New Color!

I just love this card, it just pops I think. I used Garden Whimsy from the SU line and then I used two of the new colors that SU has put out for Fall 2008. It is Baha Breeze and ....... oh my gosh I forgot the name and can't find my catty. But it is a nice fall/soft orange. I stamped the butterfly in the orange and the flowers in the baha, sprinkled a little stickles on and now they sparkle a little bit. The satin ribbon is from Micheal's dollar bin and it matches perfectly. The corners I did with my piercing matte. The sentiment is actually a partial of a sentiment in my new set (freeby for SAB) called God's Blessings.
I hope you all have a great Friday and catch you later!

What is Blog Candy?

Good morning ladies! I just wanted to share with a few of you, for those that are stuck on what blog candy is. I mean, can you eat it? No Can you unwrap it? Well, I guess you can if YOU win it! Can you buy it at the store? Once again- possibly but really, who wants to buy it if YOU can win it!

A lot of wonderfully creative ladies are out there and they offer wonderful little packages of goodies to you- a thank you for visiting their blog. Now, I typically sign up for blog candy if it is a site that I frequent or that I really find creative motivation from that person. It is also a great way to get new viewers to your blog- lets be honest here. But I think that the real thing is that we all like to "give" to others............... and sheesh, who doesn't like to get a little prize here and there, right? (hand waving in air!).

So as you check out my blog- check out those wonderfully creative ladies on my blog candy roll call to the right and who knows what you might win. I added Piper, Jacqui, and Hanne to my list yesterday and today!

Have a good one and I will be back later to show a card I made with 2 new SU colors!

Waiting for a friend

Today's card is so bright and cheerful, even my hubby really likes her. She is a Hanglar image that I got from my friend Claudia and I chose a bright color DP which is K&Co and so I wanted her to match the orange in the paper. I colored her with my copic markers. I used pumpkin pie for the scallop/embossed rectangle and to matte the blue. The ribbon is also pumpkin pie from SU. The sentiment is a SU sentiment. This card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 which I find accomodates the larger images so well and gives me a change.
With that I will leave you for the evening, I have a couple more projects to post this week and I am playing with a couple of my new colors from SU tonight.

Envelope Purse

I am sure that many of you have seen the carousel card purses that were being made earlier this year. Well I had some regular sized PINK envelopes and I really wanted to make a cute purse out of it so I set to work on it. The base of this is 2 A2 envelopes that I got from Marco Paper, the DP is all from the DCWV paper packs, SU grosgrain ribbon. I used the Magnolia Image because............... well, this was a gift that I gave to Claudia for having me into her home last weekend. As many of you know I went and spent the day and I do mean, the day- I didn't leave there until 11pm. We had such a wonderful time......... but shall I digress or what?
The little pink heart charm I got in a 24 days of Christmas swap from Batgirl on SCS and it was so perfect for this purse. This is a picture of the inside of the purse and inside the envelopes are circles that you could journal on or put messages. Now, I always think of these as photo albums but they truly could be turned into cards! Honestly, I would love to get a card like this! I hope that Claudia enjoys it and is able to put it to good use.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend..... today was beautiful and it suppose to be even nicer tomorrow so I am hoping to get some "sun" time in preparation for our upcoming vacation next month. So tata for now.

Just Do It!

You ever have one of those (of course you do) dreams that you want to do something fun, exciting in your life that maybe isn't want you went to "college" for but would be something so cool to do? Well that is what Katharina is doing! She has founded her own stamp company called Whiff of Joy Stamps! I found her blog and just fell in love with her images because they are fun and of course, they have little boys! I have always been looking for boyish images, hence my love for Precious Moments and Magnolias. Well she put out a call for design team members and well, since I love the images I thought I would give it a try. So, here is my take on her sketch. Wish me luck!

I used a Precious Moment Stamp and colored it with my copic markers. The paper is from the baby boy DCWV paper packs layered on the new SU Baha Breeze and So Saffron. I then used my sizzlets to cut out the little ice cream cone for the sentiment. Couldn't help myself, it was just too cute. I popped the ice cream and the main image off the page a little bit, added some stickles to the ice cream- doesn't it just look yummy enough to eat. That little pooch sure is happy! Hope you enjoyed the card!

Coloring and More!

