Vintage Christmas

Welcome to our last week of Christmas for ABC Toys and Crafts: Julie is giving us a break for the holidays! So without further ado- my final card for 2011 is using the wonderful Crafty Secrets set-Vintage Christmas. The bottom layer I used the christmas musical stamp on cream cardstock and then used the crimper to give it some depth. Then I used this beautiful dark red/burgundy paper and did a little tearing and distressing the edges to make it more vintage. I also used a couple of the Martha Stewart punches- the snowflake embossing border punch and the snowflake punch.

Shhhhh................ look how happy that puppy is that Santa has arrived. Boy does that bring a smile to my face and reminds me of all those fun years where my boys waited anxiously for Santa's arrival! We are making Christmas cards over on the ABC Toys and Crafts Design Blog and the designers are working with the MS Punches. I used Double Scallop and Quilt border Punches. But of course I don't want to forget my nestabilities: Snowflake and Rectangle. I stamped my Stampavie image with Tuxedo Black and then colored it with my copic markers.

Hey- and welcome back this fair Wednesday! I have been really struggling to get my posts done these last few days as my hard drive crashed this last weekend and it seems that every other computer in this house has a vendetta against me! I think that I may have used a few choice words that probably didn't settle well with them. So I apologize for missed links..... I will do my best here.

So today's card is one that I made for the Pixie Cottage Challenge this week in which I used the sketch and the "theme" was blue for boys- but I didn't have a stamp per say for that theme. But I knew as soon as I thought blue that I wanted to make this rose into a beautiful winter rose with snow on it. Oh I know- we con't see those of course but still- isn't it wonderful.

Vintage Christmas

Well yes, it is now that time of year.............. time to start my christmas cards. I know you all have probably started your cards and I am just getting started. So this is my first one, using the SU background stamp in cherry cobbler on kraft cardstock. I apologize for the coloring on the picture, my lightbulb burned out and this was the only one we had until I can get out and get a pure light one. I once again used my filligree snowflake (Cottage Cutz) to frame the 25 with the addition of some liquid pearls. I like the vintage feel of this card.

This month over at ABC Toys and Crafts we are challenging you all to make Christmas cards, perfect timing, right? I mean we all are going to be working on these until Christmas Eve so join us!

But here is the fun part, this stamp is a Stampavie EASTER stamp! Yep, for those of you who know these images probably had to look twice. I just stamped the image with Memento ink but didn't ink the easter eggs that were sitting in the bucket or next to the bucket. Instead I used my Martha Stewart branch punch to fill these areas. Of course, I colored the image with my copics (R29, E31, E21, G99, G42). To finish off I put rhinestones on the wreath and then the branches got a little liquid pearls.

Happy Sunday!

My project for today is my first holiday gift tag for this year. This is one thing that I love to do and typically I host a swap on SCS and over the last few years I have gotten so many wonderful tags. This one I made using a brand new die that I got from Cottage Cutz called filigree snowflake. The challenge this month is to use a "frame" on your project and I didn't have one of their frames but I made one with the snowflake. I just took a circle and cut out the middle to frame my sentiment. Nothing like some kraft, cherry cobbler and shimmering silver cardstock together. YUMMY I say!

I can not believe that I have not posted since Monday! What a slacker I am! (wink wink). So I had this card sitting in my posts and I figured I would go ahead and post it today for you all. It is actually a card that I made a few weeks ago with the left over papers from another card I made. I just wanted to use up the scraps and because it was pink and grey I love it. The stick pin is one that a friend sent me in a swap- it is the FIRST time I have included a pin on any of my cards. Imagine that!

ACK! Is this the cutest? Well I do like it because it is so simple and clean..... oh maybe a little scary. LOL! The moon is a big circle that I stamped with a bat and the covered the entire moon with rock candy so it shimmers. The set is Hero Arts Frightful. Happy Monday!We are showcasing Stampavie again this week, these sweet images are always fun to color. So I pulled out my copic markers and set to working on this card. I wanted it to be soft, subtle and pink of course! :)

To start I stamped my image with memento ink and then used copics (R22, R20, R00, G07,E25, E21). I then die cut it with Nestabilities Label One and then used the scallop circle for my sentiment. Added a few little adhesive pearls to give it a "dainty feel, just what every girl needs right?

