you INSPIRE me

Happy Sunday!

I know, this is my second post for today and that is because I was very ambitious this weekend and wanted to play in a couple of challenges.  This particular card I designed for the Cheery Lynn Mother's Day challenge.  This card is so pretty in person, I wish it captured as well in the photos.  Nothing says spring and mother like flowers and butterflies.

I did end up using a handful of punches but the Cheery Lynn ones are the doily and the 2 bigger butterflies.

Diva's were Daring Me........ (again!)

Thought I would pop in for a quick post of a project I did for the Viva Dare for April.  It was fun and springy so I thought I should play along.  Basically you had to use bright colors and flowers and/or butterflies (or a die cut) as the main focus on the card.  So....... I knew immediately I was going to pull out my Gina's Designs Laser Die Cut with what other than flowers and butterfly on it!

The stamped images are Verve, the flowers are Wild Orchid!  I think it turned out to be a very simple and clean thank you card!  Have a great day!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Inspiration

Happy Thursday, almost Friday--- YAHOO!  Anyone as excited as I am?  Tonight I was browsing the internet and came upon the PTI Blog and challenge hop and thought I can do that!  The challenge is to put your image, your sentiment or your background on a tilt.  Well if you are like me, this is not always easy, sometimes it is down right scary to do that!  So a challenge is what I was up for!

So this is what I came up with.  Graduation time is right around the corner, especially for those college grads and close behind those high school grads.  I thought I would build up a few of these little gems to give away or sell.  I love the colors and the simplicity of the card and well each piece is on some sort of angle and I think it fits well.  Hope you do too!

Have a great weekend!

Gina's Designs Chipboard Album

Hello- well I have been working on another Gina's Designs project and opted for this little tabbed album that she sent to me.  I think that I might use it as an inspirational card for someone.  I also used alot of lazer cut chipboard on this one so you know it was fun. I got to pull out the paint cans (hubbies paint I might ad!). The front has the dress form, hinge straps, stackable labels.
This is the first page, and I used the keys and plate set along with the beautiful doily- have you seen these? They are AMAZING.
The next set of pages is for inspiration....... and again, several different lazer cuts.  Butterflies, Flourishes 2, Gears and the Inspire is a new addition.

This page here uses Steampunk set (hot air balloon).
And this page here (below) is so pretty. I used a variety of items on it.
And this is the previous page in full along with the back page- that huge stackable label is so pretty along with that sweet vintage boot from the ladies miniatures!
Well I do hope you enjoyed the album: I know it was a long post with lots of pictures but wanted to show you the entire album.  I do hope you will stop back soon!

BLOG HOP TIME!!!

Welcome to Gina's Designs Blog Hop !!!!

Since April 15-22 is World Creativity and Innovations Week we have decided to host a blog hop in hopes of inspiring our viewers and customers to create a project using products or techniques that you have not used before.  In keeping with this theme each  Gina's Designs team member will be unveiling a project that we have created that is a little outside our comfort zone. We would love for you to stop over to each design team member to see the fabulous projects and techniques and comment to enter to win prizes.

So my project is a mixed media project.  I initially started out making a Steampunk project but then my mind went astray.  This was a really fun project and it definately gave me exposure to some new mediums and now I just want to pull out more canvas and create..... that is after I find the perfect frame for this one.   I started with 2 mediums  Snow-tex and  a handmade medium mixture of powder, white paint and modge podge.  Both gave me a little different texture but also allowed me to adhere my pieces together.

So this first close up allows you to see not only the sprockets but the texture.  I used some gauze mixed with the mediums and it all dries very bumpy.
Here I used the medium mixed with beads and then used it to attach the pieces.  The mediums both have a adhesive component so it was perfect as a combined product.  And a close up of the flowers mixed with the feathers, doily, and butterfly.
I do hope that you found this canvas inspiring and if you decide to accept our challenge, post your project in the comments and I will come and visit you!   Otherwise, be sure to post a comment here to be entered to win my PRIZE of a $10 gift certificate to Gina's Designs.

The next stop on the blog hop is KATHI

Lace and Pearls, Vintage Goodness

I have a secret "sister" that I wanted to make a special gift for and so this weekend I set to making this little box.  The paper is Life Stories and I got a bunch of laces from my mother around Christmas and had yet to pull them out and use them.  These are all cotton laces, the one is about 2.5 inches wide, one is a lace with just pearls and then I put an eyelet lace over the top- I think that it makes it look so vintage.

I used my Gina's Designs Laser Filigree Frames pieces on the top of the box to highlight the sentiment and then of course to put a butterfly to flight.  The butterfly is all glittered with chunky golden glitter.  I didn't cover the frame at all, left it the kraft color that it was when I pulled it out of the package.
A little closer look at the top of the box, doesn't it look vintagy?  I do hope you will come back April 19th  for our first Gina's Designs Blog Hop.  There are going to be some wonderful give aways and if you've not tried out these lazer die cuts- you WILL want to win!

Mojo is BACK!

I feel like I am getting some mojo back. I got to sit down this afternoon and tasked myself to play in the Mojo Monday Challenge this week.  I always love this challenge and have not been able to play in awhile.  I pulled out this new pad of paper that I got awhile ago and this is what I came up with.  See that little doily?  That is one of the Gina's Designs Lasercut doilies- and I just adore them.  You get a package of 12 different sizes/designs.

Best Friend Ever!

Hello my friends! Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.  Today I had some time to get a little crafty so thought I would join the Cheery Lynn challenge.  I wanted to do a card a little different and so I did this multiple fold card- you know these take a little more time but I really do like how they turn out.  The butterflies, vines and the fence are Cheery Lynn. I hope it inspires you to try something new.

Alot of THANKS!

Hello! I was going through my box of cards and realized I am low on thank you cards so I figured I would set to working on a few this weekend.  I wanted to keep them simple, which I do think that both of these sketches are very basic.  But I also got to pull out my copics and do a little coloring.  The stamp is ODBD.

Have a GREAT WEEK!
