Mercy

Hello- this is an additional posting for today because I have entered yet another challenge. This last weekend I spent a great deal of time going through my system and organizing my challenges and I am hopeful that I will be able to participate in more of them IF I can keep them organized. I need to get into a rhythm and if you ladies do daily challenges I would love to hear your advise on how you keep up. I work full time but like to do these.............. so any thoughts would be appreciate. Anyways- this is the Mercy Challenge and what is nice is that it is a very simple challenge this week but I got to make the sentiment the focus of my card.
Ok, have a wonderful day now!

Sending some LUV

Is he not the sweetest bear? His name is Shy Bear and I got this image from a friend and I know he came from I break for stamps because I saw him over there and shared this with some friends and she bought one! Thanks Jackie! Anyways- I had to go ahead and color him and get him onto some designer paper this weekend. The paper is the rest of my Bo Bunny that I used earlier this week on my Pixie card (sunday post). Now it is gone I do believe.......... which makes me feel good b/c I have been trying to use up some of my stash of scraps. So this is being entered in the Papertake CHallenge for the sketch and the fact that I used an animal it will qualify for the Stamp Something Challenge as well.

Pixie Paper Clip Card

Hello everyone and I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. I always love early Sunday morning and then into the afternoon but as it grows to be Sunday evening I am saddened, that I have to return to work the following morning! So I try to make the most of my Saturday and Sunday- as I am sure you all do as well.

Today's little card is one that I found while I was re-organizing and putting my stamping area back together. So I thought I would put it to use vs putting it in a pile somewhere and it worked just heavenly for this little pixie Greta. The paper is Bo Bunny- some left over from another project that I wanted to sue up- some SU grosgrain and the paper clip is from Making Memories I do believe. I love to make these cards and send them to my friends and staff: it is like a card and gift all in one don't you think? I love paperclips so this is a good one for me.

Ok, now everyone off to do some fabulous crafting and enjoy your Sunday! Don't forget that Kelly has free shipping on orders over $50 at KLSNS through tomorrow!

New Beginnings

I hope you are all doing well today. I wanted to post this quick little card that I did for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge "new beginnings". I do not have any baby cards on hand and don't anticipate needing one but I just got this cute little stamp of these little booties and thought it would be perfect. The paper is from one of my little DCWV paper packs. The sentiment is actually a partial of one of the SU ones that you use with the scallop circles- I only used a part of it and posted with the oval scallop. A simple card.

I have a busy day- need to print a bunch of photos and do some scrapbooking before I lose the pictures again! So off I go.

reminder: abc toys and crafts discount code of ABC15H and you'll get 15% off your total (of regular prices).

HI!

Today's card is a little different than I am used to making b/c it has barely any coloring on it and still makes a statement. I did start with the little hedgehog from the Penny Black Set Bubbly. I colored him and the little ladybug with my copic markers. I always find these smaller images to be a little more difficult to use and this is one of the ideas that were rattling around in my head. Just a simple HI with the image still the focus. The letter H is a Hero Arts letter for stamping that I covered with paper from the Basic Grey Bittersweet line. The letter i well I had to improvise on that one because I wanted it smaller but still with the same shapes- so I doodled it. The little tag is one I made to go with the card, I love all the fun tags I am seeing and plan to make many more!
I also wanted to share a "heidi" special over on ABC Toys and Crafts. You can get 15% off the regular price of your entire order by using the promotional code ABC15H through September 30th. Yes- that is 15% off your entire order and you can use it as many times as you would like! Oh- and do share this code with your friends......... I would love to see how much sales are generated with the code!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

More Inspiration!

I hope you are all having a fabulous start to your week- this is a busy week for me and I honestly have not crafted in at least 5 days- I am definately having withdrawals. We have my craft room done- but now I am trying to put everything in its place (over and over again) and have not been able to see the bottom of the pile. I am hoping in the next day or two. So in the meantime, I am going to show you these cards made for inspiration. They are elegant and simple, two things that are nice to be able to do in a pinch.

I am just loving all these wonderful sentiments and have a handful of friends and family that really love getting them to give away and to receive. I hope you all enjoy them.

Have a good week! Heidi

Wheelbarrow of Happiness

So I had to ink up Leisel with her wheelbarrow that I also got over at KLSNS. I just love these new pixie girls from CC Designs. I think because they are little pixies and they do have a face, the perfect solution for those that struggle with the faceless kids (which I do not!). Lets face is, one of thems name is Heidi so I have to love them and it is easy!

