Alter away!

Hey, you came back! Glad you did- I have been trying to appeal to all different ladies (and gents) with a variety of projects. So it is nice to see you all here! So this was a plain brown box, I think it had cookie dough. So I cleaned it out because I had the perfect gift to go in the box. Now, I have not shown the gift going in the box (it is a graduation gift for my son) but I wanted to put it in something that was simple, masculine and yet he can take with him to college should he choose. So his album will go in this box. I color sprayed this with several different colors of glimmer mist and shimmerz for the Creative belli challenge.

This is a close up of the sentiment on the top. This box I did for the Allsorts Challenge which was to use something and recycle and/alter it.

So have a great day

Easter Color Challenge

Today's cards are in the nick of time. I am so behind on my Easter cards. I have made quite a few spring cards but didn't put Easter on them (maybe I should go back and change all the sentiments, ugh!). Either way- I am scrambling this week to complete Easter cards. So both of the colors are using the LPS color challenge of kraft, chocolate and yellow. The one thing about color challenges that really challenge me are the DSP. I have tons of cardstock but then I have to find the right DSP and as soon as I heard this challenge (or saw it) I knew exactly what DSP I would use. It is SU but I can't recall the name- all of the product is actually SU too!

The fact that I stamped and split the image is due to the fun I had this last week with another tulip card and splitting the image. I think it adds so much to the card and just looks clean. So there you go, I hope you enjoyed your visit today!

Shy Easter Greetings!!!!

Oh happy day to you all............. once again, I am going with a springy card with a little glimmer! Say hello to this sweet little Shy Bear, a gift from my dear friend Cindy for my birthday. The one thing I will say is that they are very large stamps so this card is a big one at 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. I colored him with my copics which I feel like I have been neglecting a great deal lately. It truly was fun though! In this second photo- I tried to capture the glimmer/sparkle that I added to the flowers. They really do shine and I can't wait to get this in the mail for its recipient.
Challenges:
Stamp Challenge: Doodling
Papertake: Sketch
Simon Says: Easter and Glimmer
Have a wonderful week!

Winged Wishes

Hello and welcome again for another days visit at my blog. I thought I would share with you another project we did the other night. This card uses the Sizzix Stampin Up Bird die- it was Sue's project that we worked on and completed. The background uses the cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots which has to be one of my favorites! What I like most about this dies is the leaf and stem- it can be used in so many projects. This week over on Sunday Stampers #97 they are looking for projects with birds- here you go!
Have a wonderful day!

Thinking of you fondly

I know, I know- the card looks familiar doesn't it? Well last evening I got together with some friends and we did a little crafting. As you will be able to tell over the next few days- it is all about spring! I think we are all ready. The card is one that I made and provided product and instruction on. The Jar is was the project that Denise had us do. She found the jar at Jo's- isn't it just the cutest little thing? We then put a rub on it, and the little tulip border (MS) and some ribbon. I got home and added the little butterfly (spellbinder) on it to git it a little more dimension on the top! So cute of projects I think and we had a fun evening gabbing, laughing and sharing! Thanks ladies!

And these projects fit into a couple challenges for this week:
Flutter by Wednesday: butterflies
Verve Project Parade: Fun with Flowers
ABC Toys and Crafts: Spring is in full bloom

Do share- do you have crafting buddies that you get together with to craft?

Happy Spring Day

Hello everyone! Well today is a fun card that I am using a new stamp that my sweet friend got for me on my birthday (thanks Cindy!).

I colored my image with the copics after stamping with momento tuxedo black. Once again, this is what I find works best with my copics. The designer prints are from a DCWV pack that is full of wonderful spring colors, flowers, bugs and daisies. The name is something like that too! :) The little flower is an MM grommet that I got the pack for 99c at Mike's the other day- I think they are clearancing them out. The sentiment goes in there but I wasn't sure which one to use yet so for now it is the background print.

Challenges:

ABC Challenge: Spring is in bloom

All sorts Challenge: Spring is in the air

Little Paper Shop: sketch

So that is it- take care and hope to see you again!