Ok, so I realized nooooo post for 4 days! WHAT? I had posts here on the site but never wrote any of them up or anything. What was I thinking? So here is one of the latest Halloween cards that I did with the Echo Park papers: I kind of did it simple style but I do like how it turned out.

Hello and Happy Tuesday...... today's card I did for a new challenge that I found and their sketches are really unique I think. It is Deconstructed #22! I needed to do a couple more Halloween cards so I reached for this wonderful Echo Park paper pack- it has such fun patterns! Next I want to do a couple of simple cards with kraft cardstock since this is their base and looks so cool: maybe mix in a couple Jenni Bowlin tags! Come back and see what I do!

Happy Monday! Here I am again with the Monday post for ABC Toys and Crafts- and I am posting another fabulous (if I don't say so myself!) Halloween card. This one is a big "darker" than a few of the other ones I have been making over the last few weeks. Potions, crows, black and green versus the fun and whimsical and bright colors. But don't be scared- I think it is pretty safe. The base of this card is cream and then I have a piece of Kiwi because it just seemed to go so well with that potion paper from Martha Stewart (all of these are from her halloween pack). I inked up my edges and did a little distressing (how fun was that?). Now that I have it made you can not tell really well but the potion bottle piece is made with my new spellbinders- I will have to use it again soon so you can see the fabulous shape!

So in making some cards this week- I decided to make a handful of these cut little Halloween tag cards. Each card has 2 tags: one you can write a message on and the other has a little sentiment or embellishment of sorts- they turned out very fun and cute.

On each card I added some bling, liquid pearls or something to give it a little 3D texture. The stamp sets are Hero Arts. Remember the top pocket will accomodate a couple mini bags of candies- how fun is that?

Shakin' Halloween Style

What is up? So this last week I actually sold a handful of Halloween cards, which is a good thing since I had so many and really, what was I going to do with them all?

Anyways- I had sold a shaker card and needed another one- and here is my take on it. The paper is memory box and inside the shaker: clear long beads and then some mini cut outs of pumpkins, bats, skulls and then a couple of black cats. It is so darned cute in real person- so cute. The little girl will love it when she shakes it too- makes a nice little noise. I think that maybe I need to make some of these for Christmas! Ok, well off I go- have a great weekend!

Ok, I have to say that based on my love for gemstones, this halloween tree is the best. I do wish that you could see the colors/sparkle a bit better but take it from me- it is so sweet. Good Day- welcome again to my blog. Today's card I used a VERVE sketch along with the new coffee/tea set from VERVE. I was trying to use Jen D over at Verve as my inspiration for the Challenge. This card is a 4 1/4 x 6 inch card, fits in a legal envelope. It is a perfect card to tuck a gift card into it. Wouldn't that be a nice little gift for someone? I just love this set,you can stamp the coffee cup or the tea cup and then add the smoke coming out and/or the little decorations on the cups. So cute. Ok, off I go now........ have a great day.

Well as you have probably seen here, I have been diligent and this paper I got from my new friend Joan (We R Memory) has some really cool colors and papers in blue, purple, orange, and black. I chose this print as it was a bit subtle and thought it would be perfect for a crisscross to prevent it from being so busy- clean and fresh dont you think?

When I was up to our local scrap story the owner had made these cute little cards that had pockets in them. Basically 2 pockets, one for messages and another for goodies! So I thought I would give a little halloween twist to the card: not sure what I will do with these as I won't be handing them out (tooo much work) and well my kids aren't really into the whole idea of the card (just give em' the candy!). Scrapping Cottage Challenge #5 was to add movement to your card so as you can see I added my ghost and I put it on a little spring so it bounces. LOL!
I tried to take a picture of the ghost so you could see the spring/movement.

