I got a SURPRISE!

Are these not the cutest site? I had asked my sister who is from Finland (exchange student) if she could look into Magnolia stamps. She told me that a store near her didn't have the ones I wanted and she would watch for them. Well, she was sneaky because I got these in the mail this week! Are they not the sweetest, for those who know and love Magnolias. For those who are not familiar I will show you a card I made out of one of them.

This is Tilda throwing some hearts, not sure what the real name is but I just love her. She is alittle bit bigger and fills the front of the card pretty well. I paper pieced her dress and then used markers for the rest. She was so cute that she just made me happy- Jo made me happy with this package so this is the first card I made with these so I had to put that sentiment on them.
I have a couple more but I have not inked them yet- so keep your eyes out. Thanks for stopping in!

Punches are happy!

This is how happy they are- I was storing my punches in bins in my cabinet and didn't use them that much. Plus, when I needed one I had to pull them all out in search of the one that I thought I wanted. It was just not an effective storage system and led to not using my punches. So, I put some thought into it and went to my husband and asked if he could make me something to hang on the wall. Sure enough (handy isn't he?) he came up with this after I told him about some others that I had seen. Isn't she pretty, yeah, it is a girl cause she is hanging around holding my punches and well, lets face it a man is not going to do that! He will make the holder for you but not stand and hold the punches! LOL! Anyways- I am using my punches so much more now that they hand directly in front of where I do my creating. You probably can tell from the card I posted the other day- I am just loving those punches again. And, yes they are happy too! So- I had to share this with you all- I will share some fun "surprises" I got in the mail this week as well once I have finished creating with them.....................

Sweet Strawberries....

This is another card I made with tart and tangy- you know I mentioned bling well........ this is not quite bling but the strawberry is covered in tiny micro beads. I used red on the strawberry and clear on the stem, both which I had colored before beading. It was quick, easy and it looks so sweet. I layered it on the punched circles and then the scallop punch (SU). I used the word window for the ever grateful sentiment. I rounded the corners of the little card you can pull out and write on. Did I use enough punches Denise??? LOL! She likes her punches that girl. Here is a close up of the little embellishment. I love the beads! I also used the signo gel pen in white on the scallops to make it stand out a bit.
This set is just too darned cute and I have not even used the other fruit in it really! If you like fun cute sets this is a MUST!
That is it for tonight- I will show you what my hubby made for me tomorrow! Cya!

Tropical Breeze...............

This is a picture that we took from the front of the resort this last week. We were in Cabo San Lucas and you are looking out across the Sea of Cortez to Lover's Beach. It was a beautiful week, wonderful resort and we got lots of rest. Thought I would share a couple photos with you all as a few had asked. This second picture is out on a water taxi that we took out to Lover's Beach. They give you a tour around the tip of the Baja Peninsula. You get to see the rocks, the coastal slit which is where the water from the Pacific comes into the Sea of Cortez and then of course the Sea Lions up close. This is the famous Arch that you see antime you see photos of Cabo San Lucas. It is pretty cool- at low tide you could actually walk under the arch, but most of the time the water is rough and you wouldn't go out there. Hope you enjoyed these and they make you all warm and happy (especially those enduring the cold and snow right now).
For those of you that come here to see crafts and not my vacation: onto a little project I had a little time to work on this weekend. I was having some withdrawals- even though I had a blast I was missing the release of some creativity. So, I got tart and tangy and make these little thank you cards with it. I will show you another one I am working on tomorrow- same set but with a little bling/fun! This is not a set that I would typically get but it is in the new SU mini, it is sweet and is a really good price. Then I got to thinking beads, scratch n sniff.......... and had to buy it!
That is it for tonight- I will bring you some more goodies later this week. Hoping life will settle now that we are back and I can do some fun stuff. PLUS my hubby made me a new "organization" piece and I look forward to showing you all.
Cya!

With the weather the way that it has been I just had to get myself into the mood for spring! So I used Time Well Spent with spring colors, glitter and bling~! I just love it. I used my markers and waterbrush to color the flowers in, cut them out and used a little 3D to lift them off the front. OH- the back of the card? Well that is white cardstock and glimmer mist by Tattered Angels. You just spray it on and let it dry: it has a litte shimmer to it. I think that it might have worked better on shiny cardstock cause the edges did want to turn up some.
I should let you all know that we will be leaving for Mexico this week so I will probably not get to post again until we return. But when I get back I will have some warm weather photos for you~!

Expecting a bundle!

I just had to post this sweet little card- it is a Bella (pregabella) and I just think she is the cutest little girl. I actually got these images from a PIF on SCS- if you want images of sets that you don't have you should seriously check it out. To find it go to SCS, swaps and then everything else and look for image PIF. It is so cool!
Then this little bookmark is once again my Magnolia images: Tilda with bird. I just colored her in with my markers. The pink is actually a tag that I used the Distressed Crackle Pain (worn lipstick). You brush the paint on and as it dries it starts to look like cracked paint- it is pretty neat. The amount of crackle depends on the thickness of the paint you apply. This one just has a little bit and then I took a sponge and sponged it with pixie pink to get it into the cracks! Not sure what I will be doing with this but I just think it is cute.
Have a great weekend, I will try and post one more time before I head out for some time in Nashville. Stay warm!
