Sweet You!

To celebrate the sale over at 7kidscollegefund I thought I would pull out one of my wood mounted house mouses and ink him up. I just love this little fella, although lets really think about this- if you saw a little field mouse sniffing a flower would you want to put him on a card? Yikes......... but you can't resist with this little guy! I used Momento Tuxedo black ink and then my copics to color him up. I then pulled out the flower soft- I love this stuff but do not use it as often as I should. If you have not tried it- it is easy and not messy at all to use. You just use the flower soft glue first and then drop a pinch of colored flower soft on the glue, press and set for a minute and then put the excess back in the container. It give the card a great UMPH I think! I added a few little dew drops and ribbon and all done! Hope you like him.

Impress with Embossing

I just have to share this new found inspiration with you all. I have a cuttlebug and all those folders and I use them on my cards as layers and love them. But truly do not use them alot and to their fullest potential- do YOU? Well I was blurfing last week and found this blog where she uses the CB folders to be the center stage. Now how cool is that? So here is my first card that I made putting those CB folders to work, make em show for the money I spent on them! LOL. First I die cut the bulb and snowflakes with my sizzix and then quickly threw them into my snowflake folder and wha-la! Are they not awesome? (I know you are all like, uh, Heidi where have you been?) Then I embossed the base card with swiss dots and then the top piece with oh, fooey, I can't recall the name of it. But you get the idea! The greeting is SU Sincere Salutations.

I then took some of the jelly impressions to make a "mark" for the envelope. I had to die cut the impressions with sizzix die b/c none of my punches fit. But I am pleased with the outcomes.

A little Hello..........

I got this sweet shapes set in a PIF, always thought it was so cute and so I pulled it out to ink it up. I wanted to use some SU product as well for my avid SU customers and friends. This paper is from the occasions mini paper pack, base is cocoa and the base of the image is vanilla on chocolate chip. I did a little paper piercing on the image which I have never done before but I like the look of it. I cut out the butterfly and then used a little bit of stickles on it to give it a little sparkle, you know me- I am about bling and sparkle!!! LOL! Then ended it with some dew drops that matched well. The nex card is very similar, I used the same DP and the base is cocoa. I took my threading water punch and flipped the DP over and used it that way. Glittered my butterflies. I have been trying to do 2-3 cards at a time when I have all the supplies out because I find it leaves me with less scraps which I have tons of! I was going through my box and thinking will I ever use these again. I need to find something to do with them all. What do you gals do with your scraps? I do have a drawer of them..... and try to go to it when I get ready to color an image so I can try to use it up.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the US so I am off- as is my family so we are going to go and see the new Indian Jones movie and get some lunch. Hope you all have had a great weekend!

Nesties

I got Nestibilities for my birthday (thank you mom!) and I am using them in my cuttlebug but I didn't know you needed a matte so I had to wait to use them. I ended up having hubby buy a plumbers matte at Lowe's and it works! So these are the first cards I made with the true nestie (the previous post has a semi nestie!). I used a retired carstock from SU thinking I would end up messing them up a few times but low and behold I didn't mess up so I thought I would use the die cuts anyways. I tried a couple different sizes and just layered with the white. I want to try a few different versions with multiple layers so be ready for some more in the near future (hope to not bore you toooooo much!). Both of the DP are from paperpacks although I am not sure which ones. I typically just put them into my paper rack and forget them. So, I need to pay more attention as I buy more paper.

Well I have a busy day so I am sorry to say that is all that I have, just these simple cards. But I have some more for later this week- well or the weekend.

Punches are happy!