That is what I think of this wonderful sketch from Skipping Stone Challenge. I just adore it!I used the ghost and sentiment from the Hero Arts set and the paper is MS designer paper. I just love how it all comes together- and then there is that much wanted MS Goop Punch that came out a couple of years ago. A must to any halloweener that makes cards. :)

Welcome to another Saturday- I hope that you have a wonderful day and great weekend. I had Friday off so I was able to do a bit of crafting and this is one of my cards I created. I decided to join the Crop Stop Challenge (blocking) this week and pulled out some nice colored Basic Grey. I know it is not really fall colors or even fall themed with it all being fall now- but I just love the dainti "ness" of this paper. So pretty and coordinate with cherry cobbler it is so beautiful! I also did a little bit of distressing on the edges for the ODBD challenge. Check these challenges out- they all give away wonderful prizes too!

Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to do with these ATC cards yet but I loved making them. Soon we will start to see the color changes on the leaves. Although I love the heat, I can honestly say that the fall colors are inspiring and well beautiful. For those of you that know me well- the answer has always been NO! But this year for some reason there are so many fun vintage papers and embellishments out that I am actually loving some of the things. This paper here is Tim Holtz and I combined with Graphic 45- what could be better? I so wish that I was better at taking photos and cropping them, all the lighting exactly right because this box is so cool. It is a recylced cigar box- it was already black so that was perfect. I wanted to make something for my son for his birthday and thought this might be a nice project. Stamp N Show wanted a steampunk project, and this is mine. Kind of eclectic but my main focus was on travel and airplanes, since my son is in an aviation program. Not sure if he will use the box but.... hopefully. Here I am again- another Back To School project for ABC Design Team! I was thinking that back to school is not for kids- what about our friends that have gone back to school (college). I know a few that will be finishing up and graduating this December so I thought I would design a "college graduate" kind of card.

This one is made with K& Co Designer paper, Crafty Secrets French Mail, Memento ink. I then popped the top with 3D adhesives and added a little fall colored button.

Hello! It is Sunday and ABC Toys and Craft Challenge Day!

We are going to be making Back To School items and we would love for you to join us: kick off the school year. My kids are not young anymore so this was a challenge for me. I tried to think of things that a teacher might use- and of course saying thanks along the way!

This little combination is a clipboard covered with October Afternoon Paper. I then used the Martha Stewart Punch at the top and long the 2/3 rd mark (above it is a tape measure ribbon). The ABC are chip chatter- I have had these awhile and just wasn't sure how to use them- is this not perfect? They are set off on circle spellbinders! The card also has the October Afternoon and Martha Stewart punch- then I also used the spellbinder label 4 and circle.

Ok, Ok......... one more card with these wonderful MMI papers and another birthday card to boot! I realized when I looked in my card box last week I had like 2 birthday cards left. So I took the scraps from the last card that I had made and started piecing it out- just can't seem to want to waste any of that paper. The swirl is from Cheery Lynn designs, I am soooooo loving this die! I used spellbinders for CropStop challenge: going to have to kick it up a notch and do some more though- just got a new one! Hello and welcome to another Tuesday, almost put Monday there. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend (for those US followers). It was quite relaxing and the weather made a huge change and so we had to forgo the beach which I had hoped for. But I did get alot of crafting done which was fun.

So this card I made using some Waltzingmouse stamps for the 3 panels on the background in brown and blush colors. To keep it vintage looking I used the lace border punch and then inked the edges a bit. Added some flowers and an ODBD sentiment to finish it off.

Endless Pool

Ok, I just had to show this photo. When we were in Mexico in June we found this quaint little hacienda and spent the afternoon at their private beach, swimming and relaxing. They also had this pool and when you sat in it and looked over the water it was spectacular. This is a picture of my oldest son and I in the pool that my husband took- isn't it awesome? I love how we look like silouhettes against that beatiful cloud filled blue sky- it was such a great day it made you wish for summer forever. I used the doily background stamp from ODBD stamps as it reminded me of the hacienda with all their linens and doilies. It also lends to a girly page for my "ME" album.

Bring out those liquid pearls girls! Have you used them? I had not but then I got a couple colors and started dropping the pearls and just love the look of them. At first I had a hard time getting the droplets to form correctly but after a few practices I was happy. This card I used the white pearl and the ruby red pearls.

