Sniffin Bunny

Today's card is an easel card which I am sure you have all seen but I had still to try. It was quite fun to make and it is so cute. It is a small one that is for sure, much smaller than I had anticipated. If you've not made one, you need to try it. The image is one I got in an image swap a long time ago- not even sure who makes this one. The papers are from my box of DCWV pads.

I hope you like him! We should be back from vacation today.......... hoping to be a little tan and a little warmer/rested.

Crazy Cupcake Class

I am hosting a cupcake class for my customers and put together a couple of projects, the rest are still pending. We will be using the Crazy for Cupcakes SU set and I chose it because it really is a cute set that can be very versatile. You can do birthday stuff but because you get the balloons and the cupcake platter you can easily use if for other occasions as well.
My first card is with Tempting Turquoise and Apricot basically. I used the DSP Rainbow Sherbert because I wanted the cards to be bright and cheerful. I think that I am also going to use the Always DSP for one of the other cards/projects too!
My Second project is pretty simple, it is a little basket that you can put little favors in or fill it with candy to put on the table for a special occasion. It is basically a 7x7 in piece of cardstock that is scored 2 1/2 inches all the way around and then snipped on the inner scores and pulled together. The little platter is colored with SU markers and mounted on going gray-which by the way is the first going gray I have ever used! Can you believe it? I never had that color till this week- and it goes so well with the Pink Pirouette.
So, there are two of my projects and I need to get 2 more together. I hope you all have a grand day!

Love in Bloom

Oh is this little giraffe not the cutest little giraffe you have ever seen? I mean, come on if you met him you would not be able to resist hugging him around the long neck (even if he was munching on your most prized posies!). I got this image from someone last year and the first time I did this I used flock on him and it was adorable, might even have it somewhere in my archives but can't recall. This time I thought I would make a Valentine Card but I had to use flowers on it for the Whimsy Stamp Challenge of Flower Power and I think that I got it- lots of flowers and PINK!. I colored him with my copics and the DP is once againf rom my K&CO Valentine pack and I layered with SU pretty in pink and then another brand but can't recall- it is Archivers. The pink ribbon was in the dollar bin at Mike's last fall and I love it, it is soft and ties nicely. See the charm- I am always looking for charms and that I found in the jewelry department at Mike's as well! I hope you enjoy him!

OH and OH- have you seen my BLOG CANDY list? Well you better go because I added Michelle to my list and she is having a Major Candy Attack!

Whimsy Design Team Call

Denise over at Whimsy Stamps is holding a Guest Design Team Call so I thought I would give it a try. I only like to apply for a DT if they have product that I really enjoy and these stamps are adorable. Denise has 6 images out and all of them have this sweet face- one that you can only imagine what they are saying.

The base of the card is SU wasabi green and I stitched one of my K&Co DP onto it- this is a new thing for me. I have one of those mini sewing machines that has been in hiding and I decided to pull it out and give it a try. It took me some time but I got er done! I then layered another piece of DP on DCWV and then I added a variety of stickles to embellish the little hearts and flowers, make it pop! The red, I die cut with my NEW (yippy!) nestabilities Label I. Now for the image, it is stamped with tuxedo black on white and then colored with my copics. I cut the entire thing out and that was some job I tell you- but I wanted it layered on that label piece so he needed to be popped up with a dot. Then I added some branches punched from the Martha Steward branch punch. Added a couple complementary dew drops and there it is. Wish me luck?

Take care, stay warm!

Friends

Isn't she the sweetest? This is a Pink Poison image that a good friend of mine sent to me. This and the little Anya Elf are the first two images that i have gotten and they are too cute, I love coloring them and they take virtually no time at all. I wanted this card to be springy, bright and cheerful- well because I am glad you are my friend! LOL!
The DP is from one of the DCWV paper pads, it has all these wonderfully bright prints in it and with the holidays I forget about it. I colored Anya with my copics and layered her on SU Chocolate Chip. The little sentiment is from the hostess set- these sentiments are the BESTEST aren't they? I will miss that this set will be gone. The bow- well my friend Cheryl is the BOW master- she has big beautiful bows on all of her cards and I love them. So, this is my attempt- not as sweet as Cheryl's but it does justice to my card. I used pink satin, a yellow grosgrain and that cute little heart button was sent to me some time ago and I know nothing more about it (where it came from, where it has been- sounds like a lonely heart doesn't it?) NOT anymore- I love it on my card with Anya.
Even thought the card is springy it is extremely cold and snowy here in Michigan again. But I finished my shopping last night, most all is wrapped and we are almost ready for the BIG guy to come! Hope you are too!

