Mom, I love you!
Oh my gosh.............. we have yet another cold flash through Michigan and more snow! It is all blustery out there and it looks like Christmas still. The funny thing is I have lived here all my life and I know we have at least 6 more weeks (minimally) of this crud. Oh yucky! So to cheer myself up I used another Penny Black from my friend Tammi (thank you again Tammy!) and this little guy is just too sweet. Look what he brought to his mother- what every young boy brings to his mother sometime in his youth- I hope! I remember I got dandelions and I loved them. The DP is from Bo Bunny Chabby Princess line , I do not know how that is princess but it says it so right on the back so I am goin' with it. I also used SU Barely banana and Old Olive with it- this card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 due to the size of the image. I colored my image with a variety of copics and I used my air system to do the light circles of color around him- the white looked to stark without it and my hubby likes to know I am using that system! LOL! If you do a close up of the picture, I used flower soft on just the 2 pink flowers to give it some dimension and it is too cute that way. Now if I could make them smell too! Oh and look ladies- there are 2 pieces of metal on this card, can you believe that I parted with 2 at one time? I know.... I told you I would turn over the new leaf this year.
Well have a wonderful Hump Day!

Make a WISH
HAPPY "END OF WEEKEND!" Oh that is not so nice is it? I had a good weekend, got some errands done, house cleaning, laundry, and crafting and I was thrilled. I hope you all had a good one too!
Today's card I have to thank my new friend Tammy for because she sent me the image. It is a Penny Black and who knew that PB had these awesome little boy images? I DID NOT until I saw a card that Tammy had done. I might have to break down and get some of these little cuties! I just wish I could purchase them in person- I am an instant gratification gal!
Oh - the card, okay so I colored him with all my wonderful copics and tried to make him look as fisherman"ish" as I could, lots of neutral and earthtones- love the colors. The paper, well I have to tell you that I am a paper (addict) and I have stacks and this one didn't have a label on it- but I used SU chocolate for the base and rust to mate the image and do my litte corner punch out. The grosgrain is also SU and the little wish medallion is Marcella Kay and I thought it perfectly fit. You all know that I have 2 boys and these images are very special to me..... they remind me of my kids (when they were younger, and cartoonish looking- LOL!) Is he not the sweetest?
So- go and have a fabulous week, surfing the web for all those wonderful CHA releases that we are going to be stalking the stores and web for! (evil giggle!)
Take care,
Heidi

Black Valentine
I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card that was different and yet elegant, obviously this one will not be for my hubby....... but you know, maybe you could. I got this sketch from off of SCS and changed it up a bit but sticking with SU Always stamp set. I used the black base which is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and then layered the white with birds n swirls cuttlebug folder- I thought this just made it perfect. The heart is stamped in black on white cardstock and yes- I did cut that darned thing out and then I slightly inked the edges of the card. The black eyelet lace is a MS punch but SU also has this new punch in their new catty! Yahoo! Added a little black and white ribbon- the kindness phrase and tada! What do you think- a success at making it a little different?Okay- you ladies want a chance at some Blog Candy? Claudia over at Pretty Pressings has some wonderful new Alota stamps! Go and check it out! Once you see her blog you will be back everyday, I want to grow up to be like Claudia- oh wait, she is younger than me I think!
Also check out Paula's new release of stamps and her candy!

Sweetness
Happy Day you all! The sun is shining so that is a wonderful thing for us here in Michigan- it gives us a little hope for spring in a few months, right? Or at least temperatures above zero! This little whiff of joy was sent to me and so I dug right in to work on her. I chose purple as I wanted something cheerful and I wanted to use my SU DP pack as well- it has been neglected for some time. I will preface this with- I do think that this card is somber and naked but I could not find a coordinating paper to go with this. I used SU Rose cardstock to matte the picture on. I colored her with my copics and I am happy with her but you know what I forgot and seem to keep forgetting is the white signo pen! Dang it! I added a little heart button that I found- I am really into charms and buttons now and so I am hoping to use a bunch that I have (cause remember that I am a hoarder!) LOL! Do you see my heart punch? Oh yeah- Heidi got a Martha Steward Valentine Lace punch but I tell ya- I had to work for that! I called so many stores daily and I think that the staff got to know me that when they came in they were glad my calls stopped! Hee hee........ but you know what? Who cares, I got me the punch! Well I am sorry to make this short as I have a couple meetings this evening and a couple projects to work on later. Take care and check back- OH and thank you all for your wonderful comments.

