Blocked Love

Hello- are you all feeling the love that Valentine's Day brings?
I was looking to decorate my mantle and I thought I would try buying some blocks and painting them, and then embellishing them.  The blocks were painted pink and then the layers of designer paper and sizzix cut letters.  I chose to stagger the blocks to give it a little depth.

I am linking this up to the Front Porch Party........

Praying for Love

Hello!  I know, it has been a long time since I posted.  Just working on a couple of projects that needed to get done but can't post them quite yet.  I will post the first of them on Thursday!  (so come back!).

I am entering this in ODBD Challenge: Love.  I put a little spin on this one and used pink and the word Love.  It is clearly not a Valentine card but I thought it fit the challenge still.

Valentine Tags with Gina's Designs

Good Morning all my friends: I was going to wait to post these sweet little Valentine Tags until closer to Valentine's Day but then got to thinking that if anyone wants to make them they would not have time to purchase the awesome laser dies.  So here they are and you can get the sweet laser cuts from Gina's Designs.

This tag has a laser cut heart that I used heat embossing and this beautiful sparkly red embossing powerder, then added a little rose and some bling.

This one here has a dove from the Build a Romance Layout set.  And below all the pieces came from the same set, now that I am looking at all my pieces.  The Romance Sentiment set also has some beautiful laser cuts to use on layouts or cards.

The one heart here is heat embossed with glittery red embossing powder and the other has beautiful red glitter.  You can imagine what my work area looked like when I completed these- but I honestly did not care, it was awesomely sparkly!

You will love the laser die cuts and you have a chance to win a bunch of these here on my blog.  Check it out HERE.

KIS Card..........

Happy Friday!!!

I got home from work today and really wanted to make a very simple Valentine card, something that was cute and came together very easily and quick.   I so love the 3D hearts- made using the SU heart punch, folding the die cuts in half and glueing them together. I used 3 hearts on this one but you can certainly add more and it just gets fuller.  I know, not ingenious but simple and fits the bill for me.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Perpetual Calendar Day!!!!! This is Beautiful.

Happy Sunday my friends!  Today I would like to share with you a really fun project and beautiful gift all in one.  Gina, over at Gina's Designs sent me this perpetual calendar and so I spent time this last week putting it all together and I am in awe (well not of myself, but of the simplicity of the project) of how it turned out.  I have seen a variety of these calendars and have even tried a few of them and overall this has been the easiest for me to put together AND decorate.

This photo here is from the left and the one below is from the right.  I added quite a few laser cuts from Gina's Designs and will list them at the bottom so you can easily find them.  These are just beautiful and I left them all natural because I felt it fit my project the best.  But I have been working with this product now a week or so and I tell you- you can do anything with it.  (as you will see, coming up in the next few weeks!).

The picture below is the Month, Day and then some of the days pulled out and layed so you can see them.  It was not really hard to decorate these- even though they have the detailed edge you can get the design as a file to print out but I fuzzy cut all of mine!  ACK, I know- it went so fast and I am thrilled with the way they all turned out.  Now if you are a perfectionist, maybe not- but I like the natural look and this was such a wonderfully easy project to make.

I am going to show you a few photos (quickly) of how easy it was to put this little box together.  It litterally took me no more than 8-10 minutes to put it together with just 2 hands.  First I covered all my pieces so they were ready to be assembled.

I then set the pieces next to one another and started with the back piece and the bottom, moving to the  R side: I used a clear E6000 glue on each of the little tabs, slid it together and in 30 seconds I was ready to move on to the next piece.

Here is where I put both of the dividers in at one time and made sure they were in straight and then moved onto the last piece.  There was enough time to wiggle them into their perspective slots on the last piece and WA-LA.....  Bob's your uncle!   It was done, and I had done it myself!  LOL.
I do hope that if you are looking to make a perpetual calendar you will try this one- they are so beautiful and easy to do.  So here are the details!

I am glad you all came by today! I finally got my candy ready to post for all of my viewers to win.  Gina was so kind to send this pile of "goodies" and someone is going to be very happy when it arrives to you.

So I was thinking that I would divide the goodies up to spread the wealth and get these wonderful dies into as many hands as possible but then I remember how I felt when I got my bag of die cuts. So I am going to give the entire loot out to one lucky person.  Here is a better picture of what is in the prize:

So what do you need to do to win this fabulous prize?

1. Post a comment and tell me what theme/type of chipboards you like the most
2. If you have a blog- if you would not mind, post a photo of my blog candy and a link so others can learn about Gina's Designs.  (if you do not have a blog- just complete step 1 and then share this with friends via email or word of mouth)
3. This blog candy will be open until 1/31/12 with winner posted on 2/1/13.

With that, good luck and thanks for joining and sharing in this candy!

Chipboard Adventure............

Today is my first Gina's Design project since joining the team.  When I got all those wonderful packages of laser cut chipboard I had so many wonderful ideas going through my head and this weekend was the first I got to sit down and play.  So I took a canvas board and painted it with crackle pain in antique linen, once it was dry I stamped french script over it in black, now I wonder what it might have looked like if I had done it in a brown....  maybe next time.   Then I set to choosing some chipboard:  the birdcage is painted with shabby shutter crackle paint and at first I wanted to use a bird but this butterfly was just calling my name. So I spritzed it with some golden paint, and then a couple of sprockets/steampunk spritzed and I was good to go.  Added some paper and ribbon and flowers.  I am thrilled with the way it came out and think it will look so sweet on a wall- but for now I tried it on a frame.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will stop back tomorrow for my BLOG CANDY!