Because I Care

Have you ladies seen the Whimsy Stamps? Denise is the owner, new owner too! I saw this owl and fell in love with him right away. He just has this adorable look, whimsical- as do all of the images by Whimsy. You must check them out and tell them I sent ya!
The DP is from a K&Co pack that I hoard of course, but the swirls went well with my theme and LO, which is actually a sketch that Denise put together over on papercraft. I was late in posting it so I didn't get into the contest but thought I would post it anyways. I needed a card for someone that said I cared about them and this is the first little face I thought of. I used a little SU grosgrain and the branch punch from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is actually a partial of one of the hostess sets for SU.
Well I need to get to work and tonight finish off my holiday shopping! It must get done some time doesn't it? I just keep thinking of someone I forgot or something else to buy.......... THAT is the bad part! Happy shopping!

Whiff of Christmas!

Well my hubby and I went out and did a few more shopping errands last evening so another fun filled shopping spree. I am almost done, which is good because I am running out of steam and I need to start wrapping! Are you all done wrapping yet?
Today's card is a Whiff of Joy image that I colored with my copics. Once again- I am trying to color some images ahead of time so when I sit down I have the images done and can focus on the card/sketch. I have seen so many cards with the DP or the image at an angle and love it so tried it on this card. The paper is from an old pack that I had but thought the colors would work with this image. I don't usually use this "shade" of green and red so this was a change for me. I did matte the image on SU RR and then used white card base. These images are a bit larger as well so the card is 5 1/2 x5 1/2 again. I like this size now for some reason! The little ornament came in the little can that had the poinsettia flowers from Michael's.
I hope all of your are finishing up the shopping, decorating, baking......... and wrapping. It is frigid here in Michigan, like 18 degree so I want to stay in with my tea! Have a FAB day!

Tags for swapping

I am hosting a holiday tag swap over on SCS and I typically do a variety of tags- I can never make them all the same. I believe that I had shared a few a month or so ago so I thought I would share my most recent ones. This one is made with a SnowBoy stamp that I borrowed from a friend of mine (thanks Faith!) and I just love him. Not only is he cute but easy and quick to color. I cut out the ovals with my nesties and then used some floss to attach the two pieces. Won't these look just cute on a package?

This next tag........ well ladies this is an experiment of a tag. How many of you were over at Tim Holtz last year for his 12 days of Christmas? Well I fell in love with Tim during those 12 days and had to try some of his stuff! This is one of his tags and I tried hard to follow the directions. I used black paper and stamped the snowman with versamark and then embossed it. I then colored with daubers in two shades of blue. I was to let it dry and wipe the color off the snowman but it did not work for me at all. So then I went back and stamped the snowman again in black- he looks a little scary, almost evil my son said! I highlighted with snowflakes but I had to share with you. I am not sure that I will ever use them but will have to work on perfecting this technique. If you want to see Tim Holtz tags- go to his site Timholtz.com

Thanks for looking today ladies!

Thursday Cheers

This little card I put together for a friend, just to say HI and lets get together and chat. It also fits the Thursday Cute Card challenge which I might add, I have not participated in forever! I have just had too much going on. So I will enter this one for that.

You must check out Camilla's blog candy- I have her on my blog list: sweet yummies for you and you will not want to miss out on them either! Go- what are you waiting for?

Tag-a-long!

HAPPY FRIDAY! Are you all as happy as I am? It has been a busy week, lots going on here at home and at work. Sometimes you wonder how you get all the things done in one day..... that is me this week. And today is Halloween, we are not really big Halloweeners so I don't typically post Halloween stuff so you are going to get Christmas (sorry!). BUT both of my kids are telling me they are going trick or treating- which is amazing cause they have not always gone and to this moment neither has a costume! Yikes......... that means around 5pm they will be asking me to help them come up with something. But until then, I will show you my tags.
These tags are ones that I started the other night and I love how cute they came out. I will say that the photos do NOTHING for these tags. I used cocoa with red riding hood and the other is sand with red riding hood. I used some glitte on the snowflakes which you can not see in this photo but it just adds the finishing touch to these. The button on the snowflake is one of the riding hood SU buttons.

Vintage Santa

I got this vintage Santa face on a PIF thread on SCS and I just love him. He is very simple, he is stamped in chocolate and all I did was layer on Real Red cardstock that was put throught the CB plate. Then I put some stickles on the snowflakes, added some ribbon and a little joy tag. This tag is acrylic and I used stazon on it- reminds me of the shrinky dink. I made this following the Stampsomething challenge thread. Turns into a nice vintage card, I think.

To kind of go along with the vintage look I thought I would show you this card. Now this is not my sketch, I got it from someone else (can't recall who though) but loved it. I got the Winter Post set that is in the new SU Mini and it is so versatile, vintage and FUN! I thought I would never use the reindeer and look- here he is! I wanted it for the post card saying and the santa postmark, love them both!

