You make a difference

Hey- it is SATURDAY! Today I need to do some errands but I am also going to do a little "shopping" for a friend of mine who I owe a little holiday package to (Sue) and want to finish up some purchases. But before I head out, I wanted to show you a little card I made. I got a few new stamps this last week and had to ink them up for a couple challenges I am enjoying. This one is a sketch challenge at the little paper shop......... it was fun but definately a challenge for me to use the circles and squares together.

So go and have a great day!

Fluttering Butterflies

Hello! Well it is another Friday (woot woot!) and I have 2 cards to show you today! Once again, I was in need of some simple cards that are everyday. I pulled out this set because it has such a variety of images and is simple to make everyday cards. This card I stamped the greens with SU Celery and Old Olive, colored the butterfly with my B21 and B24 copics- shading the inner edges darker.
This card here I just used the copics R20, R32, G20 and G24 to color the butterflies, once again shading the inner butterfly darker and lightening as I went outwards.

Snowflakes

Well at least I think it was- it was one of the new release sketches over on SCS and I wanted to use the delicate paper so I chose snowflakes and gems in light aqua. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the one layer and that was the most work this card took. I think it is very sweet although I will say because it is so light it did not photo as well as I would have liked. I would still like to decorate the inside before I give it away and will probably use snowflakes of course!

Take care and have a great day!

Holiday Blessing

Happy Hump Day All!
Today's card I made using Mojo Monday sketch 110! I had fun with this one because I reached in and pulled out this designer paper and thought, "Ok, now make your card from this." So it ended up being a holiday card in a way but also a way to let someone know how thankful and blessed you are to have them in your life, which was my goal for the Sisters in Christ Challenge. It is simple and yet efficient! Thanks for stopping in today- hope to be back tomorrow!

Blog Candy X3- Oh My!

Ok, can you so YUMMY? Julie over at ABC toys and crafts is hosting BLOG CANDY and she is giving away THREE, yes I said 3 sets of Martha Steward PUnches. The offer ends tomorrow so you better hurry on over there and check it out NOW!

Just a couple challenges..........

Happy Monday- I just wanted to take a few to show you some quick and fun cards I made this last week. I was participating in some of the verve activities and used a bunch of their sketches and this is what I came up with. I have found that coloring all those images takes a LONGGGGG time and I am not making that many cards- but using smaller images and/or just adding sentiments to card is making it much easier. Plus I have found some wonderful sketches.
So I would love to hear where you all get your inspiration? A particular stamp company? A sketch? Just thinking them all up on your own? I know sometimes I get in a rut and feel like my mind is only putting out the same sketch over and over so I have a book of sketches that I pull out when I need the direction!

Oh my, I am late! I had done this card as soon as Kelly sent me this stamp and what was I thinking? I totally forgot to load it- real life sometimes just gets into my way! So here it is, this is one of the new High Hopes that Kelly has in the store: Clarabelle and Riley.
The paper is from the Basic Grey Indian Summer pack- aren't they nice colors for the fall? I love of course that they added those pinks in there too!
So I hope that we will see you participating in the October Challenge because Kelly is so generous offering ups sweet prizes! Also free shipping for another week on orders over $30. Check out all the new High Hopes remembering that these are only available through a couple stores anymore, High Hopes is not selling them directly to the consumers and Kelly was lucky to be able to obtain them.
And have a Blessed Week!

Spoil Yourself

Happy Friday all! I hope your week is going well and is coming to a nice ending........ I am hoping mine is too! So I was thinking of the weekend and the first thing I thought of was "spoiling" myself! So I pulled out my Penny Black set and got to work. I thought the paper was soothing and calming as well. I kept the card fairly simple don't you think? Add a couple colors that would help the image pop off the paper and a little border punch and done.
So where can you get this "spoiling set"? I got mine at ABC Toys and Crafts. Stop on over, Julie is having some great things going on:
1. BLOG CANDY - Fabulous tools HERE!
2. 25% off Inkadinkadoo stamps through Saturday 10/24.
Now- go and have a good weekend and SPOIL yourself!

