Peace to all

This will be my last post for 2008 and it has been a wonderful year, I have met so many wonderful blogging friends and have learned so much from many of you ladies and I thank you all. Here is to wishing you all a Happy and Safe New Year and a Peace to all of you!

This card does not look all that spectacular but what I did is ink my Thomas Kincade in brown ink and stamp it on vanilla cardstock. I only colored in with some yellow to give the lights a highlight but I really wanted it to be a simple card. Then I took my versamark sparkle and covered the entire image and then used UTEE. So the card has a glassy glimmery effect over the entire images. Matted it on red and chocolate chip with a little satin ribbon and done.

Blessings To You..........

Good Monday all! Well many of us here in Michigan are without power and the hope is power by Wed or Thurs! I am so bummed, it is running 20's at night and my home is currently 45 degree. So what do you do when it is this cold and you have no power? I tried to do some crafting and my fingers froze............ right now I am at my inlaws for a bit to warm up and relax. So if you don't see me for a few days that is why.........
This card is a sweet Whiff of Joy image that I just love. I used pink copics to color her but wanted the card to stay elegant and more traditional so only added a little brown. The dp is something that someone sent me in 6x6 sheets so I do not know what kind it is. I didn't want it to be a pure christmas card so I only used blessings so that it can be used as a holiday/new year card. The Sentiment is from ODBD Cross of Christ.
This will be short again since I have a bunch of catching up to do before I head out again. Take care and Happy New Year!

Thanks for supporting me

Happy Saturday Everyone! I hope you are all recovering from the holiday hub-ub and weight gain- I am giggling because I have not stepped on the scales but some of you ladies have shared your weight gain. It is amazing what we will do to ourselves............ and now I will have to work out because we just got our spring (well mid winter) vacation planned!

Today's card is using a Magnolia from the latest release of Tilda and Edwin skating. I just love this image as it just gives me a happy feeling to see them helping one another. THe DP is Basic Grey with SU Red Riding hood cardstock to matte the image. I colored with copics and am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I am making this short as I want to get to a movie with the family. So- have a splendid weekend!

One Last Gift

Doesn't he look like he is being patient, waiting to open that one last gift awaiting him? I just had to color one of these up- this little boy was a gift to me and although it is late in the season I had to make a card with him. The card base is barely banana and my DP is from my Basic Grey collection or shall I say stash! I colored Matthew with my copics and his face is done with a new technique of colors and I must say I am happy with it. Even my hubby said to me, "why did you add the other color to his face?" and when I told him it was to shadow he agreed that it was nicely done. The ribbon is SU blue bayou and the little washer is MM and it says Believe on it. I hope that you are all having a fabulous holiday season and that the New Year brings wonderful things to you.

I am not what I was

I was so excited to work on this card although it did not turn out as it did in my mind. I think it is because the book itself is very large. I got the template from Mothermark and you should check out her wonderful blog. It is so insprirational and she has a great sense of humor and story telling!
Anyways, this saying is from Cross of Christ which is a Our Daily Bread and I just love it. It is one of those sayings that make you really think. The DP is some I had in my bin, mixed in with my basic Grey but to be honest I am not sure if it is basic grey or not. I used SU Red Riding hood and Garden Green to make the book and then inked up the edges of all 3 layers.
I hope you enjoy this and get some inspiration! I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas as this may be my last post until after the 25th.

Funny Riley

Firstly, I want to start off by saying that I love this sentiment, it makes me giggle every time I read it. Now, it is by no means one I live by or encourage my children to live by (except when we play Bingo!) but just love it. But.......... for those of you that have it, try finding the right card or image to put it on! Dang that is so hard! So, this is a Riley fishing and well, I thought maybe he is in a fishing contest........... right? Maybe? Tee hee hee........ Well the deets of the card are the DP is basic grey layered on River Rock. The sketch is one of my own- don't laugh! I had to use a few pieces of DP, it makes me feel more creative! I colored Riley with my copic and this is actually an image that I did in my copic class- and layered it on wasabi. I used the MM swirl clip, the little brads I can not recall what brand they are but they are a little bigger and flat. Ribbon is SU chocolate grosgrain and then the branch punch from MS. I am also going to submit this to Whimsy for their guest design team call- my second project. As you can tell from this picture I popped up the Riley and the sentiment to give the card a little umph! I like it.......... not sure who I will send the card to or for what occasion but I think it is cute and makes me smile! I hope you laugh a litte at it as well. I decorated the envelope as well to match the card by using the DP on it.

