Golden Anniversary

I am pleased with the outcome of this card. My aunt asked me to make an anniversary card for some dear friends of hers and I will be honest with you I was a little baffled, I find that anniversary cards are hard to make (kind of like sympathy cards). So I set forth on some ideas and thought keep it simple and of course "golden". I cut the numbers and the Happy Anniversary with a cricut (thanks Jen- that was a great lesson!) out of just a very light gold color because I didn't want it to clash with the white or scream "cheap!" The rest is done with the cuttlbug folders. I did layer it with some foam so it has some depth to it as well. Inside I have made a little piece that goes in that is white, layered on the gold and has a little flower again in the corner. Well that is it for today- short and sweet and to the point! Have a great day!

Sweetness

Happy Sunday all!
It has been a busy weekend here at my house and so I set out to work on this card for display to you today trying to focus on color and summertime. Of course this is Tilda with her little ladybug friend that I got from Kelly over at KLSNS awhile ago. I know Kelly still has this one if you missed out and I just love her, isn't that little outfit the cutest. I am still trying to find the perfect gouloshes for myself! LOL!
The designer paper is from K&Co Berry Sweet Pack and I coordinated it perfectly with SU kiwi and baha. The color in this picture does not give you a good look at that but it truly is beautiful together. The grosgrain is SU as well. Here is a close up of her dress that I colored with my copic markers. Oh and there are a few things I want to remind you of too!

WHAT'S THE SPECIAL at KLSNS? June25 or June50-- Spend $25 get $5 off your order or Spend $50 and get $10 off your order!! **Note: Pease be sure to click on APPLY COUPON for this to take effect. Then Spellbinders are 15% off and Cuttlebug folders are 25% off!

Fireworks and Glitter

I just got this inkadinkado stamp in the mail from Julie at ABC Toys and Crafts and thought it would be perfect timing to use it, that way if you all are looking for 4th of July stamps you can stop over and check em out. I wanted to do something not so traditional and this is what came to mine. Someone said it was "sexy", well that is not a word I have ever heard used to describe one of my cards but hey, if it elicits this feeling you go girl! LOL- you know who you are too! But I really liked this Red, black and white feeling. And as you can see in the lower photos I used some stickles to add a little sparkle to the card randomly. I hope as you prepare to make your cards you'll check these out!

Stamp: Inkadinkado 4th of July Fireworkds ABC toys and crafts
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc: Stickles (red)

Watermelon Delight

Today's post will be quick, it if Friday and I woke to (seriously) a hot air balloon landing in my front yard/street. He just made it over the top of the house, glided down into the front yard and nicked the top of one of my pine trees and landed right there on the curb. It was quite exciting and lets say that my neighbors all know I wear sleep pants with butterflies on them! I was out there in a flash with my camera BUT dummy me left the card in my computer so it will have to wait to be loaded.

So today's card is a little bear with watermelon and I honesly do not know what image this is because it was one that I got on SCS pif thread and thought he was cute so I nabbed it. That thread is awesome if you want instant images instead of making your wish list and waiting for one to arrive. I colored this little guy with my copic markers and then used some DCWV paper and matted on SU. It is just a nice summery card.

Have a blessed week and take care.

Dino-Mite

Ok one more Party Dragon.......... hee hee hee! I had to do this one to match the paper. This paper is Basic Grey Cupcake line and it is fun and bright and Kelly at KLSNS had sent it to me a month or so ago and I just had to use some more of it. Of course I stamped the image with Memento tuxedo black and colored it with my coordinating copics. I have really been working on my highlighting and blending- can you all tell yet? I think that I can: especially on his shirt and then on the cupcake I think. My card is a 5x5 card with a SU pumpkin pie base and a little SU mellow moss thrown in there. The hard part with this card? I don't have any little boys to give it to.... is that sad?
Oh and one last thing- do you want to win some SWEET Blog Candy- here is a picture of what you get- just sign up here on the KLSNS blog and you will be entered to win! You will get a CB folder and a Rachelle Anne Miller stamps and some other goodies- definately worth the trip over there!