Birthday Bones

I just had to quickly show you all my son's birthday card this year! You know when they get older it is harder to make them a card (just think- there is actually ribbon on this card!). Geesh.... I hope it didn't make him uncomfortable.......... but at least I put skeletons and a drippy gooey border on it. LOL! I thought it was appropriate and when he realized I didn't put my signature stamp on the back he was like, "uh, mom?" So I guess it was all worth it- the stamp is SU and the DSP is a glitter pack I had.

Sale: ABC Toys and Designs has 25% off all Inkadinkadoo Stamps! Plus, have you ever wanted to get published on a DT store front? Well Julie has customers of the week, which means if you use product in her store and link your viewers to her store you are eligible.

Holiday Peace

Oh my......... what do you think? I am loving this card, the paper is so yummy, the colors are scrumptious, and the sketch? Well it is so sweeeeeeeeeet! This is for Friday Sketch Challenge and I just love everything about it. The image is Tilda Jam and I thought she would be a cute little Christmas girl. The paper...... Oh yeah, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses!

Ok, and I am sorry to enable you all but I can not help myself..... is this not the cutest snowman and Angel you have ever seen? They are a couple of the new Christmas Magnolia's and are on PRE-ORDER right now at 7kids so don't forget to get yours ordered!

THEN, AS IF that is not enough- High Hope Stamps are available at 7kids as well and Tab is taking orders. So basically go to www.highhopesstamps.com and find the ones you want and then email her your order! Let her know I sent you.

Happy Monday!

I have finally gotten a chance to use one of my new stamps that I got from 7kids pre-order. I just love this little bear and robin by Gillian Roberts. I wanted this card to have a little vintage look to it so I did alot of weathering on it and smudging some extra ink. PLUS, see the fabric? I used some old cloth that I tea stained years ago and stamped some snowflakes on it. The paper is from my new Cosmo Cricket packs(Oh yeah, another favorite!). As always, my bear is inked in Memento tuxedo black and colored with copics!

I hope you all have a splended day!

Can you tell I am in the mood to make some holiday cards and gift cards? This top one could easily be used as a place setting card. It is only about 2.5 inches tall but a gift card could be attached to the inside with a little sticky. I have a little holiday wish stamped on the inside top so I can use it either way! Or if you were having company and wanted to label the holiday dishes, these little cards could sit in front of the dishes........ oh I am hosting this year and I think that I just might do that!
This one is a holiday gift card holder. I wanted to make something for my niece as I almost always purchase her a card to her favorite store. This will fit into a regular sized envelope making it easy to mail as well without being too bulky.
I hope you get some ideas with these two cards!

Blessing in my life

I wanted to make this card for a friend of mine, after it was done I just thought it was such a nice card to send to anyone. The flowers are from my cuttlebug and the branch is MS punch. I believe this was a sketch that I had used in the past and really enjoyed it. I am going to post it for the Verve Parade Challenge as well- which is a challenge to make a card of inspiration for a friend.

Sweet One

I just had to participate in the Stampin sisters in Christ Challenge this week: they wanted us to make cards that welcome little new babies. Well of course I can always use baby cards. These are made with a stamp that was given to me and I have no idea what brand they are. I pulled out some of my cute little baby paper pack papers, kept them simple though.
I made them blue and purple, kind of neutral so I can use them a little more easily. Hope you enjoy!

Holiday Tag

Hello you all...... it is Friday again. You know how much I love that day, especially around 6pm on Friday.
This week I worked on some tags that I need to make for gifts and tag swaps I am hosting over on SCS. The trees out front still do not have snow on them so I was lucky to be able to use them as props for my tags. I have not put the to/from on them yet, not sure if I will do them on the other side b/c I like the clean look of these without anything else on them.

So for these tags I used the Hero art Christmas Set, stamped it in Memento black ink and then colored with my copics, much like the cards I did in the past. But you can see how versatile these stamps are: at first I didn't think that I would use them and now I am thrilled that Julie sent them to me. I then added little rhinestones to appear as the lights on the tree. The snowflakes have tattered angel spritz on them so they sparkle nicely as well! I also used stickles on the ornament and snowman.

So- that is it for this week, I hope this gives you a little inspiration to make some tags- I LOVE making them. I think because I can make them in minutes. But have a great weekend and stop by tomorrow for more goodies!