Oh and don't forget my BLOG CANDY roll call- we have a couple ladies that are in the holiday spirit and still giving away candy!

Thanks.......

Happy Saturday (well almost Sunday!) I hope you are all getting your holiday preparations done. Today we ran a couple of errands and YIKES...... there were alot of people out there! LOTS of people. Anyways- I was looking for a thank you card the other day and low and behold I realized I am running low on them. So, I pulled out this image/paper and decided to make one that I can use post the holidays- for a special person that may have given me something. This is a Sarah kay image and although she is springy I had to use her- I kind of missed the images since I have focused so much on the winter/christmas photos. Anyways, the paper is Basic Grey and I used a little SU Wasabi paper to matte and add some embellishments. You can not tell much but the DP behind the images is on a diagonal and I wanted to try this since I don't do it much and some of the other ladies do and I love it. Mine not so much...... but the paper is awesome so it makes up for it.
Have a FAB day and fun preparing!

Whimsy Design Team Call

Denise over at Whimsy Stamps is holding a Guest Design Team Call so I thought I would give it a try. I only like to apply for a DT if they have product that I really enjoy and these stamps are adorable. Denise has 6 images out and all of them have this sweet face- one that you can only imagine what they are saying.

The base of the card is SU wasabi green and I stitched one of my K&Co DP onto it- this is a new thing for me. I have one of those mini sewing machines that has been in hiding and I decided to pull it out and give it a try. It took me some time but I got er done! I then layered another piece of DP on DCWV and then I added a variety of stickles to embellish the little hearts and flowers, make it pop! The red, I die cut with my NEW (yippy!) nestabilities Label I. Now for the image, it is stamped with tuxedo black on white and then colored with my copics. I cut the entire thing out and that was some job I tell you- but I wanted it layered on that label piece so he needed to be popped up with a dot. Then I added some branches punched from the Martha Steward branch punch. Added a couple complementary dew drops and there it is. Wish me luck?

Take care, stay warm!

Friends

Isn't she the sweetest? This is a Pink Poison image that a good friend of mine sent to me. This and the little Anya Elf are the first two images that i have gotten and they are too cute, I love coloring them and they take virtually no time at all. I wanted this card to be springy, bright and cheerful- well because I am glad you are my friend! LOL!
The DP is from one of the DCWV paper pads, it has all these wonderfully bright prints in it and with the holidays I forget about it. I colored Anya with my copics and layered her on SU Chocolate Chip. The little sentiment is from the hostess set- these sentiments are the BESTEST aren't they? I will miss that this set will be gone. The bow- well my friend Cheryl is the BOW master- she has big beautiful bows on all of her cards and I love them. So, this is my attempt- not as sweet as Cheryl's but it does justice to my card. I used pink satin, a yellow grosgrain and that cute little heart button was sent to me some time ago and I know nothing more about it (where it came from, where it has been- sounds like a lonely heart doesn't it?) NOT anymore- I love it on my card with Anya.
Even thought the card is springy it is extremely cold and snowy here in Michigan again. But I finished my shopping last night, most all is wrapped and we are almost ready for the BIG guy to come! Hope you are too!

Because I Care

Have you ladies seen the Whimsy Stamps? Denise is the owner, new owner too! I saw this owl and fell in love with him right away. He just has this adorable look, whimsical- as do all of the images by Whimsy. You must check them out and tell them I sent ya!
The DP is from a K&Co pack that I hoard of course, but the swirls went well with my theme and LO, which is actually a sketch that Denise put together over on papercraft. I was late in posting it so I didn't get into the contest but thought I would post it anyways. I needed a card for someone that said I cared about them and this is the first little face I thought of. I used a little SU grosgrain and the branch punch from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is actually a partial of one of the hostess sets for SU.
Well I need to get to work and tonight finish off my holiday shopping! It must get done some time doesn't it? I just keep thinking of someone I forgot or something else to buy.......... THAT is the bad part! Happy shopping!

