Go Confidently

Hello and Happy Sunday!

It was time for a few of us ladies to get together this last Friday and this is the card that I chose to make. I just love this paper pack and can't wait to get the new line that is out now- all the newsprint and number/letters. And the inspiration, love the sentiment. And it was fun to add elements and shapes. I hope you all have a splendid week!

Time to Move on.......

Well the Super Bowl is over and it is now time for all of us to move on into the rest of 2011. I always laugh because our first month of the year is recovering from the Christmas holidays, packing everything away and then "who is going to play in the superbowl?" and of course, all the party food! And lets be honest, even if we don't watch the game we are there to see the half time show and the new commercials, right? So, tonight we say Congrats to the Packers and be DONE with it. :) While I listened to the game and caught glimses of the commercials I worked on cards. This is one of the Valentine's cards that I made for Simon Says Stamps and the ABC Challenge in which Julie gave us some pictures to use for inspiration. I chose a rose filled heart in pinks. The first thing that I did is take this new little stamp Daisy Bucket designs called loves me and stamped it on white cardstock and inked the edges w/ pink piroquette. I then used my versamark and utee and put about 4 coats on it, stuck it in the freezer for a couple of minutes and then crackled it- putting a bit more red in the cracks. I really love this type of embellishment, even though it takes a little time it is always well worth the work. A close up for you............Then I used the wonderful SU Valentine pack and paired with grey (my new favorite neutral!). Just a nice soft Valentine! I just realized, I forgot to add my stickles to my roses - this is one of my favorite things to do lately, just makes them look more elegant! Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!
Heidi
PS: for those of you that live local- stop into Polly's Paper Studio (by Ed Bock's!). I paid her a visit for the first time and was delighted with her selection of high end scrapbooking items (Webster's Pages, Cosmo Cricket, and beautiful paper roses!). I got this wonderful stamp there too!

Hello everyone! Today's card I is quite simple but I thought elegant and pretty. I embossed it with the SU embossing folder and added some sparkle. AND.... what you could do with this card, birthday, thank you, etc......
Hope you enjoy and it gives you some elegant ideas.

Vintage Day

Happy Saturday!
I am so loving this vintage Christmas background stamp from SU. I stamped this in cherry cobbler on some DSP- doesn't it look just fabulous on it? The only issue, and it really isn't much of an issue, is that little blank spot at the top right- I feel like I always have to have a sentiment or something to go in there. This card just has a warm and vintage feel to me. If you like this stamp it is in the new mini catalog!

Peace, Hope, and Love

Today's card is one that I made using one of my new SU sets. I just love the sentiment and the colors together are so yummy. Cherry cobbler, olive and browns: and although they are not really true christmas colors they come together to make a rich elegant card, don't you think? I am entering this card in the SSIC challenge that required us to use a sentiment of peace.

Bold Birthday!

Welcome back! It is Sunday and I am hoping to be sleeping in! :) But I had to show you this card, I am loving it. It is not something that I would typically do (color/style) but had seen something similar and just had to give it a try. Plus, those big numbers on that SU DSP had really thrown me for a loop- had no idea what to do with it! So I used poppy and pear with the black and it really looks cool (more so in RL I think!). I thought you could easily change this card up and make it masculine or feminine too! Hope you enjoy and have a great Sunday!

Simple and Clean

Hello everyone! Today's card is, or shall I say my cards are simple cards that I needed to have on hand. You know how every now and then you want a clean card, small one (4x4) that you can jot a quick note down? I made these for that exact occasion. I am also thinking of making a few more sets (masculine ones as well) and putting them in our local craft show in November. I am hoping that it is something that might sell well.

I used a friendship SU set and used earth tone colors. The simple little border lines are hand drawn just to give it a little extra. Then the speckling is also a SU background stamp. LPS Challenge was to make it simple and clean- They are pretty simple arent' they? Honestly it took me less than 10min to make this entire set- isn't that cool?

Ok, off I go! I am in a happy mood this evening as I got to talk to my son and he started his classes yesterday and I miss him! Take care- Heidi

Oranges and Lemons?

Does this remind you of summer or what? All that orange and yellow, and green. Well that or else you feel like an orang/lemon drink! LOL. I am going to participate in a craft show this fall and I am trying to make up some thank you, birthday, and a few sympathy/wedding cards, along with Christmas of course to sell. I don't usually do well at craft shows but my youngest son said he would sit at the booth and try to sell. I may try some notebooks or something else like that as well- we will have to see how much time I have.
The paper is October Afternoon (hope you are NOT tired of it)and SU. Just a feel good card! Thanks for stopping in today- and hope it is a good one for you all!

Hidden Message

Am I jumping around the holidays or what? LOL! Today's card I made a little special because when I saw the sketch I thought it would be fun to have the card be a little interactive. The house is stamped and then I used markers to color the moon and windows. The piece is not actually attached completely to the base, just at the top, side, bottom- to allow the piece with the tree to slide in.
Here is a better picture of what I have done with the hidden message. You just pull the tab and out it comes. The tree is actually matted and then I used a 3D pop dot to attach it to the base, this allows it to slide over the picture. All the product is SU.

