Romantic Altered Album

Hello and Happy Monday!  This weekend I have been extremely busy making some altered albums.  I  got some really nice book board from a local publishing company.  So I have been cutting it down to the size I need, covering it with designer paper and then of course embellishing it.

This album, after looking at it would make a wonderful wedding album based on the front page. I love the softness of this paper added with a little cream lace/ribbon and some flowers of course!

I wanted to make sure there were some pockets to save little trinkets and memorabilia from either the planning of the wedding or even the wedding itself- as a little coffee table album.

This is the back page, that little tag just adds so much romance to the album don't you think?

I do hope that this album gives you a little inspiration to create: I know I have thoroughly enjoyed all the ones I have been making this weekend!

Colorful Support

Hello all!   It was a busy Sunday creating for me, I think that being on vacation gave me some inspiration to get back to crafting.  I thought I would continue to work on some challenges and I chose this one for the Flourishes anniversary colorful celebration challenge.   I had seen a similar circle card a few weeks ago and I had to give it a try- it was a lot of fun: whimsical and clean.

Have a great week!

Pretty in Purple

Happy Monday!

So over on Really Reasonable Ribbon they are challenging us to make purple cards.  Well I for one am not a real purple kind of gal, it is probably one of the last colors (besides green) that I grab so this was a true challenge for me.  And after I made the card I realized it really has alot of white on it!

I was talking to my pal Ginny about my photography skills, I really struggled with this card.  First the ribbon is a gorgeous purple and has a shimmer to it and the camera just did not want to "capture" it.  Then it was dusk and so I tried to get as much light as I could find to photograph it.  Overall- the card is definately a frilly purple girlie card, clean and crisp.

Have a fabulously PURPLE day!

2. You need to become a follower of each of our blogs.
3. You will need to gather all the letters and words along the way and put them into a little sentence and email the sentence to Heidi at pinkprincess67@gmx.com
4. All correct entries will be put in to win the prizes all of us are giving away on our blogs.
5. Prizes will be posted on each of our blogs on Saturday August 25th.

So to get started here is my project,  it is a little album that would be great to put a few little friendship photos into as you head off to college or even just back to school.   This was a great project to pull out my binding system and put it to use, it just seems like I use it in little spirts and then it gets put back in the corner.

The papers I chose to use were from the October Afternoon Collection.  At first I thought it would turn out a little more vintage but as I was working on this project it took on a life of its own and went more towards the bright, cheerfulness.
Here is a picture of one of the pages on the inside.  There are actually 3 full sets of pages where pictures can go. Over all this measures  4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Then I just had to post a picture of one of the little embellishments that are on one of the pages.... this I made with a MB die and some cute button!  I hope the person that gets this will be able to use it or feel it is nice enough to put on their shelf with their handmade goodies.  I have a couple of shelves that I put handmade items from friends on to display them and give me inspiration.  What do you do?

Hope you enjoyed a little inspiration here BE  TODAY (hint these might be your words),  leave me a little love and then hop on over to Ginny at Polly's Paper Studio to see what she has in store for you, I am sure it will delight you.

( UPDATE: we had a last minute change in the blog hop and the last gal on the list has dropped. If you already went through the hop please note I added an additional word so that you have all your letters and words to complete your phrase and email to me.)

Bringing back My favorites...............

Hey, glad you stopped by today!

I am spending time with my family this week so I don't have anything new so I thought I would post a few of my favorites.

First I am going to start with a Valentine's Day card I made with what I would say was some mixed media.  I ended up loving how this card turned out with all the beads, die cuts and embossing on it.  The mix of cream, pink and red was so yummy.  Although the card ended up 5x5 and quite bulky it was a wonderful V'day treasure.

The next item is not a card but this year I started altering more items and this was a patriotic box that I painted and decorated for a dear friend that had a daughter in the military.  You unfortunately can't see all the little beads and opaque embellishments that adorn the top.  I do love those little buttons and twine though.

Ok, so this one is a "love" card for a wedding and this was a sketch I got from someone and I love how each of the little panels was a unique little creation.

And this one, I don't even know what to say. This was a card I made, inspired by Julee Tilman (verve) and to this day I am in love with this card.  I love the tecniques, the texture of the card and the lovely shabby chic look. I would frame it if it wasn't so thick.

Land that I love..............

I know, I know- I am a little bit behind posting this card. The reason?  I got this set just around the 4th of July but wanted to get some use of it.  I think it will be good for Labor Day as well though, you think?

As you head into this week I hope you have a wonderful one!  We are going to be doing some family time this week so I may not be posting as much unless I can get a few projects done ahead of time.

Take care- Heidi

No, I know its not Halloween but......

Good Morning Everyone!  Today brings some cooler weather here and some much needed rain too!  If you know me, that is not typically what I would say I enjoy but I welcome it this week.  I might even get to work on a few projects too!

So these cards are ones I made last Sunday when I went to visit my friend and shop owner Ginny.  She invited me to a paper play date and I was not going to turn that down.

The first card I started with just the softest little polka dots (luv me some dots!) and started layering these funny little skeletons, that well I guess in their own way are scary- we will give them that.  OH- and see those little rosettes?  Well Ginny taught me how to make those and now I am on a rosette making spree. I have like 20 of them glued to a file folder.  LOL!  (you know that means you will be seeing them again).

This second card I started with making memories papers and changed the direction of the card.  The little halloween card is from my stash and Ginny gave me the bingo cards which I am loving using.  Another rosette with a little brad in it!

Well that is it for me today, I need to get myself being creative so I can get some things posted this week don't I?  I was more than slacking last week I might add.