Stumped!
Hee Hee....... what did you think of that title? I just love this precious moment image and so I thought it could be used for a Valentine Card for sure, these little friends probably have crushes on one another! I used the top note that someone cut out for me and stamped the image and colored iwth my copics- pretty simple image for me b/c there is not a lot of shading to do. The paper is K&Co valentine pack (of course) and I added a little SU ribbon- and the little ribbon slide. I tell you lad
ies, not sure if you are like me but I am a hoarder- do you hoard? I mean, if I have 1 ribbon slide I have 10 packages- like what was I thinking? So I decided that need to start using these little metal embellishments- you all need to hold me to it! Saturday, January 17, 2009
Mouthwatering Colors
Do these pictures just make your mouth water or what? I just love all the color and the "funness" of all of these cards! And the best part is I didn't have to stamp one lick! Well, I guess that isn't so fun as I love to stamp but I got all these from OSW that were sent to me gosh a year ago and I had put them in a folder for use at a later date and forgotten them. I was doing some cleaning and low and behold! I knew I had to use them cause I am so darned cold here in Michigan and I needed something fun and inspiring for me. I also ran out of thank you cards- can you believe that?
The stamps are PTI sets and they are stamped in SU colors, Real Red and Pretty in pink- so I used coordinating papers with them and just designed a little difference in each of them- the ribbon is from PTI as well. So I will leave you with these fun and warm weather cards! But please- stay warm, don't let the colors fool you! LOL! Friday, January 16, 2009

Keys to my HEART
So today's card is for the Friday Sketcher Challenge and it is a card that I think that I will gie to my sweetie for Valentine's Day. As I have mentioned we are not Valentine Day people, don't exchange gifts or anything but this card is cute and so fitting for Jim. I started with a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card and the DP is from basic grey. I layered the brown DP on SU mellow moss as well as using mellow moss for the scallop matte for my main image- which I did with my nestabilities! (oh, have you seen all the new ones coming out- oh boy!). I colored Edwin with his roses with my copics using browns and greens. I know it is not Valentine colors but I think that it is a bit more masculine for a man this way. I hope you enjoy it- my sentiment I made up and printed with the computer!
Oh and I almost forgot- I have some exciting news that I will post about tomorrow! So come back and see what is going on.
Have a FAB day!

Oops- Elephant Memory
Well this started out to be a card for a challenge and then I realized that I had totally botched up the stamp BRAND so I finished the card anyways! The images are all High Hopes and I just love these jungle animals and this elephant is just tooooo sweet. I had found this paper some time ago and thought it would match well. I cut the big circle out of the front of the card and the main image is a
ctually posted on the inside with a Happy Birthday Greeting. I colored the elephant and peanuts with my copics. Now, I also have the cutest peanut brads and I could just not figure out where to put one of them so I am going to make that a project for myself over the next couple of months- this stamp, this paper and peanut brads! For the Guys
I thought I would give you all a little break from the pinks and reds that I have been posting most recently. I have really been trying to use my, toys shall I say for lack of a better word. I had started with a sizzix and then I got the cuttlebug- well my sizzix broke and so I moved up to the Big Shot which in essence does it all (well except the cooking and laundry and I am still working on that part!). LOL. Anyhow- I found a cuttlebug blog and it has given me inspiration to use my folders and dies again. If you are feeling like me- give it a try. New Year Blog Candy
I will be back later to post something else!