Elf Wishes

Happy Sunday (evening!)!!!! I hope you all had a wonderful evening and were able to finish those last minute preparations. I know Saturday I spent a lot of time finishing up my shopping but still have ALL my wrapping to do. Hubby and I went to his work party and we had a great holiday time- eating, drinking and dancing. Lots of fun.

This little elf is from Pink Poison- is she not the cutest little elf? Makes you wish you had her at your house to help you decorate, bake and WRAP gifts. Hee hee......... The paper is basic grey which I so LOVVVVVVE! Is it not the prettiest paper? This little image takes litterally 2 minutes to color, so quick and simple. I used SU Real Red to matte and as a base card. The poinsettia again is from my little stash from Micheal's.

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

It wasn't me............

Does this little kitten look guilty or what? This is a High Hopes image that I just ordered this year and I just love him. I love cats so this is perfect for me. I colored him with my copics and mounted him on SU Real Red paper. The DP is from a stack of papers that I have decided that I need to get rid of and use up! I am such a hoarder of paper so pulled some sheets out and went to town on them. Today is a short post- I am sorry. It is very cold here and I am just dragging this week- very sleepy. I want to get some projects done this weekend for gifts for hubby work, finish up a Christmas gift and I am hoping I have the energy. So thanks for stopping in and I will try to give you a little more umph............. this weekend!

Whiff of Christmas!

Well my hubby and I went out and did a few more shopping errands last evening so another fun filled shopping spree. I am almost done, which is good because I am running out of steam and I need to start wrapping! Are you all done wrapping yet?
Today's card is a Whiff of Joy image that I colored with my copics. Once again- I am trying to color some images ahead of time so when I sit down I have the images done and can focus on the card/sketch. I have seen so many cards with the DP or the image at an angle and love it so tried it on this card. The paper is from an old pack that I had but thought the colors would work with this image. I don't usually use this "shade" of green and red so this was a change for me. I did matte the image on SU RR and then used white card base. These images are a bit larger as well so the card is 5 1/2 x5 1/2 again. I like this size now for some reason! The little ornament came in the little can that had the poinsettia flowers from Michael's.
I hope all of your are finishing up the shopping, decorating, baking......... and wrapping. It is frigid here in Michigan, like 18 degree so I want to stay in with my tea! Have a FAB day!

Edwin Skiing

Happy Tuesday Ladies!!!! I hope this finds you all doing wonderfully! It is raining cats and dogs in Michigan and we are suppose to get freezing weather tonight so the kids are hoping for a NO SCHOOL day tomorrow, Ugh. Today's card is an Edwin that my wonderful secret pal over on SCS bought for me! Is she the BESTEST?! Yes she is......... I used my copics to color him and I was so pleased with how he turned out because i have really been trying to improve and studying my idols (Claudia, Suzanne, Rach) cards to improve. The DP is from Debbie Mumm-and I just loveeeeeee it so much. The colors are so subtle and it is so warm and countryish I think. The base is a 5 1/2 square of SU Artichoke and then I matted the other DP on riding hood cardstock, with a little taffeta bow. Oh, oh.... and those pointsettias, those I found at Micheal's as my friend (and idol) Claudia had them and I had to try them out and just love them. The holly sprig is made with 3 dew drops and the branch punch from MS. On the inside of the card I used my Hello Kitty sizzix to give it a little twist and the little holiday message. What do you think?

I promised to show you another card that I made with this Stampers Anonymous stamp. I love these stamps- they are quite large and stamp so clear and crisp and yet have that vintage look if you use a brown ink. These are my cards that I handed out this weekend to my family. We always make a gift and of course I always give a handmade card.
This cards base is a textured deep red, they are from Colorbok and pre-made cards. I bought it in bulk when our Colorbok warehouse had a sale. I then used, SU mellow moss and layered on Basic Grey DP which I love. I did put a little red stickles on the berries and the leaves, I took the MM and used my daubers to add a little color. I stamped the snowflake from the SU Winter Post set with versamark and added some stickles to give it a little sparkle- smudged the edges of the image with chocolate chip and done. I am pleased with the way they turned out and family liked them too!

Blog Candy- check out Irina's- she is listed on my blog candy list!

Cards For Ronald McDonald House Winner !!!!

Ok ladies- I told you I would post the winner of my BLOG candy today and I received the cards and I was a little shy of 100 but I will add to them and then they will get 100 of them. Thank you to all of you that entered and helped out and sent out cards for me- what a touching thing to do. So I put all your names into random generator to see who was going to win the Stampin Up Product and the winner is..................

