Simple Summer

Happy Friday! I am so excited because it is suppose to be beautiful today here in Michigan and I am ready for beautiful weather! This card is how I am feeling!

This card is a simple card that I used a color challenge for. The roses are from the new SU set that will be available tomorrow and I am loving it. I colored them with my copics and then used a little barely banana to sponge the edges. Of course it is embossed with swiss dots (my fav!).

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and weekend!

Beautiful Life

Hello! Thanks for stopping in today. My card today is for the 3rd week of Verve's color/sketch challenge. I am using sky blue (monochromatic). The DSP is a sheet that I found in my stash and I just love it so wanted to make a "soft" card. The green is the backside of the flower print. The card is sky blue and the layer is blue bayou.

Sorry it is so short today, but have a few things going on so I will be back tomorrow!

WOYWD Wednesday

Today is Whats ON Your Work Station Day!!!!!

Here we are again on a Wednesday and I have not been well trained to take my Wednesday morning photos......... but thought I would post today because 1. My desk is well occupied at the time and 2. It is not so occupied that you would all wonder how in the world I could be working at it. If you want to see what the other ladies are doing- stop on over to Julia's blog and start there!

Honestly- the other day it was such a wreck that I didn't craft for an entire day because I dreaded the responsibility to clean it first. Hence, when I was astonished about how it looked my husband said- "Well I didn't make the mess, you are the only one over there working."
So I cleaned it up and went to work on something new. I am in a swap on SCS where we are making card candy. I am in a Birthday group so I am hoping that ice cream cones will suffice. I also want to do something with either a cupcake or cakes.......... and then some fun sentiments and such. It should turn out cute.

So if you would like to join us on WOYWD please stop on over and take a gander on what all the ladies are working on!

IMAGINE WINNING?

Ok, breath, breath............ relax because I know that pictures is scrumptious! Yes, Rachel is giving this away on her blog- you MUST go and take a look! Need I say more other than go by May 2nd!

MOM

Ok, so is she not the sweetest Hanglar?I got this image from my blogging friend Tammi and I just love her. I had this beautiful flower soft paper and knew I wanted to use it for a Mother's Day card- so I matched up my copic markers and went to work. I used the nesties deckled edge and then I sponged it before removing the nesties. The decorative piece behind it is one of the nesties pendants in baha breeze, I just love the sweet little setting it made and with another one you could actually use it to frame the entire image! Then I added the little angel charm as a sweet little gift.
Some fun challenges:
Simon Says: wings
Flutterby Wednesday: wings AND sketch
Alota: Mother's Day
Belli Blog: Die Cuts
All that Scraps: Stitching
Your Next Stamp: Stitching
ODBD: Mother Day
I hope you enjoyed this one!

Grow and Dream

So- another card today that could be easily used as a graduation card. I just love this sentiment as it seems so fitting for so many instances in all of our lives. For this occasion I anticipate that I will use it for a graduation card (look at the DSP). I do like that there is not alot of DSP and so you can focus on the sentiment which is quite large. :) I hope you are not tired of the graduation cards, I did warn you earlier that this was my graduation card week. But I hope instead it gives you some ideas/sketches to work with as you begin you cardmaking!
Take care!

Pearls and Stars

Ok, today's card is my most favorite sketch and I added a little glitz to it so I can give it to one of the girls. The paper is from the same paper pack that I mentioned yesterday: all my other paper is stampin up. That little 2010 metal embellishment is one I got from Archivers and thought I could use it in a variety of ways this graduation season.
I hope you like this one- see you tomorrow!

Dreams are believable

So this week I have been working on the Verve Beach Party sketches, once again Julee has outdone herself on these sketches. And I made a point to focus on graduation cards, I figured I have a senior this year and so I will most definately need some cards so figure I better get em done now! The DSP is from a pack of paper that is for graduation obviously that I picked up last fall on clearance at Michaels. It has some really cool prints and so I know I will most definately get good use out of it. All the colors are Stampin Up- I added a touch of red because our colors are red and black, thought it would serve well as a card for graduation.
Thanks for stopping in- stop back tomorrow for more sketches and graduation cards!

