Blue Posey

Good Day! Well today is not so nice outside, rainy. Yesterday it was 84 degree! Crazy weather..... so I am sticking with flowery fun cards to keep me cheerful! This card is made with Inspired by Nature, a set that at first I was not sure I would much but it is so clean and crisp and makes some really quick cards. AS you will notice there is no sentiment on it and that is because I am not sure what I will use it for but it could be Mother's Day, Birthday, Thank you...............
Ok, I am off to run errands. Talk to you later!

Challenges:
abc challenge: sparkle
Flutterby Wednesday: wings

Posey Day

Good Day!
This card is one that I made using the Verve weekly sketch along with the color challenge for this week. I chose this color scheme because I thought it was very different and more of a challenge for me because I would typically not use these colors of gray and yellow. Of course, I made it into a Mother's Day card because it is cheerful and fun. If you want to participate in the challenge, check it out on SCS.

Quilted elegance

I know you are saying where is the quilting, the stitching- LOL, I forgot it. Can you believe it? My intentions were to stitch around all the squares and then I got the card together and went, what the heck? This is aother of the cards that I made over the weekend using my BG cardstock and I stuck with the olive and burgunday color scheme. I just love the cleaness of the card and because there are all the layers the card is very sturdy. What do you think?

Mother's Day 2.......

I told you all that I would be focusing on Mother's Day cards............. and here is day 2. I am having a wonderful time making these Mother's Day cards and I think it is because I get to use flowers, bling, pink, and just be creative. I was laughing and telling my friend that my mother might get a couple this year because I will have so many. But I have a few that I am hoping to sell as I have had a couple requests. Lets hope they enjoy them as much as I do! This sketch is one that I saw last week, wrote it down but never did it (and didn't write down which challenge) but really wanted to try it. I liked the way it had the front tilted although I must say that proved a challenge for me: I had to really think awhile before starting. I decided to put the sentiment on the front and because of the size I had to do a little improv and add the flowers and speckles, which I actually like.
Ok, that is it for the day- be back for Day 3 tomorrow!

Friends and Cherries

Today's Card features the little sitting Tilda in Cherry Dress coloredwith my copic markers (which I must say I need to get more of- they are too addicting aren't they?).

My paper is from the little girls stack from DCWV, I remember when I purchased this pack I loved the colors but really wondered if I would use them because they are girlie. I laugh because I always think I will make all these masculine cards and what do you see? Girlie cards! Ha- but it is just lots of fun to make them. So I am going to challenge myself NEXT week to make 2 masculine cards.

Ok, then to be honest with you I got the card done and thought it was bare- so I added the swirl made with just vellum. I didn't want to take away from the paper but it just needed a little something. I like the swirl from Sizzix but I find it difficult to work with. If you have a swirl die cut that you use and enjoy- post some links to your cards so I can see them- I would love to use them more.

Making a Masterpiece

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are all having a good start to your week and getting lots of crafting and blurfing done! I apologize for the "lightness" of this photo but I just could not get this one to come out vibrant, not sure if it is the lighting or the softness of the papers.

Last night I pulled out this little sweet Tilda in the rain from the new Butterflies collection that I got from 7kidscollegefund because I had yet to expose it to some ink! Imagine that...... so I stamped her with Momento tuxedo black on Neenah cardstock and then colored her with my copic markers. I really only used about 4-6 colors (R20 R22 Y21 Y26 E31 and E33) which matched with the lovely designer paper that is from Basic Grey Two Scoops line. The image is matted on the Spellbinder Nestabilities Inverted Circle die which I used SU So Saffron. The large eyelet and the grosgrain are also SU and the little drops are dew drops.

Have a great day!

Springtime Thoughts

Oh my- hello ladies, I hope all is well with you. My card for today is made with hopes of Spring coming soon- all over, not just those of you in the South and West coasts. It is still so darned cold here in Michigan.

The card is actually a tent card- it still measures the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 but the actual base is smaller and the image extends beyond the base. The image is a CC design from the Hunny Bunny set that I just got from Kelly over at KLStampinNScrapping, isn't he the cutest? I masked it with the High Hopes flower background as well. The base is SU barely banana and the DSP is from K&Co paper pack that I got at Micheal's after Christmas. The image is layered using one of the nesties, (thanks Cheryl!) . Happy Thoughts is from that very set from SU: the brad is DCWV spring set.