Thankful

Oh I had to participate in the Friday Sketcher Blog Challenge this week as the sketch is so cute. I colored this sweet little Hanglar some time ago using my earth tone copic markers and it has been waiting for some DSP. I thought the ribbon which I got for $1 at Mike's some time ago was perfect coloring. I am always working on my bows though- just struggle with them. Once I figure it out I can't do it again with another type of ribbon. Ugh............. anyways, I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Verve Sketch

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday! I apologize for being missing for a few days, had a few things going on and well time got away. But I am hopefully back!

I am working on some basic everyday cards. This card actually has a Happy Birthday Sentiment on it now! The stamp set is SU Baroque Motifs and then the CB folder flowers. I like the simplicity of the card and the black and white makes it elegant. I actually made this card a bit ago for a challenge that I entered.

Please HELP me............

I do not have a card or project to show you all today- have been fighting a migraine for day 2 and I may be getting a cold too! ugh......... but now I need your assistance.

Over on SCS, Scrapbox had a competition where participants could enter to win a scrapbox award, a makeover shall we say? Well one of my friends, her name is Jilanne, entered the contest. Each person got to post why they needed the makeover and then people voted for those they felt most deserving. Well Jilanne has made it to the top 10! She is so excited.......... now, if you know Jilanne, she is so deserving of this win. She is so generous (in heart, time, talents, and gift giving) she is always willing to angel a s wap and go above and beyond for her fellow crafters. She has just won the hearts of so many of us that call her friend. So I would like to ask you if you would be willing to go and cast a vote for Jilanne? It won't take but a moment of your time......... and it will make such an impact on her. Please..........please, I would love to be able to say that I helped her win. And thank you so much for considering this request. Here is the link:

Treats for you!

Oh I just love this little box. It is one that I put together a template for one evening this week and will include the details below. The stamp of course is Pixie Heidi sitting in flowers, I wanted it to be fallish but honestly didn't have a stamp to use. So instead I thought, she could be sitting in the last flowers left but they will be fall colored! Kelly has some of the newest Pixies available for pre-order right now- they are all tooooo darned cute too! I have colored Heidi with copic markers as well. Once the box was put together I punched out the leaf but you could use any shape and then I used a transparency to make the clear see through covering. Isn't it a perfect treat box?

Details for the box:

12 x 7 1/2 piece of cardstock

Length wise you score at 1/2, 4 1/2, 6, 10, and 11 1/2

Width wise you score at 1 1/2 and 5 1/2

Then you will cut the outside score lines at the 4 1/2 and 6 inch and then the 10 and 11 1/2

Once you have creased all your score lines adhere the 1/2 in score inward. Then assemble the box.

Reminder: there is a attached lid to the box. The flaps that are actually between the 10in and 11 1/2 in score I cut them and wrapped the outside flap around it so that it was a clean box top.

I hope this helps! And have a great day!

From me to you

Hello to you all........... I know, can you believe that I have posted a 2nd one for today!? I had this card that I did for the Mojo Monday challenge and I just love this set. I needed a card to accompany a package and so I used this challenge to make this card for it. Julee always has such beautiful sketches.......... so if you ever need inspiration, check out her sketches that are available to print off.

Anyways, the set is a Verve set and the cardstock is SU and the DSP is K&Co. I then used the Martha Stewart border punch. I am off to prepare for a trip to my mother's in the morning so will keep this short and sweet for you all.

Have a great Sunday, check back tomorrow as I have the cutest little project box I made.

Rejoice

Good morning all! It is Saturday and I am REJOICING again! But this card is made for the Sisters in Christ CHallenge. Those ladies have some beautiful cards over there and this week our challenge was to make a card of the earth rejoicing. In other words, I used flowers rejoicing......... and earthly image which is one of my favorite stamps sets- Upsy Daisy from SU and then some olive and apricot. The nestabilities scallop square I used as well. Simple but I think that the message is there. Stop over and join the girls!
Have a great day....... and rejoice in it!

