Welcome to Gina's Designs Blog Hop !!!!
Since April 15-22 is World Creativity and Innovations Week we have decided to host a blog hop in hopes of inspiring our viewers and customers to create a project using products or techniques that you have not used before. In keeping with this theme each Gina's Designs team member will be unveiling a project that we have created that is a little outside our comfort zone. We would love for you to stop over to each design team member to see the fabulous projects and techniques and comment to enter to win prizes.
So my project is a mixed media project. I initially started out making a Steampunk project but then my mind went astray. This was a really fun project and it definately gave me exposure to some new mediums and now I just want to pull out more canvas and create..... that is after I find the perfect frame for this one. I started with 2 mediums Snow-tex and a handmade medium mixture of powder, white paint and modge podge. Both gave me a little different texture but also allowed me to adhere my pieces together.
So this first close up allows you to see not only the sprockets but the texture. I used some gauze mixed with the mediums and it all dries very bumpy.
Here I used the medium mixed with beads and then used it to attach the pieces. The mediums both have a adhesive component so it was perfect as a combined product. And a close up of the flowers mixed with the feathers, doily, and butterfly.
I do hope that you found this canvas inspiring and if you decide to accept our challenge, post your project in the comments and I will come and visit you! Otherwise, be sure to post a comment here to be entered to win my PRIZE of a $10 gift certificate to Gina's Designs.