So- did you notice the flowers in the back? I used the flower soft on them to make them pop- this stuff is so fun and easy to use. I know you are thinking (if you've not used it) sure Heidi, just like glitter it will be all over. No, really it is not! Just add a little glue, sprinkle the flower soft, tap it down and then tap the rest off back into the jar and done! It doesn't get smooshed either! It is a must. Then of course, the stickles............. a staple in every crafters box.

Have a great weekend!

BLOG CANDY ALERT: You need to go and check out the blog candy on Claudia's blog- she is giving away 6 groups of Magnolia Stamps! Yes- 6 people will win. Check it out HERE.

Nice Sweet Cherries

Oh boy, another new stamp from Magnolia and I had to use it, she is such a sweet little girl and those little cherries are just irrisistable. Once again, I thought I would participate in another challenge this week and so there is a new challenge site called Magnolia Down Under and it is hosted by Kellie. The challenge indicated you must:

Include a yellow ribbon
Has to be a Tilda image
Has to have at least 1 flower

So I thought what is better than cherries, Tilda and flower? I inked her up and set her on that bench, it is not really a bench it is the dock by Magnolia and I just left the water ripples off of it and then I left room to set her on a little red cushion. The paper is SU DP which I have just opened! I told you all that I was a hoarder............ I tell you the truth! That paper is retired. LOL!

Well there are a couple gals with some sweet blog candy today as well:

Easter Blessings

I just got my new CC Designs stamps from Kelly over at KLStampinNScrappin and had to ink them up. I thought that I would get myself into the "mood" of doing a challenge since it has been soooooo long since I had done one. So I popped over to the Cute Card Thursday Challenge and saw Katharina's sketch and knew I had to give it a try.

I inked the little CC design image with Tuxedo black and colored it with my copics. I tell you these are quick and easy images to color. The CP is a variety of papers; most of which are K&Co papers and then some SU barely banana, pink piroutte and bashful blue.

I have to say the card is cuter in person, for some reason the lighting just would not cooperate with me today. I hope you enjoy it though!

Free ridin'

Todays card is made with one of my new Unity Stamps, as soon as I saw this stamp I knew I had to have it b/c it is sooooo masculine. I am always on the look out for cool masculine stamps and this one hit the spot.

I stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I used black, white and brocade blue from SU to make the card and embossed with one of the CB folders, I thought it made it look a bit like that nice soft leather.

That is it for today- have a good one.

Cheers 007

Katharina was having a design team call and I thought I would join it. I just got this WOJ Charlie 007 from Bizzy Becs and I just love him. For one, my hubby is an avid Bond Fanatic, we have all the Bond movies, we see them the day of release, have the books of all the gadgets, etc..... so when I saw this stamp I had to have it.

We had to follow this sketch which I really liked. I went with black and white because I wanted it to be elegant. The paper is from a DCWV paper pack. I know I will use this sketch over and over.

Don't forget about my blog candy, will be back tomorrow with the winner.

Fabulous You!

Stamps: SU Tart N Tangy, Absolutely fabulous
DP: SU rasberry tart
Cardstock: Pink Piroquet, Coral, real red, Kiwi kiss

Hello everyone. This is a card that I put together for a class I am teaching. I absolutely love this paper and it was good b/c I never use my cameo coral cardstock and this really let me bring it out and put it to use. Overall, this card is just a sweet cheerful pick "you up" kind of card and you can always use them. I hope the gals at the class enjoy it.

Sorry it is short today but busy week out here in California.

Cupcakes and Birthdays

It is another NEW Tilda from KLStampinNScrappin along with the BG cupcake paper. This is a great paper pack because it has great birthday papers but many are very versatile and can be used for other things. The magnolia's are 10% off so go and check them out- and take a look at the new magnolias for Easter- they are too darned cute that you'll want them all~!

I colored Tilda with copics along with a couple of balloons, which I cut out and popped up to give it a little dimension. The birthday sentiment is from one of my Stampin Up sets.

Wormy Day!

Are these little worms not the cutest? I just got them from Unity stamps this last week and since they are so cute I wanted to make the cards bright and cheerful so I chose a nice green and pink. I mean, not that I have seen a pink worm but I might add that I would RATHER see a pink worm than a green one. What about you?