This card is stamped with memento so I can use the copics without any trouble, and for those that frequent me, know I use neenah paper as well. The paper is some from Basic Grey June Bug pad again. This is a wonderfully bright and cheerful paper pack. I then used one of the large SU eyelets to thread that beautiful satin ribbon through- talk about a nice feeling. The flower is a prima that I took the little polka dot circle that I punched out the eyelet hole with and used a epoxy sticker over it and stuck in the middle of my prima. The next card I do I am going to put something in that little wheelbarrow.

Tata for now! Heidi

Party....................

Who hooooo it is Saturday, lets all party! Today's card I did for the Friday Sketcher challenge again this week. I also found another challenge site that I am going to participate in Stamping Sisters in Christ, which required you to use food. It was a fun sketch by Carole and I am sure I will use it again, my card is a little busier than I planned but all those fun Basic Grey papers.............. you gotta coordinate them! The image is Motivet colored with my copic markers. This is an image that I colored last weekend when I spent the entire Saturday with my friend Claudia who is fabulous I might add! Now this card is a standard size card, I have had to start making this size again b/c that is what people want to purchase- I love making the bigger ones- but I gotta please the buyers, right?!

Thanks for stopping in and hope to see you back tomorrow!

Thinking of you.....

Oh Happy Friday!

Today's card is one that I made to stock up on my basic cards and I wanted to keep it simple and quick. I pulled out my Penny Black Enjoy Life Stamp set that I got from Julie over at ABC Toys and Crafts and stamped it all in black and then left it. I took the spellbinder small label and die cut it and then I just squared it off around the outside to make the frame. I thought the tree would do well sitting back so I lifted the frame with some 3D foam. Then I added a little border punch and I tell you, Julie has tons of the new Martha Stewart ones over there! Now I have another card in my box!

I also wanted to let you know what is going on over at ABC.............

50% off lots of products HERE
10% off Storewide sale
Check out the GIVEAWAY that Julie has over on the ABC Design Team Blog: uh, do I see a couple Martha Stewart Punches in there? Yep I do! You gotta go on over and give her a shout out and be eligible to win!!!!- HERE

Have a fabulous weekend!

Oldie but Goodie!

Hey all- Happy Tuesday! Busy day here at the Steinhebel household, some appointments, work......... and then some special tasks to do this evening. I will share photos of what I am doing next week- I have to keep it under raps for now.

But I pulled out one of my older Tilda images this week. You know you build up all those new Magnolia's (or whatever your vice is) and then you don't use the older ones- I love this one. So I am submitting this one for the Friday Sketcher Challenge. The image is Magnolia Spring Collection Tilda with bird. which you can still get over at 7kids! I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah paper and colored her with my copics to match the Basic Grey Lime Rickey. For the flower I punched out a piece of the paper with my circle punch and covered with epoxy sticker. I do love this sketch and will use it again!

Thanks for stopping in! Heidi

Whiff of Joy

Oh, oh..... pink and black! I thought I would make a card with the striking combination- it makes a statement I think. This is a Whiff of Joy: Melinda reading book. As you will see I am trying to experiment with the grey and black copics, I think that the girls with black hair are so striking. Now this one is still a little too grey but working on this. I do like how her pants came out, just faded enough I think. I used my nesties to do the image and scallop in black. By the way- I entered this in the copic creations challenge for this month!
I know it is another short post but hey, what else do you want to know-....... :)

Dog Gone Sweet!

Hello! I am back with a new card that is made with an image that my new friend Mary sent to me. I have loved these little Pink Gem dogs and she was kind enought to stamp and send me some images. At first I was going to make a masculine card but I have almost run out of thank you cards............ so that is the route I took.

Okay and is that paper yummy or what!? It is of course...... basic grey Porcelain pack. It goes so well with SU pink piroquet and mellow moss. The ribbon is mellow moss grosgrain and then some pink from one of the SU designer packs but I don't have the package any longer but is it sweet and rippled. I would also like to say thank you to Claudia as I had seen this sketch on her blog and had to give it a try!

I know I am off schedule a bit this week, hope to get back on track this next week. Today is my day to spend with Claudia: we will stamp, gab, color, gab, and probably giggle too! That is it for today ladies!

Lets Catch Up

Ok, I just had to make another card with this stamp set. At first I had a difficult time with it, not sure why. These My Cute Stamps stamp very clear and crisp but maybe it was the fish theme.... I struggled with an idea and then this one popped into my head and I am pleased with the outcome.

