Hidden Message

Am I jumping around the holidays or what? LOL! Today's card I made a little special because when I saw the sketch I thought it would be fun to have the card be a little interactive. The house is stamped and then I used markers to color the moon and windows. The piece is not actually attached completely to the base, just at the top, side, bottom- to allow the piece with the tree to slide in.
Here is a better picture of what I have done with the hidden message. You just pull the tab and out it comes. The tree is actually matted and then I used a 3D pop dot to attach it to the base, this allows it to slide over the picture. All the product is SU.

Posies!

Hello! Today's card is one that I cased off Jackie Pedro, after the Verve sketch challenge. I just love these October Afternooon papers and so I wanted to use these stamps (rubbernecker) with it because they look so vintage and match well with the one paper don't you think? I stamped the little flowers in blushing bride and cherry SU colors.

Then in this picture you can tell I put some glossy accents on some of the flowers, just the smaller ones so they pop a little more.

OK- confession, see how I have been using the sponge around all my sentiments? Well I am frustrated because when I use the nesties they are not really nesties..... what? you say. Well if I use two of them together I don't like the matting effect.(too much difference) I always have to draw around the outside and cut it myself- and I don't like my cutting ability. So- am I missing something?

Knock on wood

A few weeks ago you recall that my husband and I went to a rubberstamp show? Well while shopping he was looking at stamps that looked like wood and was very interested in getting one. I told him I had the TH embossing folder that looked like wood and so I came home and made this piece by inking up the embossing folder and then using kraft paper. He was so impressed! So a few days later he proudly announced that he had the perfect card for me to make using the piece............................ tada- this is it!

This is the inside of the card- his idea as well!

Christmas Wishes Tag

I told you, I am enjoying making holiday gift tags. But I have to tell you, that for the last 2 years I have been hosting a christmas tag swap so I have way too many. Plus many I will not use because, like so many of you, the person receiving them has to really truly appreciate the art and well, I just can't give em away! :)

This card is made using the SU die cut and I made it by folding my cardstock and then positioning the fold just below the cut line on the die cut. I then used the slit punch on the back piece and cut the front piece a little short. When you open the tag- you will find the TO/FROM sentiment. Then I distressed the entire card.

Fix Your Eyes

So I was going through my cabinets and found this notebook and figured I should do something with it, who knows how long I have had this sitting around waiting to be altered. I personally do not use notebooks much but figured it is a good back to school item for the ABC Challenge. I used some black/gray paper that had some awesome swirls on it. Then I took some crackle paint (black) and put it in sme areas- heated it up and scuffed it up. Then I took some grunge die cuts and covered them in black again- spritzed the entire book with licorice spritz. I do actually love the way the book looks. I thought I would enter again in ODBDSLC26 as I did use die cuts and the sentiment is ODBD.
Have a Blessed day!

Do not be afraid....................

Cindy's challenge over at SSCC is to chose a life verse, something that makes a statement that you are not afraid. This statement came to mind and I thought it would fit perfectly for this challenge.

I was popping around to the gals blogs and I happened upon Chris Olsen's blog and she said something that rings true for me often. Do you ever drive into your driveway or watch your kids and wonder- what did I do to deserve such a wonderful home or wonderful children? I know I do- I feel very blessed in all aspects of my life. I hope you do too!

Holy Night

Hello everyone! It is Sunday evening and while my family was on the internet choosing their fantasy football teams I decided to have a little crafting time of my own. I chose to use the Mojo Monday sketch but am submitting this card for the ODBDSLC26 which was to use punches and dies. I made the card on the right first, using 3 different die (nestabilities) and some beautiful vintage looking DSP. The second card took me minutes to make because I had everything out already and figured hey, I can get a 2nd card done for Christmas. The pointsettia is prima I do believe, I got them last year at Michael's, they came in a small tin. So sweet! Definately a NEED as the holidays approach don't you think?

Possibility

Happy Saturday! I hope that you are all out exploring your weekend! I started out without any plans and I am hoping it will stay pretty much like that. That way I can do a little crafting, some shopping, and well I would love to sit and read in the sunshine a bit! :)Ok, so the card.... this is another sketch from Julee over at verve. Isn't it great? All the paper is SU and the sentiment is one of Julee's. Hope you enjoyed today's card.

Happiness Abounds

Hello everyone! Welcome back- as you can see I have another sweet card using a Verve sketch. I just love the simplicity and ease of them. I used the SU embossing folder to give the plain part a little definition. And as you see- the colors are gorgeous (well I think so!). Hope you enjoyed it.

100 Days................

Hello you all- I have been missing for a couple days- sorry. Just didn't have anything made and didn't have any time to get something done for you all. But, I finally set my mind to it, plugged in my MOJO and went on over to VERVE to get some inspiration. They have a new release coming out on Friday so lots of sketches (and you know how much I LOVE Julee's sketches.
So this is using my SU DSP from a pack out of last years stash. I just really wanted to use this color with black and the sketch was perfect.
So, what do you think?

