It is time for OWOH!!!!

Well today is the day you have all been waiting for (or at least many of us!). The OWOH blog hop and give away! This is the wonderful idea of Lisa and it was her goal or dream maybe, to bring all of us bloggers together. To make introductions, to meet new people, to learn new things and of course but to share our creativity! Kind of like bringing kindred spirits together! This is my second year and I had so much fun last year.

So WELCOME to you all! For those of you who do not know me- I am an avid stamper and this has become my passion over the last few years. I also enjoy altering items, using my sewing machine on cards (not a seamstress by any means!) I typically sit down in my crafting "studio" 3-4 evenigns a week to let my creativity (sometimes frustrations) flow. I find it relaxing and a great outlet. I hope you will take some sime to browse my blog, who knows we may become followers of one another due to this hop! So now, my biggest issue after making all the cards is sending them out/giving them away. I am always thinking, will it end up in the trash if I mail it to him/her?

So, without further ado, my gift to you- a set of cards/envelopes.
To be eligible here are some rules:
1. You must have an active blog
2. Leave me a comment on this post including your OWOH number to contact you
3. I will use random org.com to choose the winner on 2/18.
Good Luck and Happy Blog Hopping!

Cased Again

Hello and happy Friday evening everyone! I hope you are gearing up for a good weekend. I think that we are going out to the movies since my son is home from college. So some family outings and fun stuff hopefully.
Today's card is very simple and it is another card that I decided to CASE from the waltzingmouse Grand Caliber event last week. I don't have the GC but I saw this card of Carly's and it was so cute and simple. She used burlap but I didn't have any so I used some tea stained linen. Now I will say, this card was a little more difficult for me, lots of blank space. Not used to leaving all that non-embossed or covered with something! But it will do, it was suppose to be a little simple, right? I wanted to put a tag on it, but I just couldn't find anything that worked for me.
You all have a great weekend- and don't forget the 30th is the One World One Heart Event so stop back!

A CASE Card

Before I forget......... don't YOU forget about the One World One Heart Event starting on January 30th. Hundreds of ladies will be doing a blog hop and everyone will be offering prizes! Yep, hundreds of crafty prizes to win! Stop in here, or better yet- join us! Just click on the logo on the right over there and get the details!
So- now onto my card. I happened to run into a new stamp company this last week thanks to Julee, she is such a little enabler and she probably doesn't even know. LOL! So I was browsing the Waltzingmouse site and found their blog and they are having a CASE contest. So this card is using one of Sandy's cards that I thought was so sweet and wanted to CASE. The stamp is shamrock digital and it is free, yep- it is a shamrock bundle that I turned into a pink bouquet! It was so nice to be able to use my copics again.

Valentine Collage

Hello Everyone! Today's card is what I would kind of call a collage and I took inspiration from Julee over on Mojo monday. She made an absolutely beautiful card the other day and it had hearts and pink/red/kraft and I was just in awe over it. So I pulled out my stuff and this is what I came up with. Now I did not do the CASE justice but like the collage feeling of it. The bigger red heart was punched with SU punch and then I used crackle paint and rock candy covering on it so it is crackled and shiny. This card is a 5x5 square!

My Love

Ah- the colors on this card just make me feel happy and full of LOVE! Don't you? I also got to put my new little nestabilities to good use. So to pull it together, I used the K&Co Valentine pack, the hearts are one side and the polka dots are the other side. The edges of the pack are all die cut so I didn't have to do anything special with them. They are really cute too! The pink trim is a basic grey border pack that I have had for years and forgotten about. The red heart was punched with SU heart punch and then a MS punch heart on the inside, added a little white signo pen and wha-la! The smaller pink heart is inked with Verve and cut out: covered with hard rock candy (tim holtz).

Birthday Happy!

Hello and thanks for coming back today! As I have shared in the epast I want to catch up on birthday cards and on ones I can use for men/boys. So this card is one I thought "might" be used for a man (uhem, hubby disagreed again- no use of that border punch!). I just looked at him, rolled my eyes and said- I can give it to a man, I don't care anymore. LOL! I mean, look at the card it is simple and plain. What more does a man need.
Ok, enough of that stuff- I hope you are all staying warm and getting some fun crafting time. I am focusing on Valentine stuff!

