SPOOKY!

Spooky Night!
I was so glad to get a few moments today to make some cards and with Halloween coming up I thought I would start there.  In addition to that, I went through a few of my faithful challenges to see what I could participate in.  So I chose a couple:  Really Reasonable Ribbon and Just Rite, check them out!

The colors that I chose were for the Just Rite Color Challenge: orange, purple and green as well the stamped circle and the little medallion are JR Stamps.  Who would have thought that those would be perfect Halloween colors?   Then I wanted it to be a little vintage/shabby for the RRR challenge and believe me that was a little more difficult.  But let me tell you it was a lot of fun!  Try stretching yourself this week and do something that tests you.

Have a great week too!

Cards for Gina

Ok, I had a little time to work on some cards last week and this is a sketch I found on pinterest and just LOVED it.  It is so clean and that little window although you don't see anything through it gives the card some character- don't you think?    And of course I got to use Heidi's Stars from Gina's Designs.

This little vintage/elegant card also has a fabulous Gina's Designs piece, you got it, my favorite the doilies!   I also used some satin ribbon that I scrunched along a line- love the look of this one.

Beautiful Bird Cage

Hello

My project today is one of the birdcages from Gina's Designs- is this not the sweetest? It comes in 3 pieces, the cage portion is connected at the top very easily with some string and then there are slots on the bottom to tuck into.  I painted mine, inside and out, before I put it together and would recommend it..  Then go ahead and alter to your hearts content! I love the vintage feel to this and found I can add it to the entrance table or fire place. I didn't have one, but wouldn't a little bird be cute sitting inside?

Take care and have a fabulous day!

SFYTT

I stumbled upon the Reverse Confetti Blog while checking out Amy Shefler's blog and what fun little release they just had!  Some really cute Halloween images/sentiments.  I do not have any of their sets right now but never know what will be in my next purchase.  I figured I would give their little sketch a try. Although it was over 90 degree here today- we are anticipating the weather to be in the 50-60's over the next couple days- so I thought I would work on a little Fall card.

Here is their sketch if you would like to give em a try!

End of Summer!.....

Oh how the weather has changed here in Michigan.  It is beautiful but also signs of fall are everywhere from the cool/crisp mornings to the changing leaves.  Lest we not forget the ongoing football games!  So I set to working on a last few cards reminiscent of summer.  I kind of used the same sketch for both cards but reversed them a bit.
Both cards are mad using a little October Afternoon papers (luv them!) and my Waltzingmouse Stamps (the first time I have used them!).  I will have to remember these for the spring don't you think?

Wishing you all a fabulous week!

What was today?

I wanted to make a card that is alittle different and would accomodate a gift card as well.  It is a criss cross card with a little sentiment card (simple stories) that you can select what Today Was:   the black piece sitting in the back would be ideal for attaching the gift card and the lighter piece for writing a little note to the recipient.  This card will fit into a A2 envelope too!  It was a little weird using the fall/neutral colors but I do like how it turned out.  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

You're the best!

So  this week is moving on, things are quieter around here which is good, right?  Everyone is getting back to their routine, getting a feel for classes and new responsibilities.

I have had a little time to work on projects as well. I thought while I had my October Afternoon paper out I would make a few more cards.  A very simple card but still fun and meaningful .

I hope for all you parents out there that you are adjusting as your kids go back to school!

Happy Labor Day....

The last couple weeks have been a bit busy at our house.  We got home from vacation and then went straight into senior pictures,  college visits, school registrations and then I have been transitioning into a new job at work- so I am hoping that once school is back in it will calm down a bit.  But I am going to be very sad tomorrow as my oldest will be heading back to college and my youngest will be starting his senior year (which in reality is exciting but the realization is kind of sad.)

So I told you I really liked this sketch right? Here is another card I made using it- a bit brighter (springy) and just as lovely don't you think.  I am still building up some thank you cards as I found my box empty so you may see some more soon. The paper is October Afternoon.

Happy Labor Day!
