I just love the white on white cards with the embossing on them. I just think they look very elegant. So this is one that I had seen some time again- well the layered concept anyways. I embossed the lower layer with snowflakes and then swiss dots on the top layer. Then of course added some of my MS snowflakes (which I love!) Challenges:

Celebrate with a Cupcake or Giftcard!
I had seen this cupcake a couple months ago over on Claudia's blog and thought it was just so sweet but was afraid to give it a try because it looked complicated. But this weekend................ well, as you can see! And surprise- it is a gift card too! Isn't it just the cutest? I am not sure who will get it this year but I think that after all the work, it will need to be someone special. It took me at least 1.5hr to complete this, I know, alittle slow but what can I say?
So here is a close up of the top of the cupcake. When I showed it to my son he said, "Uh, why do you have flowers on the top of your cupcake?" Oh they just don't get it do they? I thought it was so pretty and then I added a little bit of stickles to make it shimmer.
I think that I am going to hide a little Christmas present inside her this year for someone special. Heidi

Vintage Travel
Hello everyone! Well it is Saturday after Thanksgiving and Woo- what a weekend. Did you fill up and eat lots of goodies? We are going on day #2 of Thanksgiving today. I can't wait- more yummy turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing! So just quickly, these cards were made with a stamp given to me by a friend of mine (thanks Faith!) because she did what so many of us do and that is buy two of them! So I promised to make a couple cards for her out of them. The one on the left is made with cherry cobbler and creams and the one on the right is made with some cute Tracy Buttler DSP. I think I like the cards, crisp and clean. Thanks for stopping on over and have a fabulous weekend!

Triple Play
Hello! Just stoppin in to post a simple project that I did. I have been busy organizing a local craft bazaar so I have honestly not done any crafting. But I thought I would make a couple tags for this weekend and wanted to keep them simple. So I decided to make it all with kraft/red/green. I am going to enter in the Verve triple play challenge as well as well as the ODBD holidays card. Keepin it short and hoping to do more crafting before the holiday!

Tobacco or tags
Last year my father in law was on a "search" for me for cigar boxes, our local cigar store gave him this pretty cool wooden box and he gave it to me. I thought it would be so pretty altered and set it aside- that was a year ago. Well I am participating in a craft show and thought that it would be a wonderful item to display my stuff in but it looked pretty rough, I wish I had a photo of it before I altered it.This is the outside of the box and along the left side it was covered with stickers so I had to strip them off but of course I couldn't get all the white off. So I took some Tim Holz distress ink and stained it and it matches the color of the box almost exactly. I then used brown satin ribbon and wrapped it around the end of the lid and also the front side of the box. If you look closely at the box there is a door along the front that opens- by putting the satin ribon on it I could hold the door shut. I didnt hide the Toro label just because it is gold and I thought it looked good and I wanted to leave some of the authentic look.
And of course, this is the inside of the box. I didn't really do a whole lot with it. Once again their were white stickers all over the lid and so I got as much off and then stained the box but still wanted to add some "vintageness" to it. I got this Tim Holz paper this weekend and it is all old vintage holiday advertisements. So I divided them up some and put them on the top to cover all the areas: I distressed the edges some and then it was done. I put a towel and some toole' on the inside and will either put cards or christmas tags in it for the craft show.Challenges:

Cash or check please..........
Hello! Glad you stopped in today.......... this is a really quick and easy project that I came up with after seeing an envelope album a few weeks ago in a store. So I made these festive envelopes and they are perfectly sized for checks or cash! AND they are fun to decorate but honestly only take a few minutes to make depending on what you want on them.
This is the little card that I slid inside so that you could put a little note to the recipient to wish them a happy holiday. If I wanted to put a gift card in here I could do that as well by making some slots in it to hold the card! Cute, huh? If you would like the measurements and directions just read a little further down:

Instructions.................
Told you I would be back to post the instructions for the above money envelop holders. Here goes:
Piece of designer paper that is 8 x 6.5 inches
Score the 8 inch side at 6.5 in
Score the 6.5 inch side at 1 3/4in, 4 3/4 in
Then at the top of the piece of paper are those two little squares- trim them out
Your paper will then look like this (minus the little circle cut out)
Before I taped any of the envelope up I wanted to have a little indent so you can pull the card/money out. So I put the sides together, slid the 1in paper punch in and set it about 1/2 of the way down and punched. If you look at the previous photos you will see what it looks like. I then put adhesive along the bot and one of the sided and closed it up.

Then you can just decorate it. I had some of that lick n stick and rolled a layer on the top so I am hoping they can just lick it and it will stick. I was going to put a little ribbon or something but figured I would keep it simple. I also rounded the little flap corners (just liked the looks). I hope this little tutorial helps and have fun with them! I think that I will make some more for the craft show.
See ya later!