#37 Cindy Inman!!!

Congrats Cindy- thank you so much, Cindy sent in 20 cards in all- what a gem!

Tags for swapping

I am hosting a holiday tag swap over on SCS and I typically do a variety of tags- I can never make them all the same. I believe that I had shared a few a month or so ago so I thought I would share my most recent ones. This one is made with a SnowBoy stamp that I borrowed from a friend of mine (thanks Faith!) and I just love him. Not only is he cute but easy and quick to color. I cut out the ovals with my nesties and then used some floss to attach the two pieces. Won't these look just cute on a package?

This next tag........ well ladies this is an experiment of a tag. How many of you were over at Tim Holtz last year for his 12 days of Christmas? Well I fell in love with Tim during those 12 days and had to try some of his stuff! This is one of his tags and I tried hard to follow the directions. I used black paper and stamped the snowman with versamark and then embossed it. I then colored with daubers in two shades of blue. I was to let it dry and wipe the color off the snowman but it did not work for me at all. So then I went back and stamped the snowman again in black- he looks a little scary, almost evil my son said! I highlighted with snowflakes but I had to share with you. I am not sure that I will ever use them but will have to work on perfecting this technique. If you want to see Tim Holtz tags- go to his site Timholtz.com

Thanks for looking today ladies!

I promised to be back today! Here I am but for some reason I don't have a whole lot of "talk" in me. I am whipped for some reason and not sure why! My hubby will be glad cause when he gets home I won't bombard him with talk! LOL!
I thought I would give Stampavie Challenge a try over at Paper Craft Planet and this is my take. This is a Sarah Kay image that someone sent to me and I used my neutral/brown copics to color her as I wanted to layer her on this K&Co paper. I used mellow moss paper, layered the image on SU camel paper. I then used chocolate satin ribbon.
Hope you like her!

Black Friday Challenge

Over at Stamp Something the gals wanted to celebrate Black Friday so I thought I would join in since I am such an avid Black Friday Shopper! So this stamp is one of Stampers Anonymous stamps and I inked it in black (simple huh?) and put it on very vanilla cardstock. I used plain black cardstock, made the little doille banner with the MS punch, added some black and white ribbon and a tag and it is done. I think it is pretty cool, simple, elegant and well unique. I hope you can enjoy it- I will post another card I am working on this week with the same stamp. It will have a little color but still have the vintage feel that these stamps hold.

Have a good one ladies! Stay warm because it has been snowing for a couple of days here in Michigan! I will also update my Cards for a Cause and choose a winner this week!

These are busy B's!!!!

Happy Black Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had a great day, except hubby went to the football game so we were not together! But I ate so much turkey, dressing and pot/gravy- sooooooo much and it was absolutely yummy! Today I was up and out the door at 4:30am with my oldest son and we were home around 12 noon. I only got a couple of things that I needed to get though, others were sold out! Ugh, which means 4 more weeks of looking for it.
Today's card is a wonderful Alota rubber stamp and I just love these bees. They are working so hard (well most of them) to prepare this tree for the most wonderful holiday tree ever. I really did keep it simple in that I used garden green on the card, layered it on real red and that is about it. I did use liquid applique on the popcorn and it is adorable how it pops up just a bit. The ribbon was another $1 bin ribbon at Mike's! Love how it works.
I am off to have leftovers today- have a Blessed Weekend!

From My Home to Yours

Well happy SNOWING day- it is still snowing here in Michigan, looks much like this little cottage at my house! I keep thinking it is time to get out the skiis- and it is so Brrrrrrrrrr cold! I sent my son off this morning, worried to death of the slippery roads- Oh yes, for those that have followed the new 16 year old driving saga- he got a car this last week and I have definately gotten gray I think in the last 5 days! Yikes.............

I also wanted you all to take a look at my fundraiser bar over there on the side! I got 2 more packages of card this week from Olga and Jacqueline! I am getting close to my goal of collecting 100 cards from my friends and readers so please, if you have cards laying around think about joining this cause. You can read about my Blog Candy for a Cause HERE - you could win some goodies too!