More Spring Please

Well are you ready for some cards with some flowers or what? I am in the mood for spring! Both of these cards are what I call simple and clean cards and so I am using them for the SSIC Challenge. Really not alot of layers or things to them. Basically a card you can easily make just looking at it.... or shall I say a card you can make in a matter of 5 minutes. Don't you just love them!
The flower on this card is made using banana on the middle of the flower and then I used brilliant blue for the very center of the flower and then I took the bashful blue and swirled it into the rest of the flower, pulling the brilliant blue downward. I really like the look it gives the flower.
Once again- hope you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you back. Please, feel free to leave a comment too!
Both of these cards fit the Verve Project Parade: Fun with Flowers!
How about some scrummy blog candy- Check out what Teresa has HERE

Friday Sketch

Hello everyone and I hope this post finds you doing well! Spring has got to be upon us and so this card is one of spring and new beginnings! I am so ready to be working on colorful, fun and bright projects now. I am just loving this card, the sketch is from the Friday Sketch challenge this last week which is being hosted by my friend Claudia. I actually ended up making a couple cards with this sketch and paper just becaue it was so much fun! I made this particular one into a birthday card, using the birthstone for March which is aquamarine for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge. The DSP is one of SU and I honestly should keep the papers in the label package because I forget the names.. but it just reminded me of spring and the ODBD challenge is spring and new life.
That is all for me today! Have a good one.

No, really you are!

Hello and welcome to my blog today! This is a little card that just popped into my head and I am not one to make circular cards but this one kept coming back to me. So I figured I better give it a try and the Kaboodle Challenge was for a shaped card today , so this worked! The image again is one that was sent to me but they are growing on me. LOL! So the card is simple but I just love how it came out- so cute. I am not sure what I am going to do with it but...... I hope that the person that gets it will enjoy it. The little flowers are All Natural from Hawaii and then the little beads- these are awesome, I got this package at HL for 50% off and they came in several colors. I wish now I had purchased other colors. There are a lot in the package!

Ok, that is it for today- have a good one!

For the Cure..........

Today's card is one for the Verve March Challenge. I just loved the sketch and the "aprons" that we had to choose our colors from. We had pink and brown, cupcakes, flowers and who knows what else. And those DT girls did a wonderful job! So this is my take on the card. I didn't go with cupcakes because I wanted to make a card for the lady that I am a chemo angel for: she is undergoing chemotherapy. I am thinking she doesn't read my blog- at least I hope not otherwise she will see it early! LOL. The cardstock is all SU, the designer paper is basic grey. The stamps are Verve. I then added a little bit of bling to give it a little extra pizazz!
I am also entering this card for the Totally Gorjus Challenge #22 to use ribbon, think I have enough?

Thats it for today- have a good one!

Flutter

Ah well.............. these cards were made for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge which was to use green and butterflies and the Fussy Fancy Challenge and Simon Says to use green. I am not sure why I chose to take on this challenge as I am not a green person. Honestly, short of celery green I don't use greens alot......... and especially not garden/real greens. So I thought I should give this one my best effort and really use a real green on it. So this is my outcome.

The card is made using the MS deep edge punch and the card is 5.5 in tall and 4.25 in wide and opens on the bottom. I don't usually do the cards in this direction but I love how this looks with the edges. The DSP is all SU and I used garden green. The butterfly is yoyo yellow and garden green and you can not tell but I spritzed with shimmerz. Now I have found that for just the sparkle, I like using my glimmer mist better- it just gives more sheen/sparkle.
So with that said- I bid you all a wonderful Saturday!