This set is Fishy Fun and I got it from Julie at ABC Toys and Crafts. It is one of the new releases that we featured last week and are currently in stock right now! The sentiment is one that I made up and added to the card. The fish are highlighted by using the circle scallop and then punching another circle inside and raised with foam.

I am also submitting this one for the Stamp Something challenge b/c on our vacation this summer my son and father in law spent all their time fishing! I didn't see anything this cute come out of the water though! LOL!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Just sitting in the flowers......

Oh my......... what do you think? I got my sweet little Heidi in flowers in the mail this week and I could not wait any longer (working on some other projects that I had to put on hold). This has to be one of my fav cards although I don't think that it photo as well as I would like but after 10 photo I gave up!

She is stamped with memento ink on neenah cardstock and then colored with my copic markers. The DSP is Basic Grey June Bug that I also got from Kelly over at KLSNS. I have gotten so bad, and I am sure that many of you are like me, but I am buying ALL the Basic Grey pads because they are so yummy. I don't think that I would even have to see them- I would just order them. I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and they had a Holiday Sampler and the papers were so gorgeous. Anyone see it yet?

Well I am off to get some work done- you all have a fabulous Thursday!

Are you blue?

I know, can you believe that I have made a Sarah Kay card without any pink? This is Picnic of Daisies stamped with Memento tuxedo black on Neenah cardstock all of which you can find at 7kidscollegefund. I also colored them with my copic markers to match the SU blues and DSP. The ribbon is one I got from the dollar bin at Michael's some time ago and it is so soft and ties wonderfully. I then finished it off with some little half pearls and a daisy.

I know it is short but I am off today and just got myself organized to post. So keepin is short and sweet- plus it is tooooo hot! LOL!. Have a great Tuesday!

Edwin on Display

Happy Sunday!

This project is kind of an "off spring" of the project I did earlier this week. I wanted to do something more than a card and I am behind on scrapbooking and thought this little album would be perfect for on the coffee table or any display. It will hold 3 nice size pictures in the middle and then you can add some journaling on the tag that I have that fits into the pocket on the right- plus you could add a photo above it. I also made that a pocket behind Edwin as well.

The image of course is Chasing Edwin from the Catching Butterflies Magnolia Collection and these stamps are on sale over at KLSNS right now for up to 35% off. This is a great way to build up your collection AND Kelly has a special on shipping as well. I hope you'll take advantage of it!

This is a picture of the outside of the album- it can be closed and stringed shut for safe keeping or travel.

I thought I would also show you some close up of the other pages that I made. I did keep them simple and used Basic Gray Two Sccops paper on them. The little birdie is also a magnolia stamp that someone stamped for me- and I thought it would fit the theme.

Basics for making the album:
2 8 1/2 x 11 Cardstock
Score both at 4 inches and slide them together so that the inside measures 8in wide AND the outsides match up: adhere in that position. Embellish the outside as you like.
Then you will cut 3 coordinating cardstocks for the base of your album pages:
7 3/4 x 5 38
7 3/4 x 6 6/8
7 3/4 x 8 1/2
Each of them should be scored 1 in from the top and attached together (I used the large white SU eyelets). This will allow each page to fold upwards to view the next page. Embellish the pages and either side as you like.
You could make the same type of album pages for either side but just be careful how bulky this becomes.
I hope this helps and have a splendid day!

Fishy Fishy!

Happy Friday- I am sure you are all as happy about that as I am. I really truly live for my weekends as I get older- LOL, all you youngin's probably say the same thing!

Today is my day to show you one of the brand spankin' new stamps that has just been released by My Cute Stamps. This set is called Fishy Fun Crab Set and I had a few ideas in my mind when I got this set from Julie and played and played with it- and all I know is that I had to use color, it was so tropical that I couldn't do anyting but........... don't you agree?

This is a close up of one of the cards, I colored them with my copic markers and was able to match them all pretty closely with the DSP which is a Cosmo Cricket one! So yummy! As you can tell from this photo all the little cards which are 3.5x3.5 will fit into the pizza box that I also made to go with this set.