Could this be it?

Ok, so I attempted to make another "male" card. I know, I still used the same paper because I thought it WAS guyish. I didn't ask my hubby this time, LOL! But I just liked the simplicity of it (that in itself make it guyish, right?) Have a fabulous weekend!

Beautiful You

Hello! I would like to thank you for stopping by today. This particular card is one that I made some time ago for one of the Verve challenges. It is a very simple card but elegant and of course, those can be my most favorite cards. And see that little flower peeking at you? Yep, that is one of my little heartfelt creations/spellbinder flowers. This is definately growing to be one of my most favs!

Bigger Wishes

OH I am so glad you stopped in today, I have a little favor to ask of you all. Now don't be shy either! Apparently my husband was NOT! I mean you know how I always talk about not having enough birthday cards, right? Well I figured I would make some that were a little less girlie and frilly using the Mojo sketch. Maybe ones I could send to a male. Uhem, well I guess I have no idea what I was thinking! I showed it to my husband and he said, "absolutely not..... what is with the dots? And if these were screws it might be a guy card." So- I guess I didn't realize these were not the right colors, that you can not use lines/dots for male cards. What makes a good male card?

Be Mine

Happy Hump Day! Wednesday's always give me a boost to get me to the weekend! I have been trying to use up some of my stash of papers and this little print is one of them, the little polka dot is the opposite side of the paper. I started out using one of the Verve sketches and then it just went way off course so I thought let me make something for the DIVA DARE challenge going on, a card for a little special someone. I pulled out my heart doillies and the SU punch and went to rearranging over and over. I spent way to much time on positioning and colors for this card but I think that I finally got it to the point that I was content with the outcome. My little banner (inspired by the new nestabilities coming out!) was hand made.

Smilin' Valentine!!

Happy Monday!
This weekend I was determine to get down to business and work on my January Verve sketch over on SCS. It really is a good one but I will say that cock eyed element threw me for a loop. Typically I can work with it but not sure if it was the double ribbon or what.

The hearts are made with the SU heart punch, PTI ribbon, button and library card stamp. I found the white lace trim in my stash and just folded it in half to give it a little vintage feel.

Have a fabulous week!

Hot Pink

Geesh, Where have I been? I know, it has been since Wednesday that I posted! Well last night- I was at the Kid Rock 40th Birthday BASH! Yep, me........... I must be honest and say it is my first Kid concert but we had a great time and he really did put on a fabulous show and had alot of guests join him. A real Detroit birthday bash for the Kid!
I have no excusefor not posting in some time so I am hoping this hot little number will make up for it. I used some of my retired SU cardstock and to be honest, they are not pinks that I really care for. They strike me as to bright and bold so I have always had a hard time using them but putting them with black- well it just seemed so natural. It was a little DARE I had for myself to use them. This card is one I am entering in the DIVA DARE challenge.

Give em some love!

Ah............. hello everyone. So glad that you stopped on over. Today I got to use my brand new pad of DSP. It is double sided and it coordinates which I love- it seems so many companies are making them so they don't match well, which is disappointing. So I got to finally work on the Mojo Monday challenge and this is what I came up with. I went with a Valentine card since I do want to send them out this year. I guess I am getting a little addicted to this theme, so cute and yummy! (no I am not eating them.... ) Have a wonderful day!

Score......

I popped onto my blog this morning and went, where is today's post? Low and behold I had not prepared one! Imagine that. So I went through my uploads and found this sweet little birthday card that I made this last weekend. I know I say this all the time but I just don't have many birthday cards made up so I like this one. And to dress up the bottom of the card I just scored it both directions. Now, I do not have a scorepal so I just used my trimmer and it was very easy. I really need to get a few more Birthday Greetings as this is my ole' faithful one I pull out all the time. So that is it- have a great day and stay warm!

A little Gift

This little card is made obviously with the snowflake embossing folder and the nestabilites snowflake dies, oh and the MS snowflake punch! And do you see the little snowflake ribbon? I guess I was feelin' flaky! LOL! And this is what it looks like on the inside, I hope my friend likes the gift. What an easy way to dress up a little gift without the wrapping paper.