Birthday Fairy

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a wonderful week and I for one must say YAHOO it is Friday! I am adjusting to being home and not working and well, I probably could really enjoy this. LOL! But I don't think that I could do it full time. So this card is one that I made for the LOTV Sketch Challenge. The image, honestly you may know but I am not sure. It was an image that I got in the mail from a friend. I thought she was cute and would fit well with this challenge. The flowers are All Natural and made in Hawaii- some I got a long time ago. Now the card is Lilac and Lemon which is for the Papertake Color Challenge, the designer paper is SU.
Ok, so here she is close up. Isn't she pretty? I wanted to participate in the Saturday Spotlight Challenge and their challenge this week is to make a card look slick or wet. I put a dab of crystal laquer and glitter to make her hearts look wet and shimmer.

Ok, so that is it for today: 3 Challenges with 1 card!

Blessed by You

Good morning to you all- I know it is Wednesday and I should have had a St. Patty's card but I do not have 1 stamp......for St. Patty that is. So I am going to have to show you a different card and it isn't even green. This is a card I made for the March Verve weekly challenge over on SCS. It is so much fun- we are given a sketch and colors- which are pulled from a walk through a house. Amber gives us wonderful pictures to look at and pull our inspiration from and I am so enjoying myself. Sometimes I even pick one that will challenge me a bit more than I am comfortable with- you should join us!
I am off to do some manual labor today- helping my SIL get moved!

Inspirational Birthday

This card was made for a friend for his mother's birthday. It happens to be my favorite ODBD set and so I am going to use it for their challenge this week as well. She is spiritual and he wanted some thing inspirational on the card. I had to think about this because well typically bible verses don't have a whole lot to do with birthdays. So I went with this cross from ODB. The paper I can not recall which line it is from but it was so pretty in full sheet..... I then used the MS deep edge punch. Inside the card I then put . a nice inspirational quote which ended in Happy Birthday That is it for today....... have a good one!

This card was also made for ODBD silver challenge. I wanted the card to be simple but elegant. I used a couple of the embossing folders to give some texture to the card. Do you see that spellbinder? I am LOVING that label 10 that just came in the mail this week. I love the shape of it and can't wait to try some other fun things with it. I hope you enjoy the card for today- thanks for stopping in today!

Blessings

Today's card is one that I did for the ODB Challenge. Those girls are using beautiful flowers and I had to give it a try. I didn't have a specific flower so I used the SU floral background to make this card. The little print reminded me of plates my grandmother used to have and there were 4 sets of them on the plate with greens in between.
Now I know it is a short post again but there isn't alot to say and I am trying to catch up on some challenges this week, hence hopefully have posts daily. I thank you for stopping in.

Fantastic You!

Hello everyone! I hope it is a good Sunday- and thanks for stopping in today. This card is one that I made up last week for a challenge and just never got it posted. All the cardstock is SU as well as the stamp- a hostess level 1 set.
Sorry this is so short but it is my birthday and we are off to church, lunch and a little celebration so need to stay on track. So have a great one!

Tropical Flowers

Hello, it is me again (of course, this is my blog!) Today's cards may look a little familiar to all of you- the sketch that is. I so enjoyed making the card for the MOJO monday challenge and it was sooo easy that I thought I would make a couple more. I was able to use these scraps of paper as well so that is a double plus. I am still working on building up my supply of all occasion cards and these will go in that box. I just love them.
So that is really all for today- hoping to have some other goodies tomorrow and I promise, I will use a different sketch.

Birthday flowers

Happy Thursday- I know it is the end of the day but I apologize- had to run errands today and got a late start on my card making! So I went through my challenges and thought I would like this one, then pulled out my scraps (my own personal challenge) and found a couple that matched to work with. This is the MoJo Monday challenge by the way- is it not the sweetest sketch? The paper is DCWV paper pack. Actually the base is one side of the paper and the smaller piece is the backside of that paper.
I hope you are all having a wonderful day-

Baroque Motif!

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping in today- sorry I was not here to post yesterday. I got a little delayed in projects- finding my mojo I should say. This is a card I designed yesterday to make with a friend. The top portion uses Baroque Motif in mellow moss and apricot. The bottom portion is apricot designer series paper. I used the new SU punch that is part of celebration (free) with $50 order. It is very cute.