So, where can you get these sweet stamps? Well you can go on over to ABC Toys and Crafts and Julie has all then new releases NOW. OR you could be eligible to win them as well if you go over to the ABC DT blog HERE. Cross

This cross stamp is one that I picked up a few weeks ago while shopping on vacation. This line had several different styles and sizes and this was a medium size-they have larger ones and they were awesome. I was just afraid it would be too much for me. I just pictured stained glass and want to try that technique on the next one. The DP is SU left overs that I had and I thought the colors went well together- the green might be a little too green vs the mellow green on the DP but it definately makes a statement and I believe my friend enjoyed the card (didn't you?) LOL!

Have a great day- sorry it is a quick post for the day but dang, the weeks go by fast and I still have lots to do. And remember if you have not entered to win the FREE STAMPS from ABC DT Blog head over there. And then the KLSNS blog hop is going on till Saturday so you have a chance to join the fun and win prizes by clicking on the cute little logo over there on the right!

Altered Portfolio

I just love this project! I am not sure what it is called, but I kind of made my own tutorial up to have it come out. I didn't realize though that I forgot to take apicture of the front of this before I sent it off to my friend. So I will now have to make another one to show off! Yikes............ It is kind of like a portfolio. When you close these sides up it is about 9x12inches and I have a little string pull that holds it shut.

This here is the absolute inside- as you can just tell this is open and so there is the middle and the two sides. When shut, it will look like the picture above. I can't believe I didn't take the outside picture!

Ok so that is it for today but please do not forget about two things I have going this week:

1. KLSNS Blog Hop: start over at the DT blog and enter to win free goodies!

2. ABC Toys and Craft New Stamp Release: the DT blog has a free stamp a day give away.

See you all later now!

7kids Cherry

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was packed: a golf outing on Saturday and then scraping, sanding and priming the front porch to have a fresh coat of paint! Lets just say I slept well this weekend and did not do what I was anticipating doing, which was to go to the Novi Rubberstamp show on Sunday! But oh well- the porch looks splendid.

Today's card is made with the OH SO CUTE little Tilda in her cherry dress. This has to be one of my favorites- for sure! I stamped her with tuxedo black ink from memento on solar white Nassau cardstock and then colored with mostly my green and red copic markers. The circle in the back was made with my inverted scallop circle nestability- is this shape not the coolest!? I think that she will find her way to a special friends home soon!

Also, you are going to want to check out all the new items that Tab over at 7kids: either in the store or on pre-order. Just to name a few:

Vintage Box

Thanks to a friend of mine (Cindy!) I have gotten into altering boxes. This was a plain wooden box that I painted red. Actually when I was done painting it I loved the color so much that I wanted to just leave it a red box. It was such a nice deep red- very vintage looking....... so then I had to go on a hunt for the stamps and lace to go on the box. So while out on vacation I enrolled the assistance of my mother to help me find some lace that would be victorian, elegant, vintage all in one. This is what we came up with. I played around with the lace over and over to figure out just where to put it. I hope it is not too much. At first I had it just around the top and then I tried it along the bottom and thought it looked much more elegant with it there- but didn't think it looked overdone. What do you think? The stamp is one of the Stampers Anonymous (Tim Holz demo'd Christmas 2006) that I splurged on a year or two ago. It is a very old fashioned Santa and came with the word Believe and a christmas tree. I only used the Santa and the snowflake came from Winter Post along with the rest of the images on the box. I thought it went well together- old fashioned(ish). I stuck with cream and browns to keep it toned down b/c the box was quite red.
So now I have decided quite possibly that I need to do about 8 of these for holiday gifts. I am making many of my gifts and this will be the perfect box to hold them. I can't imagine someone wouldn't love getting it.

PB Congrats

Happy Saturday all! I hope that today is wonderful and you are all getting your well earned rest, relaxation and YAHOO it is Saturday feeling! LOL!

Today's card I had to post is just adorable...... well I think. I used a Penny Black Stamp called Bubbly that I got from ABC Toys and Crafts. What I like about this set, and you will see if you look at it, is that it give you alot of different stamps and can be quite versatile. You purchase ones set and you can create cards for a variety of occasions. This one I chose to use as a Congrats kind of card....... The papers are bright and cheerful and who wouldn't want to get mail from those little critters!

So stop on over and check out all the Martha Stewart Punches that Julie has in stock now. I am amazed at the variety and I am guessing we won't be seeing all of these in the stores. Plus if your store is like mine, they get 3 and that is it, so you better be there the day the arrive! OR, better yet just order them from Julie! Plus Julie is having a sale of 10% a lot of her merchandise.

Thanks for stopping by today!