This is how happy they are- I was storing my punches in bins in my cabinet and didn't use them that much. Plus, when I needed one I had to pull them all out in search of the one that I thought I wanted. It was just not an effective storage system and led to not using my punches. So, I put some thought into it and went to my husband and asked if he could make me something to hang on the wall. Sure enough (handy isn't he?) he came up with this after I told him about some others that I had seen. Isn't she pretty, yeah, it is a girl cause she is hanging around holding my punches and well, lets face it a man is not going to do that! He will make the holder for you but not stand and hold the punches! LOL! Anyways- I am using my punches so much more now that they hand directly in front of where I do my creating. You probably can tell from the card I posted the other day- I am just loving those punches again. And, yes they are happy too! So- I had to share this with you all- I will share some fun "surprises" I got in the mail this week as well once I have finished creating with them.....................

Markers vs Copics!

I just had to share another project that I have been working on. Once again- I used my SU markers to color this precious girl and her reindeer and my aquapainter. I am so happy with the results that I have decided that I will buy more SU markers with the New Year and hold off on copics.

I will not be posting again until after Christmas but wanted to wish all you viewers and faithful friends and customers a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope that it brings much joy and health to each of you!

Bind it all...........

I promised to give you the scoop on this and I finally pulled it out, well actually it was sitting out on my desk but I was a little intimidated by it. It looks kinda scary and the little tag says do not remove unless in use to avoid any harm. So, I thought I might lose a finger or something. But I tried it and it is so fun. I seriously put a book together in minutes. I have found it is best to cover the coasters and then punch the bindings in them, they look nice and neat that way. So, I put these three little holiday books together and embellished them all very quickly for my bazaar this weekend (did I mention this to you all yet?)

Here is the first little album I put together. It has 3 coasters so 6 sides and I embellished it so that only the little photos need to be put into it now. I am thrilled with the way it turned out. I used a new pack of holiday paper from K&Co along with some of my SU colors to coordinate and a few stamps and rub ons. I am thinking that I will charge about $4 for these at the sale and I think they would make the cutest little holiday teacher/friend gifts. Plus I have a stack of coasters leftover from my big purchase!

I hope that you have enjoyed the photos, the binding system is easy and it looks really nice. I don't think that anyone would know that I put it together!

NEW, PINK and FUN!

It is the pink, Bo Bunny flexible ruler and it is definately flexible. I have used it a couple times and it is great for making wavy lines. I typically use a straight line if I use DP on my cards and now I can make a wavy line and it is kind of fun and funky! It makes for a different look and yet the lines are crisp. Plus ladies......... it is PINK, my fav color of course! So, if you've seen it and thought about purchasing it- go ahead, it is fun and you will get your money worth out of it.

Oh, and here is a card that I made using the flexible ruler. It truly just let me flex it to whatever I wanted, made a line with pencil and then cut it out. You could do the line at an angle, wavy of any type....... really the possibilities are endless! This card is artichoke, then I used our DP from SU, the new scallop circle (not sure mine is going to hold up though!)

Isn't she beautiful???

Well here is a sneak peak of the new catty!!! I got it from a lady that received hers on Friday and here I sit waiting for mine. I am crossing my fingers as there is a delivery set for tomorrow but we shall see if one is mine! Doesn't it just make you excited, drool a little? I know I am ... picture opening that catty and seeing all that new stuff. Jim doesn't get it- but I knew you all would. Sweet dreamzzzzzzz!

I went ahead today and bought the Crop A Dile- I told you all I would do it. Now, I have not used it as I didn't get home from shopping until 9:30p and I wanted to post here so I will delay my enthusiasm until tomorrow. But look at it- I just love the pink handles (of course!). I guess the only worry I have is that it is a bit scary looking to me which means that it will be a bit intriguing to my husband and boys. I can just see it, "No, take that out of your brother's mouth, it is not to pull teeth with !" Of course the real reason I would want it out of his mouth is that he is getting his slimy saliva all over my tool! But I guess I will deal with teeth pulling when it happens. Usually my tools and toys are off limit and the boys do well with that, I mean who wants to have someone see them and then say, "Oh, you play with your mother's stamping stuff." So, it is not too much of a problem at my house. Anywho- I will do a little bit of work with it later this week or this weekend and post something.