Summer Bouquet

Hello Everyone- just quick post today as I had gone a couple days without crafting again (just so much going on). But today I spent some time working on some Verve Party Sketches as well as graduation announcements which I will eventually show you once they are all done. This card was the Verve color sketch for the Beach Party: orange, aqua, and green. I thought it was perfect for our DSP and just looks so summery!

Real Vintage

So today's card, once again a Element of Style card, is made using some really vintage feel but not as delicate as the pinks that I used yesterday.
Once again I just used the sponge and ink method of coloring and then added some mellow moss and cocoa around the outside to give it the distressed look. So, if you've seen the set and didn't like it much- what do you think?

Smile

I know it is Monday (again!) and I am running behind! I did some work this weekend but I still do not have photos of anything and I have neglected you all this weekend. I just couldn't stay focused,... the weather was toooooo nice! I apologize.
So today I am posting a couple of cards that I made a bit ago, once again using up my DSP that I have stashed (hoarded) away. I like the spring colors and so it fits the season well. I hope that you can enjoy them too!

I will get some other pictures done, posting tomorrow with some new and fresh things! Thanks!

Blue Posey

Good Day! Well today is not so nice outside, rainy. Yesterday it was 84 degree! Crazy weather..... so I am sticking with flowery fun cards to keep me cheerful! This card is made with Inspired by Nature, a set that at first I was not sure I would much but it is so clean and crisp and makes some really quick cards. AS you will notice there is no sentiment on it and that is because I am not sure what I will use it for but it could be Mother's Day, Birthday, Thank you...............
Ok, I am off to run errands. Talk to you later!

Flutterby Wednesday: wings

Flowers, Butterflies, Oh MY!

Today's card I made upon request for a friend that wanted a birthday card for her daughter who likes flowers, butterflies and "girlie" So what do you think? I showed it to my husband and he felt that I had hit the nail on the head. LOL! I guess he doesn't do "girlie"
So because I wanted it to be special and "girlie" I used the border punch along the sides, I just think that this looks so pretty. Then I used a SU set to just add the grass, or in this case the flower stems. See that tiny butterfly? Well I just picked that one up this week....... for some reason I am into butterflies. Don't you find that as a child you always saw butterflies and now- nada? I miss seeing them and still get excited when I actually see one flitting around. So this card is inspired by that. I hope that her daughter will enjoy it.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Challenges:
Creative Belli: die cuts (butterflies, circles)
Creative Cottage: winged things
Flutter by Wednesday: things with wings
TotallyGorjus: texture

Posey Day

Good Day!
This card is one that I made using the Verve weekly sketch along with the color challenge for this week. I chose this color scheme because I thought it was very different and more of a challenge for me because I would typically not use these colors of gray and yellow. Of course, I made it into a Mother's Day card because it is cheerful and fun. If you want to participate in the challenge, check it out on SCS.

Quilted elegance

I know you are saying where is the quilting, the stitching- LOL, I forgot it. Can you believe it? My intentions were to stitch around all the squares and then I got the card together and went, what the heck? This is aother of the cards that I made over the weekend using my BG cardstock and I stuck with the olive and burgunday color scheme. I just love the cleaness of the card and because there are all the layers the card is very sturdy. What do you think?

Roses and more

Hello and happy Monday all! This weekend I spent a fair amount of time working on some cards. I tried to do a couple each time I set out to make one that would utilize my papers and leave me with less scraps. So this sketch I saw on a blog this last week and thought I just had to give it a try in combination with the SCS challenge to make a card like a quilt. The paper is BG and I layered it on olive and burgundy SU cardstock, using vanilla for my image. The ribbon is SU satin pink. The roses, are they not the cutest? Tomorrow I will show you another one I made at the same time, just a little different. Thanks again for stopping in- leave me a comment if you don't mind!