Okay- and an update on the 16 yr old thing! OMG- he passed the road test this week and he now has a drivers license! What am I suppose to do now? Should I let him drive? I am freaking out ladies............. he is a good driver, I do not mind driving with him but now, let him leave in the car on his own? Oh, I do not think so- there is so much that can happen to him. I never thougth I would feel like this.......

Oh and I am leaving for San Diego this afternoon and I have nothing planned ahead for you gals so I will not post again until Monday. I wish I had more time to plan- if I do, I will. I have a feeling there is a need for some Halloween Blog Candy- what do you think?

Tilda's Garden

I just have to share this with you all. I have had a busy week and so on Thursday night I was feeling creative and sat down with some images and put some thoughts into my head (yeah, I know, scary isn't it?) Anyways- two hours later this is what I had done. I know, 2 hours is a long time but coloring, cutting, die cutting, embossing and planning the layout ......... well I am so thrilled with this one. Even my husband looked at it and was like- WOW!
I colored the tilda with copics and the big flowers and birds are both magnolia stamps that coordinate. The flowers in the back ground are high hope stamps that I layered in two rows, the front row is actually standing out from the back- it is almost like I have 4 layers deep on this card. The ladybug and kitten are die cuts with my sizzix (yeah- I got to use it again!). I used wire to attach the birds to make them flying above the garden. I hope you like it and it makes you feel creative this Sunday afternoon! If you have not tried the step card, give it a whirl the possibilities are endless.

Step Card

I just happened upon this challenge over on SCS and just fell in love with these cards and truly they are so easy! I am going to post mine over there and will share with you the details of the card as well. I used SU Winter Post (yeah, so glad it arrived in time for this card!) and stamped the trees which are from Stampers Anonymous Believe set in kiwi on whisper white cardstock and matted on cocoa cardstock. Then I stamped the skaters in chocolate chip, colored a couple of things and then I cut around them but left the bottom portion of the paper so that it would attach to step 2 of my card. I also stamped the reindeer, matted him on cocoa and attached at step 2. The front is Ski Slope DP and the Postcard image from the set in chocolate chip. I added some stickles to the skating pond that I made and done. I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Details:
Cardstock 10.5 x 5. Scored at 1.25, 2.5, 4.25, 6, and 8.25.
Fold the card accordian style making sure the smallest fold is folded down as this will be the front of your card.
Start embellishing it!

I hope you give this one a try it truly is fun and lets you be very creative in decorating the steps. If you make one, please leave a link and I will stop over and take a lookie! Have a great day!

Together

This is alittle Sarah Kay card that I made last month and never got posted for you all. I colored her with my copics and I am pleased with how it came out. I think that I was going with the neutral colors when I started working on this. I love the flowers even though they are fallish, the papers are from a DCWV paper stack I do believe. I used my sizzix to punch out the flower behind the prima. The ribbon is celery from SU. The only thing that I am not crazy about is faux stitching..... I have never done this well. I popped the saying up so that it would give some dimension to the card.
Now- don't forget about my blog candy in my post from the other day, I know it is not alot but the images will be worth it. Good Luck!

Lots of Pink

Over on Cute Card Thursday they want us to use LOTS of pink and so that is my specialty, you know how I love pink. Is this ribbon beautiful or what? I can't recall where I got this roll but it is a little wider and I love how it hangs on the card. Of course it is a magnolia...... I have not used these in a bit so thought I would share this one. The background is made with a bunch of strips of paper that I laid next to one another to look like a quilt. I just loved the colors, one of my friends showed me this technique and she is actually the one that gave me all the little strips of paper too! (thanks sue!). Hope you enjoy it...........

Welcome and Friendships!

Ok, I know, I keep changing my themes here: going from summer to Christmas but this little guy is too cute and so I had to post him. I made this one in August and I just love these precious moment stamps (they are no longer making them) and so I truly enjoy making cards with them. I did use the K&Co pink/green stack which is one of my favs. I used rose red from SU as well.

Next I have to show you, back in August I think it was (was it even earlier than that?) that I went and spent the day with Claudia? Well I have pics of us and I totally forgot to post them- so here goes (hope she doesn't get mad at me.... tee hee hee...... she shouldn't her hubby took the photo for heaven sake! Ha!!!) So this is Claudia and I.

Can you tell we were having so much fun? I think that this might have been after the kids were in bed and we were laughing and Paul came down to see what was going on. I truly enjoyed my day and look forward to getting together with her again sometime (hope she feels the same way!)

Hope you all have a fabulous rest of your weekend!

So Sweeeeeeeet!

