Birds in a Cage............

Ah- another Thursday over at CropStop and our challenge this week is to make a project with a bird or birdcage. I can tell you this is my FIRST card using a birdcage and I LOVE it! It was alot of fun to do and I think that I could just keep making these. I found it ended up being very vintage looking.

So I started with a paper pack that I had in my stash and chose 3 coordinating colors in neutrals with a splash of blue. The bird cage was painted, distressed and then modge podge put over the top with a little "dash" of glitter in the corner. The bird, well that little bird did not come out the way I imagined but I did use a little bit of liquid pearls and some distress ink.

This is a close up of my flowers: with a splash of glitter glue and pearls! I hope you will join us this week! And don't forget you can get 10% off at CropStop with this coupon code CTHS-01

Enabling list: Tim Holtz Alterations, Claudine Hellmuth Sable Paint, Liquid Pearls (titanium and ruby red), Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Darice Petals Embossing Folder

Peace

Happy Tuesday! I have been neglecting a few of my routine challenges that I enjoy joining so this week I challenged myself to get a few done. I got to spend some time browsing my challenges AND actually making the cards. So this one I made using the stamping in time paper piercing requisite and then the ODBD Sketch 58. The stamp is a ODBD. And as you can see, I paper pierced ODBD Stamp in Time challenge as it just looked so good the other day that I had to use it again.

Our Daily Bread....... Piercing

Today's card is made for the Stamping In Time #33 Challenge which was to use paper piercing on your work. Have you done this in awhile? I had not and forget how it just adds to the image and isn't hard to do and doesn't take time at all. The DSP is basic grey, SU cardstock and ribbon and the sentiment is ODBD.

Spring Chicks..............

Well here I am again with another Spring card for the ABC DT Challenge. This is a bit different for me because there is no stamping or coloring on this card. Instead all I did was pull out my Graphic45 Springtime and use some of the little cards in it. So essentially the image card and paper are all one sheet! How simple is that? This months challenge over at ABC DT Challenge is done but check out the winners and see what is upcoming for May. We hope you will join us for the change to win a gift certificate!

Candy Bouquet

A Bouquet of what? I was at a baby shower last weekend and the theme was Candyland and these were on each of the tables. I couldn't help to think that this would make a fabulous Easter project. So this is what I worked on this weekend! (one of a couple things!) I made this to take to work this week for our staff meeting- my staff seem to enjoy candy so I picked some of their favorites and put them into the bouquet- isn't it the yummiest? To do this all I did was buy the green foam and put a block in the tin: then each of the candies is hot glued (carefully) to a floral spike at different lengths. You can see that I did take and put a couple bags of skittle or M&M on some stakes. It was a great little project that kids would definately enjoy.

Have a good week! See you tomorrow with my next ABC DT Easter/Spring Challenge. Are you playing? Are you making Easter cards? If you are- enter them in the challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate!

CropStop Vintage!

Hello everyone! This week's challenge over at CropStop Challenge is "Vintage"! I would say that a year ago I wouldn't have known where to start with creating anything vintage. Now I just love it. Whether it is vintage as in 1960's or vintage as in shabby chic. Both are so much fun. I chose on this one to go with vintage 60's using the October Afternoon DSP. Again I was able to use a handful of the designs and they just blended so well.

And what else? Oh yeah,.......... spellbinders!!!! Don't forget that April is Spellbinder's month and we are encouraging you all to pull them out and use them. On this card I used 2 different circles, then the curved rectangles and the newest doily accents. I love using the different shapes together, think it adds to the vintage "ness".

Fun Compositions!

Hellow and welcome back! I really wanted to make some fun things and this is the first thing that I thought of. I needed some for some events/work so pulled out the plain composition books and went to work. This one I actually used 2 designed papers that were in my scrap box! Oh how I love when I can do that- and I am loving these colors together as they remind me of spring, hence I am submitting for the Verve Diva Challenge. The sentiment and the flowers are VERVE. Other challenges: Simon Says Stamp and Show: anything but a card.

Spring Memories

Good Morning! Welcome to another Monday at the ABC Design Team Challenge. We are focusing on Easter and/or Spring cards for April. I hope that as you are making those wonderful spring cards you will join us, you could even win a gift certificate! One of my biggest challenges is figuring out which sketch to use. I have a book of sketches from some of the sites that I participate in and or cards that I have seen and really like their uniqueness. So this is a little one that I took inspiration but did not capture it exactly (also like to add a little twist of my own!). So it is simple but this Graphic45 Springtime paper is pretty easy to make any card look like spring, don't you think? I was able to use 4 of the different designs which I love being able to do. The flowers are from Wild Orchid, I placed my very first order and these are gorgeous! Of course I was able to use a few of my nestabilities, hoping later this week to pull out the newest ones and give them a try! That is it for today- hope you will join us over at ABC Design Team Challenge- would love to see the spring and Easter cards.

I am also going to submit this for the Verve Color Me Spring Challenge!

Lets Get Started!

Alright- are you ready for spring? What about making those Easter or Spring Cards? Well if you are up to a challenge............. join us on ABC toys and crafts to make an Easter or Spring card this month. And what could be sweeter than this little Penny Johnson bunny/chick? I started this card with the graphic45 springtime paper, have you seen this? It is gorgeous paper! I stamped the image with memento tuxedo black and colored it with copic markers and that was alot of fun since I have not been doing this alot! I just realized that you can not see the little sprig of jewels that are in there with the leaves and rose. This card is very elegant! I also used nestabilities label four and label 10. The image is a Penny Johnson, which is out of stock but it will be back as it is a perfect one!