All Natural

For some reason I am into altering boxes now, this is one I got at JoAnn's for $1 and just covered with some of my sweet natural papers. I was thinking "green" when I made it and wanted it to be outdoorsy, wasn't sure what I was going to use it for (or what the recipient would use it for) so kept it simple. I covered the top with the creature paper and then the sides are done in two different coordinating papers. Here is a picture of the side of the box. The sentiment is from one of my retired SU sets stamped on nestabilities.
I hope you are all having a fabulous day!

you want to win this! Oh yeah baby, you know you do! Check it out here and you could be (unless of course I win it instead!)

Treasure Box

I wanted to make a special box this week and I had boughten a few of these and had them sitting around and thought it best to use em up! So this is actually a small white pencil box and I covered the entire box with this paper. I am sorry that I have no idea what type it is because someone sent me these 6x12 pieces of this designer paper but there is no name on it, I was just able to coordinate a couple of the designs to cover the entire box. I thought it was kind of vintage/collageish looking and so I went with it. The green ribbon is a velvet ribbon and then the tossle is another ribbon that I got 2 years ago in a clearance bin at Michael's. I just loved the colors and that is what made me purchase it (no use for it, no ideas for it, etc.... you know what I am talking about cause I know you do it too!) But it was perfect for this project! Now I have to tell you what I used to adhere the ribbon- it is called UHU Creativ and it is fabulous. I have used alot of products for ribbon but this glue is fabulous- it holds like anything! If you get a chance, try it out.
The image is of course Tilda with a tag that I got from Kelly over at KLSNS and I colored her with my copics. I used the greens, browns, and a little yellow because I am going to enter this in the ROP color challenge of Pink, Green and Yellow!

Cherished Teddy

I must say that this has to be one of my most favorite Sara Kay images- My Sweet Lili. It reminds me of younger days and my favorite teddy bear. I just love her. This little notebook is one I got from the dollar bin at Michael's a long time ago and i thought it was time to get to using it. I covered the book with SU Pink Piroquette which I ran through the embosser (swiss dots and birds and swirls). The paper is Basic Gray Porcelain that I got from 7kidscollegefund. I didn't order this paper at first because it is so light but it truly is beautiful and especially for those vintage kind of projects. So I am thrilled that I had Tab send it to me. I finished off the embellishements with some grosgrain (SU) and then a little clip.

The tabs on the inside I made using the lace punch from SU and I made it so that there were 6 scallops, then folded it in half and attached as a tab. I had a friend (thank you cindy!) that sent me a beautiful box that she had these little dividers in and I loved the idea. Whomever I give this to can add their own tab words then.

That is it for today ladies! Don't forget your new Magnolia stamps!

Way to go Graduate!

Happy Friday! I am off to look at colleges today for my oldest son- I know I hardly look old enough but well, you know, some people gotta have the "young looking gene" (oh my gosh I am laughing too hard at myself here). Anyways- lets not talk about age.

I had to make a few more graduation cards and since our school colors are red and black that is the color scheme that I chose. I wanted it to be quite simple and so I chose a simple sketch. I embossed the left side with clear embossing powder on black and you know, I don't heat emboss much but it was fun, lets face it watching those images go from dusty to shiny- it is fun! LOL! So of course I had to emboss the Grad part as well. This card looks alright in the picture but I think in person it is even better and I hope the grad enjoys it too!

Have a great weekend ladies!

Friday Sketch

I just had to give one of the sketches a try this week. I have been so neglegent in participating in these that I feel like I have missed so much. So I went to one that would give me the most time to do but as you can see it is Thursday and I am just getting it posted. But hey, it is in time right? Friday Sketchers................. yahoo. They had a cute sketch and it used an oval which is one of my nesties that I rarely use so this was a perfect opportunity for me to give it a try. My DP is SU paper and the stamp is actually from my Darcies set. I then added a little stickles to the berries to make em pop and give the card a little depth. The card IRL is quite pretty.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

You are my inspiration!

