This card is a little different. I participated in a challenge over on SCS and it was a sketch as well as choosing a photo as inspirations. Well when I first saw the photo of a dining room done in brown tones, it had a cloth tablecloth on it and the drapes in the background draped as well- so this was my first though. It definately gives it textures and bulkiness. But I think that I like it-

One World One Heart-

One World One Heart is a wonderful Event where bloggers from all over the world come together and share their creativity, learn about one another and well, win goodies too! But this is the creation of Lisa and has brought many kindred spirits together!
This years theme is the magic carpet ride and think about how fun that would be......... to take off and do something that you might never expect to be able to do! Ah- young at heart and so full of adventure. I love it! So I of course, got my ticket to ride and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the creative people that I have met and all the unbelievable ideas I have gotten. Please join us in this event, now held annually and growing bigger and bigger each year.

This year I am giving away a book, a book that my friend Eileen actually took the Magic Carpet Ride and published! I was amazed that she did this (we all have that desire to invent or create something don't we?) It is a beautiful book and I have given you some sneak peeks below. This could be your lucky ticket as this is being given away to some lucky carpet rider!

This was a dream come true don't you think? And the girl in the book, she is so lively and well illustrated after Eileen's daughter.

Now tell me what little girl would not want to have a book illustrated after herself? And to have it so wonderfully put into color. These are pages of the book and it is a very simple book but also very "to the point".

Eileen's goal was to really let children understand that we are who we think or believe we are, which can be anyone and anything we choose! How cool is that?
To be eligible to win a copy of this book:
1. You need to have an active blog- hence our flight around the world of blogs.
2. You MUST add a comment below and include an email or some way for me to make contact with you once this event is done- in order to mail the book to you.
3. I will use random org to choose the winner and post the winner Feb 15th 9pm.
People are asking- where can I buy more of these books.......... so I will tell you that you can get it here I AM . They are fast shippers as well!
Take care and good luck! Heidi

Smooshy

Giggling........ that title is the only thing I could think of when I looked at this little bear with his heart pillow. It looks so squishy and smooshy doesn't it? I saw pillows like that at Target, have you seen them? They are like 4 feet! I love them.

This is an image that my friend Tammi sent to me around the holidays and I thought well he is a holiday bear but why can't he be a Valentine holiday bear? Well you know how some of us are- just gotta mess with things. So he is a little Valentine bear but I went with a non traditional Valentine saying because, well.............. honestly I have enough Valentine cards and not enough people to send them to! This DSP went so well with the SU curry and razzleberry didn't it?

Hope you are all staying warm!

Hello Sunshine!

Happy Monday!
Well I am back from my trip and what a trip it was. I was out in Reno with that big snowfall in Tahoe, oh and all that rain! Geesh, I thought I had landed in Michigan again! But they also got a little sunshine and that was nice, WOW- and those mountains, although small as they are in that area are so pretty.
On to my card, this is one that I am doing as a challenge: one for the color and the other for the sketch. I chose the black/grey because I wanted it to be clean and crisp. With that, the card really speaks for itself I think! Have a great week!

Pink Chocolate

Once again- another challenge from SCS today. I kept it simple: chocolate, cream and pink. I love the colors together still........... just looks so yummy doesn't it? I wanted to make it a card with a gift, so I added the paperclip that I got, they are K&Co and for the price I couldn't make them. They were on clearance for 97cents for 4 of them. I nabbed them and wish there were more.
Heading into another weekend........ I just love my weekends, but I will not be back from Reno until the wee hours of Saturday morning so might take a little break this weekend. Take care.

Hugs

Happy Day!

Today's card is made using a sketch over on SCS for Verve's January Challenge. I chose the grey, pink and white one because it was clean and crisp! The image is a free digi that Julee offered during the release week.
The left side I used my Circus Circus set with pretty in pink, rose and grey- I actually am very happy with the way it turned out. I find that many times when I try to make my own DSP it doesn't give me the look I want- well it looks like someone tried to make DSP. But I am happy with this one. Oh and that is moss that I added in there for a little contrast.
Ok, off for now- traveling to Reno this week so trying to get things done ahead of time. Have a wonderful day.

Butterfly Memories

I am trying to build up my sympathy cards, can you tell? I like this one, it is a little busy again but I find it calming as well. I added a little texture and then of course my little butterlfies. Mailing this card will be a little challenging but I think that if the butterfly is safely tucked in then it can be fluffed up a little after it is pulled back out.

Once again, this is a short post today- I look at my post and think what else should I add? I dunnoh! But have a wonderful day.

Took a little break from Valentine's. This is a color challenge that I participated in this week and I like the colors. I don't get to use the grey as much as I would like but it does go well- plus as you see I got to use a few of my embossing folders which is also nice.

I hope you are all staying warm and dry. It is very cold here in Michigan and I don't see a spring in store for months. Ugh........ well, more crafting I guess. C ya!

Valentine Kiss Box

Okay back today for another short post.......... I hope you all don't mind the shortness. It was a busy week but then I got a couple days off and thought I would just play. So I got all my stuff posted and well, what do you say when you are posting 3-4 days ahead of time. Ha! Not alot I guess.

But this is a little Valentine treat box, once again for a challenge. I used a couple of my punches to decorate the tops and bottom. I actually made the box out of a transparancy and it was very easy. Uhem, where did the rest of the candy go? LOL!

Have a good one!

