Hello! It is Sunday and ABC Toys and Craft Challenge Day!

We are going to be making Back To School items and we would love for you to join us: kick off the school year. My kids are not young anymore so this was a challenge for me. I tried to think of things that a teacher might use- and of course saying thanks along the way!

This little combination is a clipboard covered with October Afternoon Paper. I then used the Martha Stewart Punch at the top and long the 2/3 rd mark (above it is a tape measure ribbon). The ABC are chip chatter- I have had these awhile and just wasn't sure how to use them- is this not perfect? They are set off on circle spellbinders! The card also has the October Afternoon and Martha Stewart punch- then I also used the spellbinder label 4 and circle.

Get Your Diva On!

Oh my gosh! I feel like it has been forever since I got to actually set down and make a card that was for a specific challenge. So this one I am making for the Get your DIVA On challenge over at Verve. The focus was to use natural colors (cream/white, black/grey/brown) with a splash of color: I chose eggplant which is a color I never use. So this card I started with a cream background which I embossed with Textile Texture folder and SU flower folder. I also used the Martha Stewart quilted border punch. And you can barely tell but there is a kraft layer as well. And there it is! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Waitin on Santa

Good Morning!

Today's card I am showing you is for the KLSNS Snowflake Challenge as well as the Friday Sketcher Challenge. This image is a High Hopes image and I got it this last year and I just love it. I have 2 cats and I have on occasion found them in the tree peering out at me. I can't say they've hung on the branch like that but they are a little heavy for that. But lets say we do weight the tree down because of them.

I colored the image with my copic markers and then around the edges I just used a sponge to soften the stark white cardstock. I have gotten so I have been doing this alot and the air compressor works well for this too! I have also used the MS ornament punch and the branch punch on this card.

Just wanted to remind you that you can join the KLSNS Snowflake challenge and win a gift certificate and a stamp from Kelly so come on over and check it out. Plus you can use code NOV5 and get $5 off orders of $30 or more. And then of course, she is carrying the High Hopes now too.

I hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Christmas Critter

Happy Friday! I am off work today and I am actually running behind on my posting! Is that kind of funny? I typically load them the day before but figured since I was off I could do it this morning and here I am .............. LATE. But I am here, so I will share my creations. This first card just came together so easily and is definately one of those cards you can duplicate over and over. The stamp set is Christmas Critters by Penny Black and I just got it from Julie over at ABC Toys and Crafts. I colored that little critter with copics, the grosgrain is SU and then I used the snowflake cuttlebug folder to emboss the top layer. Do you see it? That wonderful border punch- that is the MS christmas ornament one. It is fabulous and it also makes confetti because all those little ornament punches are left over!

Fluttering Butterflies

Hello! Well it is another Friday (woot woot!) and I have 2 cards to show you today! Once again, I was in need of some simple cards that are everyday. I pulled out this set because it has such a variety of images and is simple to make everyday cards. This card I stamped the greens with SU Celery and Old Olive, colored the butterfly with my B21 and B24 copics- shading the inner edges darker.
This card here I just used the copics R20, R32, G20 and G24 to color the butterflies, once again shading the inner butterfly darker and lightening as I went outwards.

Spoil Yourself

Happy Friday all! I hope your week is going well and is coming to a nice ending........ I am hoping mine is too! So I was thinking of the weekend and the first thing I thought of was "spoiling" myself! So I pulled out my Penny Black set and got to work. I thought the paper was soothing and calming as well. I kept the card fairly simple don't you think? Add a couple colors that would help the image pop off the paper and a little border punch and done.
So where can you get this "spoiling set"? I got mine at ABC Toys and Crafts. Stop on over, Julie is having some great things going on:
1. BLOG CANDY - Fabulous tools HERE!
2. 25% off Inkadinkadoo stamps through Saturday 10/24.
Now- go and have a good weekend and SPOIL yourself!
Stamps: Penny Black Bubbly
Misc: MS Border Punch Floral lace, Nesties label four

Can you tell I am in the mood to make some holiday cards and gift cards? This top one could easily be used as a place setting card. It is only about 2.5 inches tall but a gift card could be attached to the inside with a little sticky. I have a little holiday wish stamped on the inside top so I can use it either way! Or if you were having company and wanted to label the holiday dishes, these little cards could sit in front of the dishes........ oh I am hosting this year and I think that I just might do that!
This one is a holiday gift card holder. I wanted to make something for my niece as I almost always purchase her a card to her favorite store. This will fit into a regular sized envelope making it easy to mail as well without being too bulky.
I hope you get some ideas with these two cards!

Edwin & a Friend

It is an Edwin day for me, this is one of my first Edwin stamps and I love him cause he can sit on the fence, on any of the accessories or he can just sit on the ground with his kitty and enjoy the day in the grass!

The DP is from Basic Grey Lime RickeyI just love the designs and the colors. Plus once again I was able to combine the papers and get a nice effect (hoping to get even better at this!) I almost feel like getting rid of all my other papers and keep just my BG because they are so yummy! (but I won't!, don't fret!) I stamped my image with Memento ink (black tuxedo) and then colored it with my copic markers (for all those new ladies- these are a MUST of course!) Then if you enlarge the picture you can see his wings sparkle, I love this and I used SHIMMERZ on them.

Speaking of shimmerz, Tab over at 7kidscollegefund is having a sale on them and she is going to give you 10% off if you use coupon code shimmer10. And don't forget to get your PRE-orders for the new Magnolia PET collection too!

Black Valentine

I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card that was different and yet elegant, obviously this one will not be for my hubby....... but you know, maybe you could. I got this sketch from off of SCS and changed it up a bit but sticking with SU Always stamp set. I used the black base which is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and then layered the white with birds n swirls cuttlebug folder- I thought this just made it perfect. The heart is stamped in black on white cardstock and yes- I did cut that darned thing out and then I slightly inked the edges of the card. The black eyelet lace is a MS punch but SU also has this new punch in their new catty! Yahoo! Added a little black and white ribbon- the kindness phrase and tada! What do you think- a success at making it a little different?

Okay- you ladies want a chance at some Blog Candy? Claudia over at Pretty Pressings has some wonderful new Alota stamps! Go and check it out! Once you see her blog you will be back everyday, I want to grow up to be like Claudia- oh wait, she is younger than me I think!

Also check out Paula's new release of stamps and her candy!