Oh yea, the card, this is Edwin with his lantern standing outside the little cottage welcoming visitors on a cold evening. I just love this guy- does he not look like the sweetest kid? (probably doesn't ask his mom for gas money, or come in to the house 15 minutes late, ........... ) The DP is from a paper stack that I got a year or so ago so I can not remember what it is, the gold ribbon is from Micheal's dollar bin and you know what- I LOVE it. They had lots of colors, it is wide satin so I tell you go and buy it. I colored Edwin with copics and do you see how I did his sweater so that it has areas that are very light, almost white? Well I have no idea how I did that but I am pleased, yeah- I know that Claudia and Suzanne can do it so expertly but I have not gotten that down pat yet. But pleased with this one all the same.

Thanks for stopping in- hope to see you around and please, leave me a note that you stopped and were here.

Sweet Snowman

I wanted to participate in the Friday Sketch Challenge and boy did I have a hard time with this weeks challenge. For one, the shape of the card is much different than I am used to. I had this image that I colored using SU markers and the aqua painter in blues- well then I had to find paper that was winter/holidayish to go with it and I had nothing. So I resolved to this SU DP that I had in my stack (and can't recall the name). The image is Kathy with her snowman from Precious Moments, which since a lot of people have asked me about these stamps I will tell you that they are no longer being made. I got mine from trading or purchasing on ebay. I do love the images and I collect the figures as well. I used certainly celery and bashful blue for layering and the little snowflake brad is from MM.
I have finally finished all my holiday cards and then someone asked if was sending out Thanksgiving cards! Wha....................t? Of course not, I can barely stay afloat as it is, which is a shame b/c I have the cutest Thanksgiving PM stamp too! Ugh, dare I try to push out a few this evening? We shall see.

Did you notice my Cards for a Cause counter is going up? I am only 29 cards away from 100 (my goals) so I hope to get a few more in the mail ladies! IF you want to join us, just send your card donations for RMH- post here that you need my addy and I will send it to you. You can win SU goodies too!
Have a good one!

Goofy Birthday

Good Morning! I was finishing up my card making binge and my hubby says to me, "Can you make a card for Lynn's grandfather who is turning 81?" Well I mean I was a little blurry eyed and thought what kind of card do you make a man turning 81? He tells me he likes fishing, wildlife and that is about it. I do not have any fishing stamps and just couldn't think of anything and then I remembered the gruffie with the cake. I pulled out my sentiments and the first one I saw was this one and I love it and can never find the right card to put it on. THIS was it. The image is colored with copics and then I added some stickles to his cake. The paper is from a Basic Grey Two Scoops and the colors all worked well with my Blue Bayou from SU. Simple, not too frilly and kind of funny, figured when you turn 81 you just gotta laugh at those birthdays! Then I find out that Lynn had asked Hubby to ask me to make him a card- had I known that I would have made him a few to choose from but it was already 11pm on Sunday and I had no energy left so I hope he likes it!

Have a good ones ladies!(and any gents that stop in!) Don't forget my Blog Candy for a Cause- we need your help and you'll have the chance to win some Stampin Up product too! I got another 16 cards from Josette- thank you so much! Check it out HERE.

A Simple Wish

I hope today finds all of you doing well as we are coming closer and closer into the holiday season! I know I am starting to feel a little pressure now, with 2 teen boys it gets much harder to plan ahead and purchase gifts because they, well they are much more expensive for sure but also you gotta find them with all the right "bundles!" So I wish you all lots of luck with those holiday purchases and hope you find what you need to please all those little ones in your lives.

Today's card is a Magnolia card. The church is a stamp that my sister in Finland (exchange student) sent to me this last summer. I have only ink'd it a couple times but never been happy with the outcome of the image when I was done so I honestly don't think that I have ever posted anything with it. I just colored the church litely, I wanted it to be white so I used a light gray copic to give it some color and thena light blue to add some color to the windows. Using E31 and E33 to color the windows, door and shingles. The snowman, I found this image in a pile of them I had and I was so happy as I had seen him on Claudia's blog and loved him- and so to find him make me so happy! I just cut him out and popped him up a bit so he stood out from the church. I think it is a very simple card but states what it needs to. Hope you enjoy!

Heidi

Card Candy for RMH Update: I got 25 cards from Cindy yesterday and then I got 2 from Vickie- THANK you so much for helping me out ladies! I am actually over half way to my goal.