So that is it for today- I will try and get some more things done for you all this week!

Altered Album

Hello everyone! Well this was a project that I was working on for about 2 days. It will be a graduation gift for the daughter of some friends. She likes art and I thought she would enjoy this and the fact that all she has to do is add the photos of her and her friends and she will have a momento to take off to college.

The album itself was purchased at Archivers on clearance and I love the shape of the album. It was just the front and back- I think that before I give it away I am going to make a template. I did a little stamping and embossing on the front and then of course that beautiful Tim Holtz plate.

This is what the first page looks like. As you can see all the pages are a little different size. It give the album a little dimension and honestly it makes it fun to see what the next page will look like (don't you think?)

As you move to the next page, you have a narrow page but it has a pull out that you open and there is room for another picture or some journaling or anything she wants to put in it. I originally was going all pink and black with this album due to it being black but then I couldn't just stick with that theme............. there are so many wonderful colors to incorporate so I did of course leave the pink and black but brought in some blues, greens, etc... and am thrilled with hot it came out. now.
The final page of the album I wanted to have the most room for a larger photos of either the graduate, her and her friends or family. And basically she can just slip the photo behind the ribbon and tuck it into the flower and she is all set (is that coordinating pink and black patchwork just not the cutest!). This album was soooo much fun that I want to start on the next one right now but I need to work on graduation announcements first. But good to know this one is ready to be boxed and wrapped.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope this album gives you some inspiration to work on something new!

I am seeing stars.............

Boy I look at this and I do see stars! WOWZA- but I made this following a sketch and I didn't want to use flowers or anything "girlie" so stars it was. The image is a hanglar that someone sent to me- they are just the cutest little people aren't they? I think that I almost like them a tad bit more than the magnolia people but of course, we can't get em here in the states. I colored him with my copic markers and then popped him up a bit so he is 3D. The card is cute and I am going to add a sentiment yet- just deciding which one to add.
Take care and have a great weekend!

Sorrow

I am trying to catch up on refilling my card box with all types of cards and this is one that I made to slip into my sympathy spot. I love the colors on this one, peach, yellow, pink and green. All my cardstock is SU colors and they just are so pretty together. The stamp set is also SU Close as a memory. This particular challenge required you to use a border punch- so that is what I used on the bottom (of course you can see that) and then I put just a hint of pink showing through- the picture does not do it justice.

Thanks for stopping in again- take care and touch base again tomorrow!

Charmed

Well these are for another project that I am working on. They will hang off the side of altered albums that I am making as graduation gifts. I showed some semblance of one of the albums last Wednesday on the WHATS ON MY DESK WEDNESDAY . You know how girls are and their shopping and purses.......... oh , who is talking.... I love purses and shopping. It has been kind of fun to make these because they don't really take too long- well unless I don't like the pattern that I choose, but overall they are fun and easy.

Stop back tomorrow!

Keep it Simple

This card I made for Spotlight challenge and all they asked is that you make it simple...... what do you think? Pretty simple and to the point. The image is one that someone sent to me so I do not even know who makes the images but I thought he was really cute. The paper is DCWV , that is it- simple.

I have finally gotten myself back on track, I think, and working on some little projects. So I hope you'll come back soon and check them out. Promise to get myself back to regular posting!

The Power of YOU!

I apologize for not posting over the weekend. I had a little set back in my life as I was released from employment (to put it nicely) on Friday. Yep, after 10 years of working for the company they have eliminated my job. Ah- put nicely someone has really screwed up and the company is losing money and so I was the chosen one. But after 3 days........ I realize that this is actually a God send for me. I don't have to walk on eggshells, work 10 hour days and deal with all the incompetencies of others. Right now I can focus on me! With that out of the way- here is my card for today- is that a fitting topic? The power of you! The card color scheme and sketch are one that I used for a Verve challenge in February. I did originally struggle with the sketch- maybe the rectangle and circle thing, not sure. But overall I am quite content with it.

Ok, off for a day of "ME"