Happiness Abounds

Hello everyone! Welcome back- as you can see I have another sweet card using a Verve sketch. I just love the simplicity and ease of them. I used the SU embossing folder to give the plain part a little definition. And as you see- the colors are gorgeous (well I think so!). Hope you enjoyed it.

100 Days................

Hello you all- I have been missing for a couple days- sorry. Just didn't have anything made and didn't have any time to get something done for you all. But, I finally set my mind to it, plugged in my MOJO and went on over to VERVE to get some inspiration. They have a new release coming out on Friday so lots of sketches (and you know how much I LOVE Julee's sketches.
So this is using my SU DSP from a pack out of last years stash. I just really wanted to use this color with black and the sketch was perfect.
So, what do you think?

Map your birthday.....

So, here is another masculine card for this week. The background is a Cover-All stamp that I got this weekend (again, my husband made me buy it- :) ). I stamped it in cocoa and then the card is made again with the lighthouse stamp (ODBD) which I used a bit of copics, colored pencils, blender pen and distressing. I am really happy with this one as well- I am always struggling with the masculine cards. Hope you enjoyed!

Lighthouse Birthday!

This weekend I got to go to the local stamp convention and my wonderful husband came along with me. He saw this stamp and thought it would be great to make masculine cards. Well who was I to deny him the purchase (I think he had me spending twice as much as I would have!). Anyways, so this card was stamped in black and then I stamped the lighthouse again and then used the crackle tecnique to do the lighthouse. And well, I do think that it turned out masculine.
This sketch is one of my fail safe sketches, easy and quick to use so I entered it for the ODBD Challenge.

Have a great day!

Beary Birthday!

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me today. I am excited to show you this card because it is a new stamp that I got from my friend Jilanne and he is adorable AND he is a bear. So of course, I am going to enter him for the Cute Bear Challenge which is to do anything but square and a tag (in my case- it is a tab). LOL!

I colored this sweet Penny Black with my copics and used some tasty DSP. See that little weave on the baja breeze? Well that is one of the new SU embossing folders and I just adore it because it is so country(ish) and I also think that it is one that you can always use to give your card the masculine feel (something I can always use some help with). As you probably already know, the tab punch is also SU.

With that- I finish for the day! Have a good one and hope to you will stop over again!

Courage

Today's card was made for someone in mind, someone that is serving in the military and I thought she might like it. I find it most amazing that these young men and women are so willing to go through the gruelling basic training and the day to day hardships they do to defend their country. They are all my hero! Of course over on the Verve Parade for this month the challenge is to make items that reflect our heroes (is that spelled right?). The dSP came out of one of my K&Co paper books, the stamps is SU from a few years ago. I love it and like to leave it simple in black or brown.

I hope you enjoy it and have a blessed day!

God Bless

So today's project is a bookmark! I have been having fun making a variety of different bookmarks for friends and I thought what better way to do this than for a HERO? (Verve Project Parade) So I used that wonderful Nestabilities label (funny story, I almost bought it the other day- only to find it tonight in my storage, I had forgotten that I bought it a couple months ago! ) and the rest is SU cardstock. Not sure about the DSP- a friend gave me the paper. This is really cute in person and easy to throw in the mail to a friend!
Thanks for stopping in!

Hero

Good Day! I am glad that you are back, as I have mentioned most recently it has been a bit of a struggle keeping my blog up because I don't have as much time to craft it seems. So, I am going to give it another try and see if I can keep up- I had thought about taking a hiatus but I really enjoy the crafting and dang, I have SO much stuff I can't imagine not crafting. :) So today's card is another one I am doing for the Verve Project Parade. I just love this sentiment and what an honor for someone to receive this- I think that you could truly send this to your HERO, don't you? All the cardstock is SU.
I hope you enjoyed it and see you later!

Just a CASE

So over at Verve they have had the project parade the last few days and the theme this month is making projects in recognition of your HERO. Well Amber made the sweetest card and so I decided to CASE it. :)
I know exactly who I will mail this to as well- one of my son's friends is in basic training right now and I thought this would be the perfect card to send to him next. I am trying to send him a card every few weeks. With that being said, that is all for today!

Have a great Sunday!

Tangerine and Lemons

That is all that I can think of when I look at this photo! I think of lemons, tangerines, and limes! I know, they are flowers but for some reason I think of fruit. This entire card is made using SU DSP and cardstock. The sentiment is also from the hostess level III. The little pearls are not SU though...... :) It is a card that I did for my class last night- just cheerful!

Color Showdown

Hello! Today's card is one that I made for a challenge that I have never participated in but loved the color challenge. Plus it has some goodies available to the participants. Color Showdown #100 which you had to use rose, celery, red and baja. Well I love those colors so here is my take on the challenge.
Have a fabulous Day!