This first card I made is with an image that I got on SCS called Birdie Bath and it is a Whipper Snapper image. I fell in love with this little bird the first time I saw it. So- this is my card that I am going to post for Kraftin Kimmie's blog candy challenge. All you have to do is use her sketch, make a card and post it on your blog or on SCS- easy peasy! So whatcha waiting for? Take a look at what she is giving away- Magnolia stamps. They are yummy and cute all in one. As you can see in this picture I lifted the image off the nestie and I added stickles to the water and also to the prima flowers. I used copics to color the image- a couple grey's, blues, yellow and pink. It was fairly simple to do this one and I love how it turned out. I left it blank so I can jot a note in it and send it off when I wanted to.
Thank you for checking in, I am going to try and post another pic later as I have been just working like a slave girl on stuff lately. LOL!

Bestest Friends

Good Sunday all! This is a sweet Tilda card, I can't recall her name but I thought she was so just cute. I used Ruby Red SU paper for the card and the scallop and the DP is Cosmo Cricket, which is another paper that I just love now. I colored her with my SU markers and my copic markers combined and it worked well together. I spent some time yesterday with Claudia (pretty pressings) trying to perfect my face coloring- still need to work on that though. This is a card that I made by following Claudia's sketch on Friday Sketchers- if you ladies need some inspiration I recommend that you try one of these Sketch Challenges to get your mojo going. I know I have been participating in a few of them and it gives me something to get me going.

Some of you ladies that were asking about the blog candies that I post about, I have started a BLOG CANDY roll call over on the right upper left of my blog. So I recommend that you check out the websites........ these ladies have a lot of talent and give away some fun goodies. You can see Marlene's, Kristines, Yummy Scrummy, Maya's and Lorraine's Goods!

Oh Nellie!

I got this sweet Nellie image from Lorien and is she not the sweetest little girl? I made this card for A spoon full of Sugar Challenge's One for the girl. It of course had to use a little girl and I am thinking I will add a sentiment to this one. I just thought she was cute with her little birdie on her head. Have a great weekend. Heidi

Togetherness

I got together with a few of my friends last week (hi Denise, Amy and Sue!) and I was telling them how much I am into coloring my images now. To think that 5 months ago all I did was stamp and matte and that was it. Now, I can't stand to just stamp without adding some other colors to my work. This little precious moments was calling my name and it fit perfectly on this circle nestie so I put it on and colored away. I had enough of the soft copics to get the look I wanted for this image. I am absolutely thrilled with it. The DP is one of the SU ones- it is retired and I don't have the name any longer but it was perfect that it said Together across the top.
I hope you enjoy this one and thanks for stopping by ladies (well and any gents that are lurking too!)

Friday Sketchers Challenge

I was trying so hard to participate in the Friday Sketcher Challenges that Claudia and her friends had going but I just got behind. So I decided I would give it a try this week and post something. This is a new stamp I got, it is one of the older ones and I do not even know the name of it, but thought I would give it some ink. I used one of the pieces of paper from the Designer Pack, card base is real red and the scallop is brocade blue I do believe (thanks to Anita for those!).

He looks like a little ol' man doesn't he? But so cute and the message was one I had printed on my computer the day before and it just matched so well I thought. I wish I was better at pictures because I think this card is cuter than it appears.

So then I have to post one more picture because it is so summery and cheerful. I love how I was able to use the copics and get the effect that I wanted (do you remember when I said, I will not buy copics- I will use SU markers and my water brush?) Tilda is standing in some wheat which would seam to be Fall but the background I got out of one of my DCWV paper books- it is so cute and sparkly. Well I hope you enjoy these and hope to post in another day or two.

Hippo Day!

I just had to ink up this Hippo that I got from High Hopes last month, it has been sitting waiting for ink all this time! So I thought, what better time than to post it for a challenge. I used the DCWV paperpack for the background. I stamped the image and colored it with my copics, added a couple primas. Oh the prima's I found them at Mike's and they have some awesome colors, pink, red, teal and apple green! So pretty- I need them all! Then I used my treading water punch on the top. Then I had to have a cute saying and asked Jake what the hippo might be saying and this is what he chose. Hope you like him.
Thanks,
Heidi

Oh and BLOG CANDY ALERT:

Check out SHARY's blog candy! Congrats Shary on becoming a DT member.

File Card

This is a little pocket card with a file type of card in it. I used SU designer paper with wild wasabi background- I am going to miss that color! I used really rust for the flower on the front and then wild wasabi stitched ribbon. I like this card because it uses the DP and has a lot of elements that you might now always use. This will fit in a standard envelope as long as you keep the tab down low enough. I am going to make this card with some friends that will be coming over this week- I hope they like it.
I will try and be back on again this week! In the meantime Happy Stamping!!!