The reality is that I was looking for a card the other day that was more of a "just a note" card and I didn't have any left. So I figured I would start with these little guys and of course they didn't take long to make, actually less than 3 min to color them. LOL. My papers are from one of the DCWV cardstock packs.

I hope that seeing these will just make you smile today, nothing fancy but bright, cheerful and fun. Have a splendid day!

Sweet Puppy Love

I got my new Magnolia's from KLStampinNScrappin Store and I had to put them to use, is this not the sweetest Tilda with her puppy? I just fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. So I inked her up and used my nesties to layer her- around the edges of my scallops I used the white signo gell pen to give it a little extra. I colored Tilda with my copics as well, I can't tell you how much I just love using those darned markers- who would have thought? The flowers are primas and I used little gemstones in the center (bling em!), added a little SU grosgrain and sweetness. Oh and I even stitched the coordinating paper.

I then thought I would go ahead and decorate the inside, I have been wanting to try and sell some of my cards because if I am making 5-8/week I don't know what else to do with them. What do you all do with yours? Don't forget Magnolia stamps are always 10% off over at KLSNS store AND she has Easter stamps to preorder right now! Plus, if you order $75 worth of product you will get free shipping using code MarchMad.

Ok- you have to come back Monday or Tuesday as I am going to post my Birthday Blog Candy! I figure my birthday is March 14th and you all deserve a chance to win something sweet (I hope you think so anyways!)

Safari Friends

This is one of my Little C's stamps that I got- it is a High Hopes and I used the giraffe which is also a High Hopes. I stamped the hiker and then masked him to add the giraffes. I have to tell you, the color on here is not that good to me- but I had my hubby do some research for me to come up with the colors for the giraffe. Did you realize that giraffe's legs are actually much lighter than their bodies? You would not know from my card as I didn't really have a color to blend in so I was safe. The paper is Rusty Pickle Holiday Stripe (I know you are amazed that I even know that- but it helps when they put it clearly on the back of the paper!) My base is SU mustard and the image is matted on Hunter green. I used a little twine and some brads to finish it off. The twigs are from the MS punch.

Don't forget Little C's sale, it ends today. It is for 35% off with code BDay36.

Sweet NESS (and a sale!)

Okay, have you noticed a trend in my postings? yep, they all have sweet in them because I am just loving this BG bittersweet paper. I matched it up with a little BG textured cardstock on this card and it works well. The stamp set is Sweet Treats by CC Designs and this is the only set I own but love so many of those little guys. You can purchase CC designs at Little C's too and they are having a sale starting today and going through Saturday!! I colored this little cuddly teddy with my copics and of course he is eating sweet ice cream that I had to color pink. Oh man, I should have added a little liquid applique to make it 3D- I will go back and do that now! Geesh- you know, are you like me, I do the card and stare at it- then a bit later think, "Oh I should have done that!" I am always going and changing my cards.

Okay, gotta run, have a great day! Don't forget the wonderful sale over at Little C's either- 35% off today through Saturday! It is in celebration of Jen's birthday: the code is BDay36. Go and getcha something sweet!

Berry Sweet!

Happy Friday!
Today's card is a Berry sweet card I think and when I showed my husband he said to me, "berry much? don't you girls ever grow up?" lol- of course my response was what for?
It is a house mouse image and with the strawberries it reminded me of spring and then I wanted to use the pinks. Actually what I wanted was to experiment coloring the strawberries, shading them. If you look close I then added a little laguer. The DP is DCWV paperpack and layered with SU celery and pretty in pink. I even stitched it with my sewing machine- that was a trip. I used SU grosgrain to finish it off.
I have some good news to share with you all this weekend. So I will be back Sat or Sun to share some new things going on with me!
Have a good one!

Dangling Heart

Oh sweet Tilda, isn't she just the cutest little thing? I actually think that this is a Christmas image but that heart was calling me to turn it into a Valentine's Day Card! giggling.......... So I did! Now, I got a sewing machine for Christmas and for those of you who know me they are laughing hysterically, probably rolling on the floor because I am soooooo not domestic in that way. I just hope to keep it working for cards alone. So I stitched in white (sorry, it was the only color I had at the time!) my first layer! What do you think? Kind of boring? yeah- well I need practice for sure. I use K&Co Valentine paper and then added a little glitter to it to give it a little sparkle. The heart is an inkadinkadoo I think and I stamped in SU Rose Red and hung it there, popped on some dots. The ribbon is also SU Rose Red.