Dangling Heart
Oh sweet Tilda, isn't she just the cutest little thing? I actually think that this is a Christmas image but that heart was calling me to turn it into a Valentine's Day Card! giggling.......... So I did! Now, I got a sewing machine for Christmas and for those of you who know me they are laughing hysterically, probably rolling on the floor because I am soooooo not domestic in that way. I just hope to keep it working for cards alone. So I stitched
in white (sorry, it was the only color I had at the time!) my first layer! What do you think? Kind of boring? yeah- well I need practice for sure. I use K&Co Valentine paper and then added a little glitter to it to give it a little sparkle. The heart is an inkadinkadoo I think and I stamped in SU Rose Red and hung it there, popped on some dots. The ribbon is also SU Rose Red. Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Love in Bloom
Oh is this little giraffe not the cutest little giraffe you have ever seen? I mean, come on if you met him you would not be able to resist hugging him around the long neck (even if he was munching on your most prized posies!). I got this image from someone last year and the first time I did this I used flock on him and it was adorable, might even have it somewhere in my archives but can't recall. This time I thought I would make a Valentine Card but I had to use flowers on it for the Whimsy Stamp Challenge of Flower Power and I think that I got it- lots of flowers and PINK!. I colored him with my copics and the DP is once againf rom my K&CO Valentine pack and I layered with SU pretty in pink and then another brand but can't recall- it is Archivers. The pink ribbon was in the dollar bin at Mike's last fall and I love it, it is soft and ties nicely. See the charm- I am always looking for charms and that I found in the jewelry department at Mike's as well! I hope you enjoy him!Heidi
OH and OH- have you seen my BLOG CANDY list? Well you better go because I added Michelle to my list and she is having a Major Candy Attack!

What a pill!
Are these not the cutest pill bottles? I had them sitting on the counter now for like 3 weeks (may be more but who is countin except hubby!) so I thought I can't just throw them out. So I thought I would use them for a challenge- Stamp Something Challenge wants us to make a project using something new, well of course the bottles are not new but the Sprites on top and the paper is all new. So I covered the pill bottles with the DP which is a K&Co paper and I used red sticky tape to hold it or else it didn't want to hold well. I also used sticky tape to put the ribbon on, I had the ribbon hang over the edge of the rim so that it would fully cover the bottle lip. This is SU Rose Red grosgrain and it matched so well. I put a scallop on the top that was coordinating with the DP and then some sprites with pearls. The one bottle needed something so I added the pearls and it just was perfect. When I showed my husband what I did he got a smile on his face, looked them over and said they were pretty cool (but note, he will not put one on his desk to hold paperclips or anything! Go figure!). I am going to send the one to one of my staff- you're fabulous with something in it. What do you think?BLOG CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!! You Must go and see what my friend RACH is giving away- a NEW YEAR BLOG CANDY that you will not want to miss..............go- check it out HERE!

Valentine Tilda
I was honestly having so much fun making Christmas cards and still have stamps that I have not used but it was time to move on. So to get me going I decided to join the Roses on Paper sketch Challenge to give me guidance (cause you all know that a small kick in the pants of creativity is what I needed!). Anyways- this is Tilda holding a rose, it is an older stamp but still cute as ever. I used my nesties to make the scalloped oval and then took SU Real Red around the edges, coloring Tilda with copics. The background paper is my new SWEET pad from DCWV and some SU Pretty Pink. I added a couple heart buttons and some brads and there you go!I have been trying to be a bit more creative and decorating the inside of my cards as well, you'll notice a lot of ladies doing that these days and it just ads so much to the card and makes it more appealing. So here is the inside of my card and then off to the side is a little decoration I put on the envelope.
Have a great day!

Be Mine
I thought it was time to start working on some Valentine's Day Cards. I typically do not do many of these because we don't really celebrate it and so I don't really send out any cards. But this little guy from Whipper Snapper was calling my name! Isn't he the cutest? This sketch is from the Friday Sketchers Challenge- gotta love those girls for giving me the inspiration. I colored him with my copics and layered him on Pretty Pink and Rose Red. The DP is from my new K&Co paperpack that I got after Christmas 50% off. I couldn't believe it- Valentine and Easter paper pack on sale. The little brads are some in my stash that I can not remember what brand they are but there are like 20 in the pack and different patterns and sizes (soooooo cute!) . With that I hope you are still enjoying the celebration of the New Year!Heidi