It is not a card.............
I got these little frames that had to be altered a couple weeks ago and thought I would make one to partipate in a couple of challenges this week. I thought it would be fun and simple. This could be a hanging plaque or just a small frame to set on the table. I really need to find some cute holiday trinkets to add to my photos b/c this is honestly quite boring looking and it really is cute. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Quilting.....
Did you ever make one of those quilts that you put it all together and then tied it? Well I remember making several of them, one I even won a prize in a fair with it. So this week on ODBD the challenge was to make a card that was inspired by a quilt. I made it simple so you could take in the "guilt". Since I did hand sew on it I am also entering it for the ABC challenge.

Anything goes............
Today's project I did for the Bunny Zoe and LOTV challenge this week. I wanted to do something more than a card as they are also having a blog hop (they are always so much fun!). I didn't have a Christmas LOTV so I had to use a different image. The little box is one Maria's treat box that was showcased on SCS during the Holiday Blitz and it is so quick and easy once I figured it out. I thought it would be cute filled with tags too!
Have a great Friday!

Cheerful Thank You!
I know, I am all over the board with wintery, Christmas cards to this bright summery card. LOL, I guess I can't make up my mind. :) But I had these pieces of DSP out and figured I didn't want to waste them or put them in my scrap box- so I made this card. Isn't that big flower gorgeous? It was the first time I stamped and cut it and I love it, will certainly be using that again. (thank you Julee!). And well- that is it ladies!

Snowy Christmas Wishes
I have no idea what company makes this image, I got it from a class I took (and can't recall the company, guess I am not a good model for advertisement, ha ha!) and thought I would color him. The DSP is the basic grey newest pack, love the reds and greens (and blues!) in it. I matched his scarf but you can not tell very well. Little satin ribbon and a buckle and he is good to go. Have a great day! Heidi

A card of Support
You ever just think, Oh- I need to send that person a card just to let them know I am thinking of them? Well I was thinking the other day that here I make all these card and overall we (as a society) don't send as many cards and hand written notes as we used to. Isn't that sad? I mean, I LOVE to get mail that is something hand made, hand written and other than bills. :) So this card is a card that I can put in the mail to show someone I am thinking of them or that I am supporting them. I love the brightness of it- it is October Afternoon of course. And that is it for today!

Snowday Friends
Ok, this is the picture that I chose for inspiration. Now don't laugh, I saw it and it reminded me of this little image- a little bird sitting on a cup of cocoa- so I thought I would go with it for the Flourishes challenge again.
This sweet card is made with a Forever Friends image that I got from a friend, after I saw them on her blog. I just fell in love with these little guys. And who can resist a little bear and bird friend? I was giggling when I was thinking about how warm that little bird is sittingon the cup of hot cocoa................. see my little marshmallows? A little dab of liquid pearls there and on the ground for snow and it works perfect. I hope you enjoy the card this wonderful Sunday!

What? So soon?
Yepper- another fall card. This one is a bit simplier than the last one or so it appears anyways. It must be that plain blue cardstock at the top. But the blue matches so well with the blue in the Daisy D paper. Then to give the card a little different look I added the small little flowers in orange, blue and white. So pretty and elegant, threw in some greens and tada- a center piece! :) I don't send alot of fall/thanksgiving cards so I thought this would be perfect for fall birthdays.

White Wedding Day
Ah............ what do you think? All white, just layer on layer of white embossed paper. It turned out to be elegant and romantic don't you think? I did this for Simon Says Challenge.

Cause I musta' forgot! LOL- here is a nice summery card that I made a couple of weeks ago when I was practicing that modified card. Not sure modified of what..... but I liked the looks of it and made a couple different ones to have on hand. I just love the orange and teals together, don't you? I hope you enjoy it...... sorry so short but well, oh heck no excuses- just busy.

Romance and Music
Ah- is this romantic? I started this card for the Flourishes Challenge which meant that I had to start at the Cafe Boudelaire Prints sight and find something that would inspire me. It was quite a quaint spot and lots of vintage inspiration. I personally chose this item as inspiration for my card.
I just loved the vintage, romantic look of this particular item and thought of these two stamps immediately: music background and kissing couple. Kept it simple and elegant. Hope you will stop back soon!

It is fall....... the leaves must come down (and some acorns too!)
I wanted to make some fall colored/accented birthday cards and I just got my leaf nestabilities so I figured I would put it to good use. I love how the card came out- I just wish I had some editing program on my system to make it fancier and look more elegant. I mean the card is gorgeous but it doesnt look so much on the picture. The DSP is some Daisy D that someone sent to me and it is so fall"ish" . Then see my little acorns? LOL, I found them at Micheal's for thanksgiving and thought they would be pretty accents in my photos- so expect more pictures with them. :) Ok, off I go!