I don't know about you all but this has been a fabulous summer here in Michigan, the weather has surely shown us what it can be like. We've had no rain in like 6 weeks, yeah- I know it is not good for the farming community but for those of us who love the heat and sun, it has been a dream. So yesterday and today it has been in the low 70's and it has rained and been a little gloomy, don't get me wrong because I know we need some relief but it also is a sign of the end of summer (along with the kids going back to school). So this card is in honor of the end of summer. This is a CC designs set and I used DCWV paper pack and layered on my celery SU paper. I colored this cute little monkey and his messy ice cream with my copics. I just love the bright colors and the summer memories. That would not be me in the tree but one of my kids! LOL. Okay, maybe I am just into sweets this week, by the looks of my cards. I bought these cute little epoxy stickers at JoAnn's this week. I had been eyeballing them for about a month and put it off cause I don't really need them but just gave in. They also remind me of my niece who is into drawing ice cream, cupcakes, etc.... and so this card I made for her. I will send it to her in the next month or so with some other goodies. I am also going to use my card scents cupcake to put in it so it smells yummy for her. The yellow paper is from the SU designer series and the red check is some that was sent to me. As you can see, I used the sentiment from the CCdesigns set as well.

BLOG CANDY: I have to share this with you, I found these sweet stamps and they are having some blog candy. Check out Spiralwhisper and see their new releases! They are so cute.

Kreativ Kristin is giving away awesome goodies! Plus look at her awesome work.

So this weekend I went to the Stamp Convention and boy, did I have fun or what. I got to go to Marco paper and they had a great deal on nesties so I got myself another set of them. I bought the round and ovals but will share with my friend (hey Jen!) I also got some other fun stuff to use on my cards, I only bought 1, yep that is one, stamp and it is a sentiment that I love.
This card is made with images from my new friend and alota stamp design team Shary. I love this image and love these cards. The DP is from one of my DCWV packs and the sentiment is from one of my SU sets.
I am going to try and post again on Thursday ladies and then I am off to Mexico. I am not going to have access so I won't post anything until I return after the 30th. I will miss posting but definately need this little vacation. I am going with my family (hubby and sons), the inlaws, and my mother! Should be a good time, great weather and lots of relaxation.

True Friends

This is a card that I made for a get together with some friends. It is the True Friend set and then the paper that came out at the same time but now is retired from SU. I just love this set and the paper is just so perfect and I would have loved to see it in this new catty, it can go with so many of the current sets. But alas- it is not. I used moss for the nesties that I use on the front, it is actually a tri-folded card which is something a little different for me. Or shall I say I have not used this format in some time. I am trying to expand on the style of card as well as the set. And then you open the card the last time and you have a cute little spot to add your own message which I do a lot- leave them blank until I am ready to use them............. you too? It just gives me cards for use later plus I find if I make them for someone else they can put their own sentiments and it makes it more versatile- while I know some of you ladies feel it is not complete until it has the message. hee hee...........

Okay, and now I have to show you all some fabulous cards that i have received in the mail over the last couple of weeks. This first card I got from Shary, it came with a prize from a blog candy I won which was a alota stamp and some images. Is this card not the cutest?

This next card was sent to me by Christine for a Card Mingle that I joined on the Magnolia-licious group. She did a fabulous job putting this card together and there is a lot that she put into this card and I am very privaledged to have received this card from her. It is a large card and you could put it into a frame! Would that not be the sweetest?

Then this card is from Tina- I won a blog candy (how lucky am I?) on her blog and she sent met his card inside the package with the goodies, which were awesome by the way! But this card is so sweet- take a look at all the detail. Are the colors on this card not fabulous, shouts summer!

Oh! I am not done yet! This card is from Karen, we have become friends and did a little exchange and SHAME on me for not sending you a card girl. That will come next. I love these colors and I think that she knew I am partial to the little boy cards, this is a Hanglar and I shall cherish it.

I will add the links to the rest of their sites when I get to my other computer that has them all in my favorites. Do I not have some creative friends or what. Thank you all for these beautiful cards.

A little less skin?

Here is another little Sarah Kay image that I got and I was set to do the Friday Sketch Challenge and I had the challenge sketched on a paper piece and did the card and then went "oops!" - I didn't tear and put the image inside the window. Otherwise it is the same sketch. I love this card, I got the papers from a blog candy win- it is PaperPazazz and I just love the paper with the little girl. So, you mom's will get a kick out of this, remember I have boys- so I take it to show to my hubby, which I do on occassion if I am really happy with the outcome to see what he thinks. The first thing he says to me is, "Shouldn't she have a little less skin? Can't you color her shirt a little lower or something" Oh, I was laughing so hard, I can just see me trying to put MORE clothes on Sarah and I am sure her designer would be oh so thrilled! The flowers I also got with my blog candy and it matches so well with all the goodies I got. I took 3 of them and layered them to give me so me more depth and then I also popped the image up along with the flower. Put a missing you tag on it and done. Notice that I put the piece of paper under the image diagonal and that is because I have seen several of the ladies doing this and I really like the contrast I get. I feel like I do a lot of squares and everything symetrical so I wanted to change that up some. That is it for the evening.
