BIG Hugs

Happy Sunday!

I got this sweet little Magnolia Tilda with the lady bug from Kelly this last week and could not help but ink her up right away! I am glad I did because it has been a crazy week with the holiday and travel for work so I saved her for you all.

I colored her of course with my copics, and of course Kelly is carrying them now too so if you need colors you should check out the KLStampinNScrappin for pre-orders! The DP is one of the stampin up packs for hostesses- I am not a huge green fan, as a matter of fact it is probably one of my most least favorite colors but I made myself choose a color I didn't care for as a challenge to myself. The background stamp is a High Hopes and I just masked Tilda to add it- The little felt trim is some that I purchased by the yard at Archivers. I really like the look of the felt on cards! I actually decorated the inside of this card as well and used the felt inside. The sentiment is one of my own that I printed on the computer.

Also note- today is the last day to get an additional 20% off already low pricing for pre-orders over at KLStampinNScrappin with coupon code MayPRE2009 plus FREE shipping. I am always amazed at how generous Kelly is and so I do hope you will stop over- she has new copics and some other new stamps to choose from so you have lots of variety and when you figure out the end price you will be amazed as well!

Have a great day!

Congrats

This little card is made with Darcie's stamps- once again the paper is mine: I had to choose something neutral so I went with this little DCWV paper pack that I have been wanting to use. I stamped the cage in SU rust and then I colored the bird with my copics- pretty close match too. But then I needed to put a little contrast in there so I added the flowers in SU mustartd and Kiwi. This little bird is wonderful to color and blend, I think it is because he is round and plump (giggle!)

Hope you have a blessed day!

Friends and Cherries

Today's Card features the little sitting Tilda in Cherry Dress coloredwith my copic markers (which I must say I need to get more of- they are too addicting aren't they?).

My paper is from the little girls stack from DCWV, I remember when I purchased this pack I loved the colors but really wondered if I would use them because they are girlie. I laugh because I always think I will make all these masculine cards and what do you see? Girlie cards! Ha- but it is just lots of fun to make them. So I am going to challenge myself NEXT week to make 2 masculine cards.

Ok, then to be honest with you I got the card done and thought it was bare- so I added the swirl made with just vellum. I didn't want to take away from the paper but it just needed a little something. I like the swirl from Sizzix but I find it difficult to work with. If you have a swirl die cut that you use and enjoy- post some links to your cards so I can see them- I would love to use them more.

Happy Bird-day!

This is one of the cards I made using the Darcie stamp set that I got. Now the product here is not what came in the kit- I have not even pulled all that stuff out but I had this card in my mind and wanted to make it before I lost it. I just love the little birds that come in this set- there are 3 of them along with the branch, the cage and then some little flowers and sentiments. I chose a Bird-day sentiment for this one of course. I colored with copics and then I added a little stickles to the flowers although you can not see it well. So here is a little closer up picture of the stickles on the flowers.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend all!

Sweet You!

To celebrate the sale over at 7kidscollegefund I thought I would pull out one of my wood mounted house mouses and ink him up. I just love this little fella, although lets really think about this- if you saw a little field mouse sniffing a flower would you want to put him on a card? Yikes......... but you can't resist with this little guy! I used Momento Tuxedo black ink and then my copics to color him up. I then pulled out the flower soft- I love this stuff but do not use it as often as I should. If you have not tried it- it is easy and not messy at all to use. You just use the flower soft glue first and then drop a pinch of colored flower soft on the glue, press and set for a minute and then put the excess back in the container. It give the card a great UMPH I think! I added a few little dew drops and ribbon and all done! Hope you like him.

Shrink Em' Up!

I just have to show you all this sweet new product that I got last weekend at the Mega Meet. It is put out by Darcie's and if you've been to any of the scrapbook shows and saw her display you would just be sucked in (right Denise?) It is bright, cheerful, whimsical and she has the most awesome packaging- you can buy templates for about any type of container and then she sells the larger designer paper in sheets that are like 12x24 to make all the boxes! BUT, what first got our attention are these shrinky dinks! We got to make them right there- they are printed on inkjet shrinky dink paper and you cut them out and within 30 sec you have a shrinky dink by using your heat tool. Well I ended up signing up for Darcie's Club because she had a wonderful special that if you bought the kit you got a package of the software and paper to make these shrinky dinks ($25 value). LOL- I know, I convinced myself it was worth it- but you got a complete set of stamps, all the product to make the cards, boxes and all the other goodies. Here is a picture of the club kit........ I made a couple cards with the stamps and will show you them a little later.
You get all the supplies, stamps and stickers to make the projects each month. This kit was a show special, the next shipment went out but I elected to skip it since I just got this one but I will antiicpate the next one in June! If you stop over at Darcie's let her know Heidi sent you from the show (yeah, like she'll remember little ole me- but I have to place an order anyways and I will let her know I sent ya!)

Have a great day!

Circles...........

I was looking at challenges this week and someone had one using circles. I love circles and thought I would give it a go. I ended up using my Tilda with puppy Magnolia stamp from Kelly because I had not inked it up for a bit and it was sad. The DP is from the SU hostess sets and I wanted to use softer colors and well, to get away from pink (although I love pink of course!) The card itself is simple and just really just has circles punched and layered with coordinating paper. I just love that little blonde tilda! LOL!