Hello Friend

Ok, I am taking a little hiatus from the Mother's Day cards because I really wanted to try this technique over on SCS this week and I wanted to use some images specific for sending out cards to friends.
So the background I embossed with my folder and then cut it out into the shape using my nestabilities. Then I painted the piece of embossed cardstock with paint daubers and let it dry, then took a piece of sandpaper and sanded off some of the paint. I then cleaned all the powder off, took my distress ink and sponged the entire piece. It actually made the entire piece brown but then I took a damp cloth and removed excess ink and the ink only stayed where it was distressed. The image is colored with copic markers. This card will go out to the lady that I am chemo angeling for since I have not mailed her a card in a week! (I am sorry).
If you want to try this technique check it out on SCS!

Mother's Day 3

I am back- and yet another Mother's Day card. I have seen a few of these around and just had to give it a try. Now it was not easy.... oh the base was easy but making the little flower garden was a little more of a challeng. It didn't match up exactly but overall I am thrilled with the outcome. The card will open and then you can add a little gift card and a note. This will fit into a standard envelope as well and really doesn't give it much bulk when all pushed together. The flowers were made with the scallop punch and I cut each petal all the way to the center and then put a circle to cover the middle. The swirls are made with a sizzix sizzlet.
Ok, so that is Day 3.......... lets see if I make any more!

Mother's Day 2.......

I told you all that I would be focusing on Mother's Day cards............. and here is day 2. I am having a wonderful time making these Mother's Day cards and I think it is because I get to use flowers, bling, pink, and just be creative. I was laughing and telling my friend that my mother might get a couple this year because I will have so many. But I have a few that I am hoping to sell as I have had a couple requests. Lets hope they enjoy them as much as I do! This sketch is one that I saw last week, wrote it down but never did it (and didn't write down which challenge) but really wanted to try it. I liked the way it had the front tilted although I must say that proved a challenge for me: I had to really think awhile before starting. I decided to put the sentiment on the front and because of the size I had to do a little improv and add the flowers and speckles, which I actually like.
Ok, that is it for the day- be back for Day 3 tomorrow!

Delicate Butterflies

Ok ladies- I am so excited to show you all these cards, yes I did make 2 of them because I finished the first one and was just in love with how it turned out. I know that sounds a little "vane" but I sometimes just amaze myself and honestly do not feel like the pictures do these cards any justice. Anyways- I wanted to do another project for the VERVE Parade which had to incorporate flowers and I found these at Archivers and had to buy them in pink of course. Then I also wanted to submit for the sketch challenge over at LPS and so I went with this challenge. I also added the glittery butterflies for the Flutter By Challenge.
So now you've seen them both........... what do you think? I was going to sell them, not sure how I can NOT give one to my mom though. Keep an eye out over the next couple of days I will be posting more Mother' Day card as I am having a blast with these. My mom might just get a couple!

All My Love

So today's card is one that is simple, uses no DSP and has a few punches, oh and on kraft paper! I used the floral background and caramel ink on the kraft paper. The card base is regal rose........ as is the ink used for the daisies. I hope you enjoy this simple one:

Good Day! Here is my card for the first week of the April Verve Challenge. I have now been participating in this challenge for going on 6 months I think and thoroughly enjoy it.

We are given a sketch and then we are presented with a variety of color inspirations- we have to choose the one we want and then go from there. I chose the red, brown, creams.............. and am very pleased with my masculine card!

I hope you enjoy it as well- and thanks for stopping in!

Monochromatic Wings and Things

Ok, so here we are, another monochromatic card. I am really trying to use some of my papers and cardstock up when I cut them. So as you recall I showed a card thursday- well I used some more of the product for this card- actually made one right after the other while I had all the stuff out. I find that I cut 2 card bases and I am apt to make two cards, sometimes the same one and other times a little different to meet the requirements of another challenge. I hope you all do not mind. The sentiment is from SU! It has a butterfly on it for the Flutter by Wednesday Challenge.
Hey and as a nice treat, my friend Claudia has blog candy today- check it out!

Monochromatic

Hello again! Today's card is a monochromatic one for ODBD Challenge. I never make cards like this, it seems that I am always focused on 2-3 colors that coordinate with one another, which is funny because that is so much harder to do! LOL! And there are no designer papers here either. The base is a Basic Grey textured and one that is embossed is a shade lighter but smooth. The sentiments is ODBD- Cross of Christ set. I just love this set. Now come back tomorrow because I have another monochromatic card.