Cardinal Christmas

I was working on my holiday cards and remembered that I had stamped these images out after borrowing this set from a friend to make my mother her Christmas card. So I set out to coloring it with my copics and once again, I think it turned out better than I personally thought it could. The sketch is one that I saw on Claudia's blog and thought it was so pretty. I layered the cardinal on Real Red and then used my SU DP Dashing to layer it on. I used my MS lace border punch to cut the River Rock and the SU photo corner punch to cut the river rock and dp and layered them. I then pierced each of them which I think just adds a little depth to the corners. The red strip down the middles is embossed with my snowflake cuttlebug folder. The flower is made with the SU 5 petal flower and one of the little flowers from the Flower trio punch(spring punch). The little tag is from y CB dies and Merry Christmas is from the hostess set Best Yet (I only stamped a portion of the sentiment to fit the tag. I finished off the card with a little stickles on the berries and popped the flower up to hang the tag on. I think that my mother will feel very special receiving this. I don't think that she reads my blog so it should be a surprise too!

Take care and hope to see you back soon!

Heidi

Don't forget about my blog candy HERE! I got 18 new cards for my rmh candy cause- thanks ladies!

Have you seen the new Whimsy Stamps? Denise, right here in the US has expanded and is starting her own stamp company and her images are adorable. I can't wait to see what else she adds! Check her out!

Sweet n Sassy is also having an anniversary- with lots of goodies too!

Happy Monday!!! I don't know about you all but if you look out my back door at my table and chairs it looks like a huge birthday cake with lots of white frosting on it- it appears to be at least 6 inches. My evergreen trees are all soaked in the snow and if they had lights on them it would be the perfect holiday photo I must say so myself. The snow started yesterday afternoon, HUGE white soft flakes like you see in the movies and within about 3 hours we had all this snow. The kids were hoping for a "snow day" but that didn't happen- it is Michigan we can handle this much!

Onto the card, sticking with the snowy theme here I pulled out on of my only winter themed stamps and started on this. The paper is new paper that I found at Micheal's the other day: Christmas Cheer by K&Company. The colors are so vintage and yummy. I colored Kathy and her snowman with my copic and I am really thrilled with how they came out. I am always in awe at some of those other ladies and this card makes me feel better since I am no where near as talented as they are. The little flower is cut out with my SU 5 petal flower and then a prima is used, the ribbons are SU burgundy and olive. This is actually my submission for the Friday Sketch Challenge- didn't I tell you that I was going to get better at participating in those? Well I made 5 cards last night (not following challenges except this one) so you will get some goodies to see this week.

I also want to say thanks to all the ladies that have sent emails to get my address to send cards for the RMH Cause. Please join me in this Candy for a Cause which you can find HERE.
Stay Warm!

Donkey Love

I just had to share this sweet little card. Michelle O sent me some images of these cute little donkeys and I just finally got a chance to pull them out and work with them. Is he just not the cutest donkey? Short of being alive............ those big eyes and his little ears pulled down. You just can't help wanting to love him up. I used SU mustard DP series and layered on brilliant blue. I used my scallop punch and punched the DP and turned it over and layered those on another scallop punch done in blue. This entire card is 'popped" off of the base and I love how it looks! I have a plan for this card but I can't tell you what it is.......................... hope you like it!

Have a fabulous weekend!

And thank you to Alexandria for presenting me with this award! It was so sweet of her and I am suppose to choose several ladies to give this to but there are so many of you and most already have it so I am giving to anyone that doesn't have it yet!

Friday Sketch

Hello All! I hope that you are all having a Fab week! I was suppose to have an appointment last evening and they cancelled so I got the evening off- to craft of course! So I set a goal to finish a couple challenges since I have not done any in what seems to be so long and I really do get inspired by them. So, here is my first one. This is for the Friday Sketch Challenge, they posted a sketch and I thought Oh that is easy and then I had to think a few times over and over because I knew the image I wanted to use. This is a Hanglar image that was sent to me, the DP is from myK&Co paper pack and I love it- it is so yummy! It has glitter swirls already on it (which is nice cause it saves me time and makes it look like I did a lot of work!) I used sky and Blue Bayou on it as well. This card also fits another challenge for Stampavie vs Magnolia which is to make a card only using 3 colors.

Candy for a Cause Update and a cute card too boot!