Vintage Tag........

Hello everyone! Another weekend is over.............. boy do they go fast! But this last week I got my box of new SU stamps and look what was in there. This is actually a part of the new Christmas Collage background. It is so cool and fun to work with. You are only seeing a small portion of the image which I just distressed a little bit and colored in the leaves. To give it some dimension I colored the berries and then I used glossy accents.

This is actually a holiday gift tag that if you slide the top piece over you can write the TO/FROM information. I have a feeling that holiday gift tags are in my near future....... just love making them.

Christmas Wishes

Happy Saturday Evening! Glad you are stopping in today. Today's card is using one of my new Stampin Up sets, ready for Christmas? Well I am not really, as it is in the 90's but it is refreshing to make some holiday cards. First I colored the stamp with real red and olive green and stamped it on cream cardstock. The design paper is kraft and I used the new SU embossing folder (love it!).

Map your birthday.....

So, here is another masculine card for this week. The background is a Cover-All stamp that I got this weekend (again, my husband made me buy it- :) ). I stamped it in cocoa and then the card is made again with the lighthouse stamp (ODBD) which I used a bit of copics, colored pencils, blender pen and distressing. I am really happy with this one as well- I am always struggling with the masculine cards. Hope you enjoyed!

Lighthouse Birthday!

This weekend I got to go to the local stamp convention and my wonderful husband came along with me. He saw this stamp and thought it would be great to make masculine cards. Well who was I to deny him the purchase (I think he had me spending twice as much as I would have!). Anyways, so this card was stamped in black and then I stamped the lighthouse again and then used the crackle tecnique to do the lighthouse. And well, I do think that it turned out masculine.
This sketch is one of my fail safe sketches, easy and quick to use so I entered it for the ODBD Challenge.

Have a great day!

Smell the Flowers.........

Good Day! Another day, another challenge! This week I actually decided to participate in the LOTV Challenge and submit my card on time (who would have thunk it possible?). I hope you don't mind me using this image again, I only have 2 LOTV stamps and so I went with this one because I thought it went better with the colors. :) So I colored her with copics and then as you can see below, a little glitter added to her wings and the flowers. The sketch is the LOTV sketch for this week- maybe you'll join us?

A close up of the wings- so we are off to Niagara Falls!

Beary Birthday!

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me today. I am excited to show you this card because it is a new stamp that I got from my friend Jilanne and he is adorable AND he is a bear. So of course, I am going to enter him for the Cute Bear Challenge which is to do anything but square and a tag (in my case- it is a tab). LOL!

I colored this sweet Penny Black with my copics and used some tasty DSP. See that little weave on the baja breeze? Well that is one of the new SU embossing folders and I just adore it because it is so country(ish) and I also think that it is one that you can always use to give your card the masculine feel (something I can always use some help with). As you probably already know, the tab punch is also SU.

With that- I finish for the day! Have a good one and hope to you will stop over again!

Pink Patchwork

Isnt this DSP just the sweetest? YOu all might recall that I made a scrapbook for one our friends daughter out of the paper and thought I should use up the rest of the paper. So I decided to participate in the MOJO Monday Challenge this week. The wavy bottom I used my flexible ruler by bobunny.

Fairy Birthday!

Hello everyone......... welcome again today! Today's card is one that I did for the LOTV Challenges. This little angel/fairy is picking flowers just for you!

The sketch is part of the challenge so they took care of that hard part for me. I also stamped this on glittery paper and just love the little shimmer that I get but not sure that you can see it from the photo. I colored with my copics (yeah- they are happy to be used again I am sure!). The flowers are a wonderful gift from my blogging friend Jacquie.

And that is for today all! Thanks again and talk to you later.

Caught Hangin Around!

Hey! Here we are with a Christmas card, yep! I have made a few of these this summer in anticipation of getting some done ahead of time. Have you started any? This little guy is a High Hopes stamp that I have not used in so long. The DSP is from basic grey (figgy pudding). I colored the image with my copic markers and then distressed the edges with a tool and ink. That is the scoop- have a great day!

Birthday Party- Blog HOP!!!

Welcome to the Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop! Verve is turning 3 today and we are celebrating with a BLOG HOP! It will be vervilicious I am sure so please join us. You should have come from Janelle's blog and if not, stop on over to Julee's blog to get all the details on how to participate and win some goodies too! (what is a party without gifts?). If you get lost- start at the MASTER List so you can see all the wonderful creations.
Both of my projects today are actually refrigerator magnets! I wanted to make some small token gifts that would be quick and easy and these fit the description. They are actually coasters and I took the front one and put it through the machine with the spellbinder. Covered with DSP and then sandwiched my sentiment, which is from the Verve, between another coaster. The flowers are from the prima seasonal set.

This one here is a round coaster, the sentiment from Verve. The butterfly is made with the MS butterfly punch. So now, it is time for you to make your way over to Andrea's Blog
and have a great day!
