Flying......

I can not believe it has been a full week since I last posted, it has actually been a week since I crafted too!  This particular card came together over multiple days due to having limited time to pull it all together.

This week at ABC Toys & Crafts we are previewing Penny Black stamps and I just got this sweet Fly Away one in the mail from Julie.  I have wanted it for at least 2 years, that little boy is just so darned cute.  It also touches my heart because my son is in the aviation program and will have his pilots license in the next couple of weeks and I wanted to give him a card congratulating him.  Oh I know he will roll his eyes but I could not help myself.

I also used the MS star border, Nestabilities Curved Rectangles, and multiple copics of course.

Glitz It!

It is Saturday my friends!  I am truly thankful for this weekend I tell you.  Does it seem like each week gets longer and longer?  I finally got to create after having a few days off and it was so nice.   So, how this card started...........

Thursday I have to go and get a filling at the dentist (this is not the fun part!) and a few steps away is my new found friend last year Jinny, who owns the sweetest PINK scrapbooking store- Polly's.  Imagine that you go into work each day, make a pot of coffee, sit and browse the internet and create with beautiful paperie- does she not have the bestest job, the one many of us dream of?

So she is telling me about her Glitz line and then she is encouraging me to participate in the Glitz challenge this month and so this card begins.  This pink striped paper- is it gorgeous? Uh, yeah......... like nothing!  I have not used the product before but I must say the papers are beautiful, the embellishments are fabulously vintage and well- that sums it up.   So to finish the story- this is my card for the Glitz April Challenge- Spring.

I did actually add the pink flower with stickles all over it to the little card from Blitz and I hope you can tell it just picks up the flowers on the card and makes them pop right off the page.   The swirl is from Cheery Lynn - and then I hope I didn't over do the beads and pearls.... is that even possible?

Well thanks for stopping in today and hope you all get to be creative this weekend!

Vintage Page Map

Hello and welcome! Today I am excited about my card although I will tell you that I am terribly disappointed in the photos.  For whatever reason and honestly it is baffling to me, my pictures are clear and nice and then when I load them- just not as crisp. This card is so pretty in real life.

But you know what, you didn't come to hear me whine did you?  This card is using a page map by Becky Fleck over on CropStop.  The pagemap is awesome and I followed it with with a couple variations.  Obviously it is not a scrapbook page but rather a birthday card.  I start with the flags along the far left and mine are varying heights and all 3 actually curl.  Then there is the picture and this is a raised frame over some designer paper and then I added the butterfly, the swirl by Cheery Lynn, along with some beads. Next is the section that shows on the map as lines and what I did is embossed this beautiful black swirled designer paper and along the bottom I did some paper piercing, the little flags and then another strip with piercing.  The final section to the far right is my sentiment along with the butterfly and some beading.  I just hope you can see some of the fine details.

I hope you enjoyed the pagemap!

Sweet Cupcakes

Good Morning!  I am still working on my birthday cards this week, stocking up on my stash.  I am using the Waltzingmouse sketch along with the "sweet" label.  I just adore this set, the style and all but sometimes I really struggle on how to use them.  I found this cute little sentiment and thought they would go well together- was I wrong?  I added the little button/bow to submit for the Crop Stop Button and Bow Challenge as well.

So that is it for me today- thanks to everyone for all the sweet comments over the last few posts.  Makes me feel good that you all like my creations!

ABC Monday

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and got some "crafty" time.  I set to working on this weeks Stampavie (Lets Party) themed card for ABC Toys & Crafts. I just got this stamp (both stamps in the set) and could not wait to ink it up and make a birthday card.  I am still trying to build up my stash for birthday cards.

This photo is a close up of the gifts which are colored with copic markers and then just a little of stickles added to give it some glistening.  The balloons are colored and then cut out and tucked into the bows.  A-ha the bow, I don't know what to say, it is not the type of bow I wanted but after you try a handful of time you just gotta go with it. Right?  I think it all fits together well though.
In the meantime if you have not joined us this month for the challenge- stop on over.  There is always a prize and everyone has the chance to win!

Bloomin Flower

Hello all my fabulously crafty friends!

Today's card is a jump on my Mother's Day card(s). I chose a new stamp for Crafter Companions, just some beautiful flowers dangling.  I colored them with the copic markers and the designer paper is from SU (older pack).  I wish that I could capture this picture alittle better because the colors are just enlightening.  Love it!