Vintage Valentine

Doesn't this have a nice little hint of vintage to it? I made this for a Verve challenge to use chipboard. And I have a fair amount of it but never use it....... so I used two of them on this card which I covered with some glittery misting. I kept the sentiment simple, a digi given away by Verve as well. I just like the feel of it I guess.
Hope you have a great weekend.......... get to using your chipboard!

Am I too LOUD?

I know you are wondering why I would make a sympathy card so bright and colorful, and busy? Well I am always struggling to make these and there was a challenge on Verve that I wanted to try and I wanted it still to be colorful. The flower is from SU and the sentiment is one I have in rubber but wouldnt fit so I printed it. I guess it is kind of a "loud" sympathy card.

Just a little smile

This little card I made using some scraps, I am in a scrap use up mood. Simple sketch with simple little embellishments. Thought I would just share it with you and hope it brings a little smile to your face. I have a bunch of challenge things coming over the next couple of days so be on the look out.

Sweet Sugary Glitz

Hello everyone! Hre is another Valentine's Day card that I made this last weekend. I had the strong desire for some bling, some glitz and glitter. I am not usually a glitter gal but I just had to pull out the glue pad and that beautiful red glitter from SU and give it a try on this card. What do you think? I know you can't really get the glitter bling look from it, but it sure is sparkly in RL. Once again, I like it because aside from punching the hearts and glittering them up it is a simple card but it says what it means.
I tried to take a closer picture of the glittery hearts and they actually look sugary to me. LOL! They are both done with very fine glitter and the glue pad and it works fabulous. I still had some glitter all over but that is probably the operator! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Passion

Today's card is made with one of my SU set and it really is a simple card once again. I used kraft cardstock as my base and layered with chocolate chip. The grass is stamped in kiwi and then I used a chocolate marker to make the cat tails...... I love these! I am going to send this card to someone that is in need of a little "lifting up!".

Happy Day

Today I wanted to show you a little project that I did. When we were up north this summer my friend had a soap bottle on her sink that was so pretty: and I believe it was basically an olive oil bottle. So I remembered I has these this weekend and thought it was about time to pull them out and put some rub ons on them and actually use them (to think!).

So the rub on are the ones that were SAB ones from last year and I chose the olive ones because my kitchen is more of a sage but I figured they would go well together. I could not believe how quickly I was able to make this sweet little soap bottle. Even my husband was thrilled we could remove that unsightly bottle of "whatever brand it is" dish soap.

Now if you are wondering where to find these bottles, I got mine a long time ago at Craft2000 I think it was but I noticed that alot of those kitchen gadget stores in like outlet malls have them too! And they really are called olive oil bottles.

Here is a little closer picture of the bottle. I was thinking what kind of sentiment might I put on this little doo dad, because honestly I do not enjoy doing dishes. So I thought Happy Day might be appropriate. LOL!

With that- Happy Day to you all!

Pitter Patter Valentine

Hello and here I am again with another pink card. I apologize but between my love of the color and then Valentine's day what can I say. Plus this is a piece of DSP that I had and wanted to use it up (you may see it again in the next week or so too!) But this sketch is Mercy's Tuesday sketch and I have really been trying to join these ladies and keep my mojo going. This weather is so cold, I have not left my home in 5 days- but that means I just want to laze around and sleep in my heated bed. LOL! Well and I don't know what I will do with all these Valentine cards b/c I don't usually send or give any and my boys are too old to take em to school and too young to give them to the "girl friends yet). So who knows.......... hope you like them though!

Pink is awesome!

I hope you all do not get tired of the pink and black. After making my card yesterday I could not resist making another one. I did a little different sketch so to mix it up a little. The DSP is still the STampin Up paper pack and my cardstock is also all SU. I used my new little die cuts to give me the scalloped and straight edge circles as well........... they fit so nicely together! The hugs n kisses sentiment is one in an old stamp set.

Now- get those sweet Valentine's going gals!

Lets Get To It!

Well I am back! I feel like I have abandoned you all but thank you all for your wonderful comments over the last week or so! Today's card is one that I made for two challenges: Mojo Monday and then Little Paper Shop (required pink, white and black). The colors that I used here I find are so striking to use together. I mean, typically I would not use black on a Valentine's card but I just love it. The DSP is all Stampin Up as is the cardstock, then I used a couple punches/flowers to add a little zip to it all.

I hope you are getting into the mood to get your Valentine's ordered. I am going to get the new Stampin Up set with treat cups because it is Sale A Bration and I want free goodies!

Take care!

My little friend

Happy Birthday Jake! I know he won't check my blog but I had to wish him a good day, he is my baby that is turning 14 today! I can remember the day...................................

But today's card is also another sweet Forever Friends bear image that my blogger friend Tammy sent to me for Christmas (she was a doll!). I wanted to use up those scraps of paper that I have been forever saving so I stuck with the blue and red but just did a little different sketch with this one. I know, my New Years cards are late but I have never send these types of cards so well........... just saying, they are late but hopefully enjoyed! LOL!

Have a blessed day!

Its a Snowman's New Year!

I got this sweet little image from my blogging friend Tammi and I just had to make a New Years card out of it. This is a little Forever Friends stamp I do believe and this is his very special snowman friend (I think anyways). I pulled out my SU scraps to put this one together after choosing the red and blues as my focus. I also added a little white flower soft that my other sweet friend Cindy sent to me for Christmas! Thanks Tammi and Cindy!

I hope you are all recovering from a wonderful and safe evening of celebration!