Have a great day!

Friday Sketchers

Happy Friday- I can tell you that I have got to be one of the happiest person in the world right now!

So I had this gorjus girl colored from this last week and thought I would put it to good use and make a card with it. So have you seen the Friday Sketcher Challenge sketch? Well it was perfect for this little gal! She loves circles and the colors of yellow and rust fit right in with her and her kitty. LOL! The paper is one of the DCWV paperpacks that are out and I just love this set of papers, kind of neutral, outdoorsie and whimsical too! (thanks Denise for splitting with me, that is what we do since I know I don't need the entire pack) My circles are made with the circle nesties.

Stop on over to Friday sketchers and get to work- plus what cute little Elzybell Bears (I am wanting them so badly, Claudia uses them all the time and I just need an Elzybell so badly!)

Making a Masterpiece

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are all having a good start to your week and getting lots of crafting and blurfing done! I apologize for the "lightness" of this photo but I just could not get this one to come out vibrant, not sure if it is the lighting or the softness of the papers.

Last night I pulled out this little sweet Tilda in the rain from the new Butterflies collection that I got from 7kidscollegefund because I had yet to expose it to some ink! Imagine that...... so I stamped her with Momento tuxedo black on Neenah cardstock and then colored her with my copic markers. I really only used about 4-6 colors (R20 R22 Y21 Y26 E31 and E33) which matched with the lovely designer paper that is from Basic Grey Two Scoops line. The image is matted on the Spellbinder Nestabilities Inverted Circle die which I used SU So Saffron. The large eyelet and the grosgrain are also SU and the little drops are dew drops.

Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day Ladies!

I hope you are all having a fabulous day, spending time with your kids and being pampered. I will be going to my mother's house and fixing her dinner and spending time with her and with my own children.

Today's card is made using Tilda with tag stamp from Magnolia. She has been colored using copic markers that I thought went very well with the DP chosen. I wanted to use something strong but still a little elegant and motherly. I don't even know who makes the DP because I only got 2 6x6 pieces of it in a swap but looking at it, it might be basic grey. I then accented the scallop border using the pearls that Kelly sent to me- these are so fun and easy to use. You must check them out.

Have a wonderful day ladies!

MOM

Today's project is a little one that I put together this last week in anticipation of Mother's Day more as a little gift but you could of course use it for anything. It is a little card box that will hold about 6 cards and envelopes or I was able to get a candy bar in there as well!

The image is from the Magnolia Butterfly collection called Tilda with a bee- now I am not sure I would be so cute holding a bee! LOL. I inked her with Momento Tuxedo black ink on Neenah Paper and then colored her with coordinating copics, which I like to pick out and match to my paper before I even get started. The paper itself is from a K&Co collection that I have. The little rick rack ribbon is from a recollections pack (cute huh?) and then the big ole' prima with the mom charm in it (thanks to Cindy for those!) The little shape behind Tilda is a nestabilities label 1

The back side of the box I did simple, it just has a strip of the eyelet border across it. Then I used a little velcro to hold it closed. But I did punch, using my circle punch a half circle so that the cards and envelopes can easily be pulled out of the box. Then you can fill the box with a variety of items based on the size. The finished size of the box is 6x4.5x.5 inches. I will put together a little tutorial on making it and post it at a later date if you would all like it.

So that is it for the day- have a fabulous day!~ Heidi

Smilin' Donkey

I had made this little card for a challenge that I missed out on, oops! But I wanted to share it with you anyways! The image is an Alota stamp that Michelle O sent to me- as you know her she is the Donkey Lady! I just love reading her posts on Saturday with the pictures of the donkeys.

I colored the little donkey with my copics and the DP is from the newest hostess designer paper pack and matched it up with some bue cardstock which I stuck in the embosser and wha la! I had to use that sentiment because it was the first thing that I could think of! It just makes me smile. Simple, quick and fun!

Have a FAB day! I have to head out for meetings today so I had to get dressed too! Yikes......

Take Care at Queen Kat

This is my last card for the Queen Kat Design Team spot. I once again used the swirly tree stamp and this time I used a waxed technique where I used a white crayon and then my inks with some daubers to swirl the colors. The paper is SU DP from about a year ago I think but I can not recall the name of it (but you will I am sure!). I actually went so far as to use a little bit of metal on this card too!

Sorry this post is short but it is a busy weekend and so I am trying to plan ahead for the week with posts and things. Have a wonderful week all!

Catchin Butterflies

Oh Edwin, are you not having fun or what! Isn't he just the cutest little guy, running and chasing Butterflies. This is one of the new images from the Magnolia Butterflies Collection. I inked Edwin with Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with my copics. This card is also going to be used for a challenge on Roses on Paper using aqua, butter and apricot. At first I was like, uh, I don't know but it does make for a very springy card doesn't it? Plus, I think that I was able to make Edwin look preppy! LOL!. The butterfly is from SU garden whimsy set..... I had it popped up and put a little bit of stickles on it to make it shimmer!

You can find the new Magnolia's over at KLSNS as well............ Kelly is pre-ordering and so go and check em out.
