For the Guys

I thought I would give you all a little break from the pinks and reds that I have been posting most recently. I have really been trying to use my, toys shall I say for lack of a better word. I had started with a sizzix and then I got the cuttlebug- well my sizzix broke and so I moved up to the Big Shot which in essence does it all (well except the cooking and laundry and I am still working on that part!). LOL. Anyhow- I found a cuttlebug blog and it has given me inspiration to use my folders and dies again. If you are feeling like me- give it a try.
So today we have some High Hopes stamps and the card is for the challenge of making a Male Card and using your cuttlebug. So I used SU DP on the top and then used the Swiss Dots Folder on the lower portion of the card. I colored my cart with my copics and added just a smidge of ribbon, just enough to NOT make it femine. I also punched out the SU photo corner from the swiss dot paper and framed my cart. I think that it turned out cute.
Have a great day ladies!

Dangling Heart

Oh sweet Tilda, isn't she just the cutest little thing? I actually think that this is a Christmas image but that heart was calling me to turn it into a Valentine's Day Card! giggling.......... So I did! Now, I got a sewing machine for Christmas and for those of you who know me they are laughing hysterically, probably rolling on the floor because I am soooooo not domestic in that way. I just hope to keep it working for cards alone. So I stitched in white (sorry, it was the only color I had at the time!) my first layer! What do you think? Kind of boring? yeah- well I need practice for sure. I use K&Co Valentine paper and then added a little glitter to it to give it a little sparkle. The heart is an inkadinkadoo I think and I stamped in SU Rose Red and hung it there, popped on some dots. The ribbon is also SU Rose Red.

Love in Bloom

Oh is this little giraffe not the cutest little giraffe you have ever seen? I mean, come on if you met him you would not be able to resist hugging him around the long neck (even if he was munching on your most prized posies!). I got this image from someone last year and the first time I did this I used flock on him and it was adorable, might even have it somewhere in my archives but can't recall. This time I thought I would make a Valentine Card but I had to use flowers on it for the Whimsy Stamp Challenge of Flower Power and I think that I got it- lots of flowers and PINK!. I colored him with my copics and the DP is once againf rom my K&CO Valentine pack and I layered with SU pretty in pink and then another brand but can't recall- it is Archivers. The pink ribbon was in the dollar bin at Mike's last fall and I love it, it is soft and ties nicely. See the charm- I am always looking for charms and that I found in the jewelry department at Mike's as well! I hope you enjoy him!

What a pill!

Are these not the cutest pill bottles? I had them sitting on the counter now for like 3 weeks (may be more but who is countin except hubby!) so I thought I can't just throw them out. So I thought I would use them for a challenge- Stamp Something Challenge wants us to make a project using something new, well of course the bottles are not new but the Sprites on top and the paper is all new. So I covered the pill bottles with the DP which is a K&Co paper and I used red sticky tape to hold it or else it didn't want to hold well. I also used sticky tape to put the ribbon on, I had the ribbon hang over the edge of the rim so that it would fully cover the bottle lip. This is SU Rose Red grosgrain and it matched so well. I put a scallop on the top that was coordinating with the DP and then some sprites with pearls. The one bottle needed something so I added the pearls and it just was perfect. When I showed my husband what I did he got a smile on his face, looked them over and said they were pretty cool (but note, he will not put one on his desk to hold paperclips or anything! Go figure!). I am going to send the one to one of my staff- you're fabulous with something in it. What do you think?

BLOG CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!! You Must go and see what my friend RACH is giving away- a NEW YEAR BLOG CANDY that you will not want to miss..............go- check it out HERE!

Valentine Tilda

I was honestly having so much fun making Christmas cards and still have stamps that I have not used but it was time to move on. So to get me going I decided to join the Roses on Paper sketch Challenge to give me guidance (cause you all know that a small kick in the pants of creativity is what I needed!). Anyways- this is Tilda holding a rose, it is an older stamp but still cute as ever. I used my nesties to make the scalloped oval and then took SU Real Red around the edges, coloring Tilda with copics. The background paper is my new SWEET pad from DCWV and some SU Pretty Pink. I added a couple heart buttons and some brads and there you go!

I have been trying to be a bit more creative and decorating the inside of my cards as well, you'll notice a lot of ladies doing that these days and it just ads so much to the
card and makes it more appealing. So here is the inside of my card and then off to the side is a little decoration I put on the envelope.
Have a great day!

Be Mine

I thought it was time to start working on some Valentine's Day Cards. I typically do not do many of these because we don't really celebrate it and so I don't really send out any cards. But this little guy from Whipper Snapper was calling my name! Isn't he the cutest? This sketch is from the Friday Sketchers Challenge- gotta love those girls for giving me the inspiration. I colored him with my copics and layered him on Pretty Pink and Rose Red. The DP is from my new K&Co paperpack that I got after Christmas 50% off. I couldn't believe it- Valentine and Easter paper pack on sale. The little brads are some in my stash that I can not remember what brand they are but there are like 20 in the pack and different patterns and sizes (soooooo cute!) . With that I hope you are still enjoying the celebration of the New Year!