This was a card I made last week for Cute Card Thursday and never posted, time just slipped away from me. I used a Barely Banana card and layered some DCWV baby paper pad. The image is a RAM image that was sent to me so I honestly can't tell you what the name of it is. I layered the image on barely banana as well. The circle on the bottom is wasabi- the colors all came together so well and then I had to put in the flowers to follow the sketch. I didn't have any little baby items to dangle there- charms would have looked so nice.

Hey- also, I put my ticker up on the top right side so we can keep track of cards that come in to support my Candy for a Cause- see post a couple down. If you have a chance to make some cards and send them- I know they would be so appreciated! If you do email me and I do not respond in 24hr- please post here and tell me to email me your addy. I have found a few in spam box! Thanks to Darlene Pavlich for sending my first 10 cards!

Lasting Summer

I couldn't help but post this because it is the last remnant of summer gone by. It is getting cold here in Michigan, we had snow flurries last week and well it is time for sweaters and jackets and I made these cards in the summer and love the springy/summery feel of this cute card. It is a precious moments stamp and I used some SU DP as the base and layered some DCWV paperpads and blue grosgrain from SU. Of course, the nestibilities! I love those things!

Then this card is made with pink bazill and made with Colorbok soft striped paper on SU celery cardstock. The stamp is another Precious Moment (One Another is the name I believe). These little people are just so cute, sweet and summery. I do have some winter ones that I will pull out and start on but like I said- just had to capture one more day of summer for ya! I colored these with my copics- these were some of my first actually.

I hope that you have a wonderful FALL day and thank you so much for stopping in!

Don't forget my blog Candy for a Cause in my post under this one.

Need a Lift?

This little image was sent to me by someone but I can't even recall what type of stamp it is, reminds me of Amuse but I can't say for sure. I had colored this a month or so ago and set down to putting into into a card the other night. It is such a cute little image and I had to hunt around for a sentiment and guess what I pulled out? Yep- it is Amuse! I got this little friends sentiment when I was out in California a few weeks ago- just a simple little saying but it means so much! The DP is one of many in my drawer of papers so i can't recall who makes it but I mounted the image on wasabi and barely banana adn then used real red for the border punch. It is a fun bright card, kind of reminds me of the colors I used in pre-school! Come to think of it, it looks like a card I would have made in preschool (stick people, flowers, LOL!)

And if you have not seen my Candy for a Cause- please check it out, would love to see more people involved. It is one post down.

Candy for a Cause.........

I have a strong desire to do something for someone else............ and give each person that helps me a chance to win some goodies! Honestly, don't you always feel bettter after you have done something that you know will make someone else smile? I know I do! So here is what I want to do- we have a local Ronald McDonald's House that is affiliated with the University of Michigan. I feel blessed that I have healthy children as I honestly do not know how those parents can do it. RMH is home to many sick children and their parents while their little ones are inpatient or getting treatment of all sorts. I want to collect cards for them to send out, I am looking for general cards such as Thinking of You, You make me smile, Thank you, I am there for you, Friendship ......... anything you think that they would use.
My goal is 100 cards- so please help me reach that goal- and all you ladies over seas/Canada - you have lots of time to mail those cards to me- I will leave this open until December 1st. I will then draw a winner on Thursday December 4th.

What you will win: SU Everyday Celebrations, SU Fancy Fibers "Annie", SU Eggplant hemp twine, and SU metal edge tags.

So- here are the details:

1. Send me a card/envelope that I can give to RMH families and I will give you an entry for EACH card you send me. Email me at steinrn@yahoo.com for my address when you are ready to mail them.

2. Post a link on your blog spreading the news of this Candy for a Cause and I will enter you in the contest- please leave a comment here that you have done this.

Thank you so much for participating in this Candy for a Cause!

Don't Throw Out My Card!

I am actually hosting a tag swap on SCS and so these are a few more that I am making. Right now- I am so into making tags which is good since it is coming into Christmas and I always love to use handmade tags for my gifts. This is a cute snowman that has dressed up like a reindeer (inkyantics) and I just love him. I layered him on glorious green and the red is actually some cardstock I got from Colorbok when they closed out their warehouse here in Michigan. I put a little glitter on them and they just sparkle (and so do I!)