This is one of the Stampavie Lelo Dragon Flower and I know I used him the other day but I had to just use it again. It is for my chemo friends, I am an angel and I like to send her bright and fun cards- she likes pink so this should do the trick don't you think? Oh yeah..... she has gone through alot, she is my age, kids and I just think she must be a strong lady- an inspiration to many of us. I hope she smiles.

I used shimmerz on his wings again but I just can not get them to show- no matter how much light and turning of the card I did. But they do look so sweet, they actually look like frosting to me with glitter in it. LOL!- no I know, I won't eat them!

I know it is a short post but it has been a long day and I need to get my beauty rest or else I will look like this guy here............ Before I leave though, I wanted to remind you of the wonderful new Magnolia Pet Collection that is coming to 7kidscollegefund. I am so confused about which ones to get!

Oh and come back tomorrow as I have some exciting news to share with all of you! Well, at least it is exciting news for me............ and I hope you will share in this one!

Pixie who?

Oh my gosh- I got this image in the mail from Kelly over at KLSNS this week and I just fell in love with her- is she not the cutest? And oh so easy to color. I was asking Kelly about her and her name is Pixie Heidi! I am so excited!

So I thought it best make her PINK of course and used Basic Grey Bittersweet papers to coorinate with my copic coloring (don't forget you can order over at KLSNS as well). Like I mentioned the coloring was so easy and finished so well. I added the stickles to give her a little glimmer and then some flower b/c what pixie could be without flowers? Here you can see the stickles that make her really look like a pixie!

Kelly has a sale going on that if you spend $25 you can save $5 using JUNE25 code and if you spend $50 you save $10 using JUNE50 code. She has wonderful new things popping up from Magnolia's, copics, Inkadinkadoo and new CC designs of course.

Sorry to cut this short but I have had some problems with my hands and typing tonight is excruciatingly painful so I hope I didn't misspell anything either! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Light and Salvation

I was feeling a little inspirational this evening and had this image that I had started some time ago and thought I might finish up. So I pulled out all my colors and started coloring Summer Tilda to match the K&Co paper that I had laying on my desk, yes, I honestly had it there and thought let me use it so I don't have to put it away! Ha- is that silly or what? But it worked so go with it I said.

I used my Memento black to stamp the images on my Neenah paper and then of course my yellow and green copics to coordinate. I added some shimmerz to the leaves on the tree as well . The sentiment is one of a few that a friend of mine sent to me and I am just loving them!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend- take care!

You are Special!

Ah alas, I got my Motivet stamps that I had won last week- they came so fast and I had to put some ink to them without hesitation. Is this little guy not the cutest squirrel you've seen? His name is Dexter and I just love the expression on his face! He is happy and so full of, well maybe a little mischief I think! I used some DP that I had in a stack forever I think and matched it up with SU Baha Breeze, although the picture itself does not justice for the colors. I was struggling with the light b/c it is so overcast and rainy!

I hope you all have a FAB day! And stop over at Motivet, there is a posting contest and you could win free stamps- tell Stephanie that Heidi sent you!

Edwin & a Friend

It is an Edwin day for me, this is one of my first Edwin stamps and I love him cause he can sit on the fence, on any of the accessories or he can just sit on the ground with his kitty and enjoy the day in the grass!

The DP is from Basic Grey Lime RickeyI just love the designs and the colors. Plus once again I was able to combine the papers and get a nice effect (hoping to get even better at this!) I almost feel like getting rid of all my other papers and keep just my BG because they are so yummy! (but I won't!, don't fret!) I stamped my image with Memento ink (black tuxedo) and then colored it with my copic markers (for all those new ladies- these are a MUST of course!) Then if you enlarge the picture you can see his wings sparkle, I love this and I used SHIMMERZ on them.

Speaking of shimmerz, Tab over at 7kidscollegefund is having a sale on them and she is going to give you 10% off if you use coupon code shimmer10. And don't forget to get your PRE-orders for the new Magnolia PET collection too!

For You!