Hello everyone! Hey- glad you stopped by today because I am adoring this little pink card (with a splash of black)! Now the thing about this card is the designer paper, both of them I made on my own! Yep, the basic background is made with Verve and Waltzingmouse stamps. I embossed the doily so it would give the card some depth- yep, it worked! Next is the background on the nesties embossed sentiment: this is made with the same Verve set. The pink was fun but I had to add some elegance and to do that I thought it would work with the black ribbon and the little bling.

Tim Holtz Style

Over at Stamp N Show this week they are challenging us to make a project using a Tim Holtz tecnique. Well I love love that guy and all his GRANDE creativity and have tons of his product but then I wonder (after making something) what went wrong? :)I started with vanilla cardstock- I stamped the old car with versamark and heat embossed with clear powerder and then did some ink resist with honey and shabby shutter. I then stamped some random images. Now for the fun technique of etched glass. I took one of the clear fragments and sanded one side. I then stamped the arrow on it with versamark, covered with clear embossing powder and then heat embossed. Be careful, the fragments will melt (wink). When done- it appears to be etched glass! It was fun, it was simple and I can't wait to experiment more with some other stamps! Give it a try!

Happy Sunday! I am here to show you a project that I just got finished. I have had a few boxes sitting around that I bought to alter and well you know how it goes, time goes on and you work on other things and if it aint sitting on your desk it gets forgotten. (or is that just me?). So had painted the box a taupe color but I then saw those tim holzt crackle paints sitting over there. Hmmmmm.... wouldnt it be neat if I put pink over the bottom color. So that is what I did- painted it pink (worn lipstick) and then started to work. I tend to still use DSP and after I got this done I wondered if I should have left it painted. I think that it is sweet but maybe the next one- just crackled pink.
The paper is Bo bunny, the stamp: Verve.

Hello everyone! Thursday bring CropStop Challenge time! This week it is a sketch challenge and I hope that you will join us HERE. My son is heading back to college in the aviation program and I was so excited to get this plane set from Tim Holtz. I think that my son will definately enjoy this card and while it is not real fancy he has made it clear that he doesn't want anything fancy and crafty. LOL- so I really wanted to masculinize this card and craft it "down" :)

I wanted to give the card a little bit of depth and so I added some liquid pearls for the lights.

Hello Again! Glad you stopped over today, it is always fun to have visitors. I was glad to have time this weekend to create- it was quite hot outside so it gave me some time. So I spent some time working with some Cheery Lynn dies/die cuts. They truly are a blast- you should check them out. Today's card is a Sugar Nellie colored with copics- how long has it been since I pulled these out? A long time I dare say. The Cheery Lynn dies were used for the swirl and the doily. That is how I originally found Cheery Lynn- in search of a doily die and I soooo love it. I mean now I can make a doily out of any color- who would have thought? :) The tag is Verve, the flowers sizzix.

Happy Sunday! Today's card is one that was inspired by all the wonderful dies that Cheery Lynn carries. I had so much fun creating this one and could have just built on to the card over and over. All the swirls, ferns, and butterflies are so detailed. This is a bit closer photo of the card to show all the layers. I love a card that has layers and has visual depth. Now sending it is a bit more complicated but I always know the recipient will enjoy it- right?
Look at the butterfly... it is so detailed and comes out of the die quite easily. Then you can buy the inner wings to use with vellum or other colored cardstock. Then the leaves of the swirles and the fern- see all the detail? The fence and border area also Cheery Lynn.

I just love this paper pack and can't wait to get the new line that is out now- all the newsprint and number/letters. And the inspiration, love the sentiment. Hello and Happy,.... what Wednesday! Oh it is mid-week already! Glad to have you stop by! My birthday card today is made following the Waltzingmouse challenge this week. It is a pretty simple sketch and so I really wanted to "spruce" it up a little bit. So I added the hearts, the embossing and clip. The embossing folder is a Tim Holtz folder, the polka dot stamp is a WMS and the sentiment is SU.

Happy Sunday!

On Friday evening I decided to go through all my piles of designer paper and choose a few to work with. These are a couple that I chose for the Verve week 3 challenge on SCS. This sketch here is Maureen's- isn't it fun? I am keeping it short again today- have lots to get done.