Petite Holiday

I am so glad that it is Friday! Only a few hours of work and then I can relax and do some fun things! What about you- doing anything fun? I want to go and see that new movie with Vince Vaugh- what is it couple resort or something! Just a no brainer movie I hope! But today's card is me getting ready for christmas. I wanted this to be simple again. I used the snowflake cuttlebug folder on the white card base. Then of course simple ovals out of my nestabilities. The ornament is one of the Hero Arts mini stamps in this set. I stamped in black, colored with my copics and then popped it up after adding some stickles. The tree branch is done using the Martha Stewart punch- pretty cute huh? I am sorry it is not closer but my camera battery died and it would not let me use the close up setting without shutting down.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Don't forget today is the LAST day that you can use the "Heidi's friends" discount code ABC15H over at ABC Toys and Crafts.

Blessed

My first Verve stamp set! I am loving this set. I actually used it this last weekend to make this card for the October Verve Weekly challenge. The papers are basic grey (Porcelain) which I thought kept with the theme of shabby........ I also did some distressing and inking the edges for the look that they were wanting.

I am hoping to get back to my usual posting, maybe a little more wording and explaination- it has just been busy but at least I do have projects to share. Take care!

Vintage Christmas

Happy Wednesday.......... another quick post as I have been in training this week for work so out of my office all day, working in the evening and then real life stuff. I had to show you these though, they are glossy ceramic ornaments that I got at Michael's. I stamped on them with stazon, let them set for 1hr and then I added to them. I colored the scarf/hat with copics and let them dry before I did anything else.

This one you can not tell but I used sparkley stickles on the snowflakes and then I let them dry overnight. I didn't even have to spray them or anything. Tied some ribbon to them and wha-la! (is that a word?). Anyways- I love how they turned out but I will tell you- the pictures do no justice for them..........
Have a great day!

Today's cards are some fun Christmas cards using the wonderful new SU set of decorations and punch! I also used the flocked paper to make the ornament on the card on the left. Both of these cards were easy to make and simple to put together. Sorry the posts are short but have alot still going on so I don't have so much time to blah blah blah to you all........... plus do you really want to hear it? LOL! I hope you get inspiration from the cards!

Spooky Fun!

I wanted to share a couple of cards that I have made for Halloween. The one on the left SU House of Haunts. I am not much of a Halloween person but I had to get this set as it is so cute....... the tree is a hoot! The card on the right uses the Sweet Treats cups and top note. They were both very fun to make and easy too!

Enjoy your Monday!

Edwin's Day!

Hello everyone!

Today's card is one that I colored a couple of weeks ago when I was working on some shading and I thought I better use it before the end of summer or at least the feeling of summer is gone. I had used alot of earth tones so I went to my basic greys and found this paper which I thought looked earthy and masculine. I also got to use my newest nestabilities as well! I love it. I know that Kelly still has a few of these Magnolia stamps left so don't miss out on getting him.

Kelly also has brand new Basic Grey stamps coming in HERE.
She is also pre-ordering High Hopes and there are only a few stores ordering Here
Also, Kelly will be doing a DT call soon- so watch if you are interested!

Christmas Surprise

Hello everyone- well it is Saturday and I am hoping that as you read this I am still sleeping in (well unless you are reading it after 12 noon and then that would be excessive wouldn't it?). This is my card for the Friday Sketch Challenge this week. The image is a Motivet and just in time for the holidays. The paper is the new Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and I am loving it!
I had to show a closer look at her face, is she not the cutest? and check out her sparkly hat! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Shabby Friday

Hello this fabulous Friday............. today I used my Crafty Secret set French Mail again. I am really loving this set because it is very versatile. I know I used it a couple weeks ago to make an elegant card and this week I have made a couple shabby/vintage birthday tags. I am always scrapping around to find a tag for a gift and I think these are sweet (with brown paper bag paper?) As you can see on the tag on the right I added a little shimmer to the tag by using my versamark and just tapping it on the card spiradically, then heat embossing it so it has a shimmery effect. Both of the cards have a little bit of stickles to give the heart and such a little shimmer as well.
Then I wanted to make a simple shabby birthday card.......... I wish it photographed a little better than this but after about 10 pictures I realized I am not a photographer (shock!) and well, it was not getting any better. So the card used the french script CB embossing folder, the French Mail stamp set for the swirlies and then I added a little bling. The sentiment is set on the Nestabilities label four.
So that is it for today: please don't forget the HEIDI's FRIEND discount code that you can use until September 10th over at ABC Toys and Crafts and get 15% off your order: the code is ABC15H.