Valentine Fun

Love and Life.....

Hello and welcome back! Glad to see you coming around again. Today's card is made using some of the new DSP I got but dang if I can recall the name and it is downstairs. Shame on me, right? The sketch is for the Verve January Challenge, week 2 and I just love how the card turned out. The DSP pieces are not totally matching (which I always like) but they look so good together, kind of yummy! And that beautiful satin bow and the Websters trinket attached, nice huh?

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Today's card was alot of fun for me to make. ABC's challenge was just that sentiment "Baby it's cold outside" and so I thought about the sentiment and what it would look like to me. And well, this is what I came up with. A snowman standing outside the window looking in. LOL, that makes sense doesn't it? So I picked this beautiful blue color for the main focus and then added a little red to make it pop. I colored the magnolia image with copics and then for the actual windo I used some plastic. I embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder and then I used "snow" substance around the window panes. I tried to capture this in the following photo. The card itself is so pretty but the photo does not do it any justice. One of those cards you go, hm..... "who is good enough to receive this card and will not throw it away" Oh, am I the only one that does that? :) I hope you are all staying warm!

Sunny Day!

Well here I am again with a bright and cheerful card. It has been so cold and I had that DSP sitting out from the weekend and I figured I better use it versus putting it into my scrap drawer, I just hate to do that with this sweet paper. I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch again since it was so cute anyways- what do you think? And these new stamps are Verve as well and I am lovin this new set!

Simple

I just wanted to show you these very simple holiday cards I made just before Christmas- I also made them with Happy New Year sentiments (for those that I didn't send out Christmas cards to). Aren't they just beautiful? I stamped these in baha breeze and then added matching crystals. The snowflakes are from Stampin Up.

Friends and Fruit

Hello everyone! I hope that your new year has started off to a good start! Mine was as I have been off work still- going back today. So it was nice to have some time to spend on the Mojo Monday Challenge that Julee posted. Once again, I was looking for something bright and cheerful and went with this K & CO yummy paper pack. And isn't that sweet heart perfect? I found a handful of the pink ones, all types of hearts just in time for Valentine's cards. I was just telling someone earlier today that I have never been a Valentine person (hubby and I don't celebrate) so I have not been one to make them. But .... you may be seeing some since I have already made some already later this week for you. So see you then!

Ghandi................

That man had some wonderful things to say didn't he? Of course it is always nice when those wonderful stamp creators put them onto rubbah too! :) So this little box was inspired by a money box that was given to one of my boys last year. I kept it and finally just today I sat down to make it. I had to do all the measuring, scoring, re-scoring to get it right. But it finally turned out for me and made me pleased. The base of the box is made with semi-thick cardstock that I covered with DSP and cardstock on both sides, giving it more strength and stability. The actualy, box part as you can see below is made of the same chipboard and covered around the edges with DSP. The one thing I dislike on projects like this is matching all the scorings up- and this required both sides!

The sketch on the outside of the box is done with an older pack of S.U. DSP and following one of the Verve sketches for January 2011. I realized after I completed the pictures that you can't really see the little hearts and beads on the front- but they are very cute.

This is obviously the inside of the box and I was thinking that you could put a little divider in it to put a couple different kinds of treats in it. I found these cute little Valentine candy corns the other day and knew they fit the bill.

Take care and thanks for stopping in today!

With Gratitude and Flowers of Course!

Hello everyone! Isn't it refreshing to see this pink and brown card? I feel like I have made so many green, red, and holiday colored cards that this one felt fresh and vintage. AND I got to use my new nestabilities flowers with the heartfelt creations stamps. They were so much fun to make to and you can layer 2 or 3, or 4 and then think of the fun things you can use in the middle. Then the ribbons are making memories that I got in a packet together.

Rounding out the holidays

I know, Christmas is over and I should be done. Well I am but I am in the midst of posting ahead of time and I thought these little vintage tags were so sweet. I project for next year maybe?

This one here is made with the holly stamp from magnolia and I used a little stickles to glitter those berries up a bit. Around the edges I used one of my favorite (go to stamp)- it is SU background stamp. Love it for a little splatter now and then.
Happy New Year!