I got this sweet little Dragon Flower (Stampavie) from Kelly at KLSNS this last week and I had to ink him up. I had been eyeballing him for awhile, I think he is quite versatile for kids and adults- hee hee.... what guy wouldn't want to be dino-mite!?
So I inked him up and pulled out my blue and yellow copics to coordinate with the paper Basic Grey . I thought this was perfect because it is fun, bright and sassy! LOL~! I didn't put a sentiment on here because I have a couple people that have asked me for cards and so I left it for them to add. I have been trying to sell more of my cards and it is going well- word of mouth!
If you look at this last picture here- I added Shimmerz to his wings so they sparkle and they do! I love these vibrant colors and what they do for your projects- you hafta check em out! I then added a couple of dew drops to finish it off.

I also wanted to announce the sale over at KLSNS. Kelly is selling all the nestabillities in stock at 15% off and the Cuttlebug folders at 25% off. Plus if you spend $25 you will get $5 off with coupon code June 25 and if you spend $50 you will get $10 off with June 50!

Graduation & Magnolia Pet Collection PRE-ORDER!

Happy Saturday all- it looks like a beautiful weekend too! As many of you are doing, I am having to get some cards made for graduations so today is graduation cards. I wanted to make a couple that were simple and quick and these are definately that! I used the current SU graduation stamp set and then a little SU DP and done! I asked my 16 yo son if this card could be used for a boys and he looked at me, thought for a second and said, "Well I guess if he was a little boy." Uh, well it IS a graduation card so he would be a senior! Hello- I am not making kindergarted graduation cards here! I had to laugh. I really wanted to make a few cards out of the same DP in hopes not to leave much scraps- I don't want to waste the yummy card so this is another one of the cards that I made with this DP. So here are a couple simple grad cards that you can do fairly quickly and based on the DP you can designate a girl or boy- I have some girl ones I am also working on so will post them later this week!

I also have to share so wonderful news with you all! Have you been over to 7kidscollegefund recently? Well she has PRE-Orders for the new Magnolia Pet Collection and you have to go and check them out. Look at these precious little things, what do you think? First we have the Lion and then we have Tilda with kitty
There are alot of others as well, more animals, jungle themed Edwin&Tilda, flowers- it is an amazing collection!

Blissful Day

Happy Hump Day!

This little Chasing Tilda is running to you with open arms to give you the lift you need to get through the rest of this week (and into the weekend!).

Now, I have to tell you a little funny though, when I first saw a peek of this image I thought it was a strange image, this was before I knew the name of the collection either. For those that know me well will understand why I thought it was strange- but looking at this little Tilda, I thought they had made her a one legged girl! I honestly thought she had an amputated leg! I personally think they should have shown some sort of foot/shoe even if just a peek of one. But alas, she is still sweet and I would love her all the more with one leg.

I have really been trying to use more designer paper, meaning 2-3 designs on each card because I think it ads a lot to the card- so here is one I had that I got the paper from a designer pack a year or so ago. I am actually trying to use up alot of these papers because I prefer the basic greys and such but can't just throw these out (they are still pretty). My hardware and punch is from SU and the little charm is a K&Co.

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Happy Hello!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope that you are all fairing well this week. We started out with cold and rain yesterday and I thought I might have to turn my heat back on! Brrrrrr is all I could say. But today is starting with the sun trying to peak out and just a little breeze so I am hoping for some sunshine and then I can sit back and relax in my lounger for a bit later.

But I will get on with my little card here. I started by stamping Chasing Edwin that you can find over at 7kidscollege fund. I used momento tuxedo black because I still find this to be the best ink for the best results- along with the neenah cardstock (I love this stuff!). Of course, I used my copic markers to color him and Tab over at 7kids is getting in the copic refills this week so don't forget to get them before you run out! Do you see my stitching? LOL- well I guess you can call it that- I did it on the machine but I tell you I am not good with the sewing machine. Yikes! But I always love cards with stitching on them so I have to do them now and then and it does add to the card I think...... maybe? The flowers are prima, I used a couple different variety for this card. I then added a little bit of stickles to the clouds to make them shimmer.

Just a note: 7kids college fund is having 50% sale on all wood mounted stamps, just use coupon code WOOD50 AND 10% off all shimmerz with coupon code SHIMMER10- both through June 8th!

Well I hope that your day is beautiful, as beautiful as it is in this card for Edwin!