Next I have to show you this, when I was out in San Diego last week I stopped into this stamp store and if you ever get to SD you should pay them a visit. The owner is so nice and the ladies that work there are very helpful as well, it is called Stamp Addict and they have sooooooo many stamps inside this little store- it is unbelievable they could get so many in there. Anyways, I was looking for a fun/silly stamp to put on the back of my cards and I found this one- isn't it funny! I thought it was.

Anyways- have a great week all my friends and thanks for your comments.

Tag-a-long!

HAPPY FRIDAY! Are you all as happy as I am? It has been a busy week, lots going on here at home and at work. Sometimes you wonder how you get all the things done in one day..... that is me this week. And today is Halloween, we are not really big Halloweeners so I don't typically post Halloween stuff so you are going to get Christmas (sorry!). BUT both of my kids are telling me they are going trick or treating- which is amazing cause they have not always gone and to this moment neither has a costume! Yikes......... that means around 5pm they will be asking me to help them come up with something. But until then, I will show you my tags.
These tags are ones that I started the other night and I love how cute they came out. I will say that the photos do NOTHING for these tags. I used cocoa with red riding hood and the other is sand with red riding hood. I used some glitte on the snowflakes which you can not see in this photo but it just adds the finishing touch to these. The button on the snowflake is one of the riding hood SU buttons.

Home for Christmas

I held a class the other night and these are the 3 cards we made. It was a class where they paid up front and walked out with the stamp set and the cards. The card on the right is mellow moss and robin hood red along with chocolate. I used the threading water punch. The middle card is chocolate based with vanilla and Ski slope DP. I also used the new designer SU ribbon-this is so pretty. The one on the left is old olive w/ canvas printed on it, and riding hood red. We water colored this one and then I got the MS branch punch and we punched them out of DP and put them on the door as garland to give it depth. I love how this turned out, it took a little more time but it is well worth it. Now I must say that these cards are all versions of different cards I had seen on SCS- is that not the best resource in the world?
I hope you enjoyed these. I have been working on some christmas tags for my tag swap on SCS and they are so much fun! Check back tomorrow and I will try and post some of them.

Vintage Santa

I got this vintage Santa face on a PIF thread on SCS and I just love him. He is very simple, he is stamped in chocolate and all I did was layer on Real Red cardstock that was put throught the CB plate. Then I put some stickles on the snowflakes, added some ribbon and a little joy tag. This tag is acrylic and I used stazon on it- reminds me of the shrinky dink. I made this following the Stampsomething challenge thread. Turns into a nice vintage card, I think.

To kind of go along with the vintage look I thought I would show you this card. Now this is not my sketch, I got it from someone else (can't recall who though) but loved it. I got the Winter Post set that is in the new SU Mini and it is so versatile, vintage and FUN! I thought I would never use the reindeer and look- here he is! I wanted it for the post card saying and the santa postmark, love them both!

Okay- and an update on the 16 yr old thing! OMG- he passed the road test this week and he now has a drivers license! What am I suppose to do now? Should I let him drive? I am freaking out ladies............. he is a good driver, I do not mind driving with him but now, let him leave in the car on his own? Oh, I do not think so- there is so much that can happen to him. I never thougth I would feel like this.......

Oh and I am leaving for San Diego this afternoon and I have nothing planned ahead for you gals so I will not post again until Monday. I wish I had more time to plan- if I do, I will. I have a feeling there is a need for some Halloween Blog Candy- what do you think?

Impress with Embossing

I just have to share this new found inspiration with you all. I have a cuttlebug and all those folders and I use them on my cards as layers and love them. But truly do not use them alot and to their fullest potential- do YOU? Well I was blurfing last week and found this blog where she uses the CB folders to be the center stage. Now how cool is that? So here is my first card that I made putting those CB folders to work, make em show for the money I spent on them! LOL. First I die cut the bulb and snowflakes with my sizzix and then quickly threw them into my snowflake folder and wha-la! Are they not awesome? (I know you are all like, uh, Heidi where have you been?) Then I embossed the base card with swiss dots and then the top piece with oh, fooey, I can't recall the name of it. But you get the idea! The greeting is SU Sincere Salutations.

I then took some of the jelly impressions to make a "mark" for the envelope. I had to die cut the impressions with sizzix die b/c none of my punches fit. But I am pleased with the outcomes.

Tata!
