Paying It Forward...............

A few weeks ago I stopped at Delena's blog and she was giving away a "prize" to the first three people that commented on her blog. It was a fun way to put a smile on someone's face. The little catch was that whomever got the package had to pay it forward by sending out something. So here it goes................... aren't those pink gifts so PURRRRRTY? Well I can't guarantee your prize will be pink or look like that but it will be something fun and useful? So, you up for it? You want to get "FUN" mail? All you have to do is be one of the first 2 people to post here AND you have to agree to PIF to someone else! It can be anything, handmade, store bought, you get to chooose!

Birthday Wish!

Hello! Happy Sunday............... thanks for stopping by today! Today I am here with a copic colored Magnolia card. It has been a very long time since I got my copics out and spent some time coloring. But, I will ad that I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The DSP is Basic Grey and layered on Stampin Up cardstock. The border punch is one that I have had for years, it is a fiskars (dark blue) one and I found it in the bottom of my punch drawer. Gotta love when I find something I have not used in so long, makes me feel like I just got something new!
Have a great day!

Coffee and Cream

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! Thanks for making a little stop here as I am sure you have lots of stops to make- I feel blessed! My card today- I have to apologize for the photo because it really doesn't do it any justice. The card itself is simple but it is also elegant but the picture is, well lets put it this way- I was sooooo struggling with it.

The base of the card is Neenah cream carstock. Then I used some DCWV linen closet (creams, browns and some blues). The sentiment (SU) is stamped with brown momento and cut with the nestabilites, layered on top of another cream nesties that is embossed with the fleur folders. Add a button and little twine and a "masculine" birthday card. Dontcha think?

Have a great day! Heidi

Research and be Inspired!

Welcome! Thanks for stopping in! Today's projects are for the CropStop Challenge. We were challenged to make an ATC card that was inspired by Claudine Hellmuth. Now, my first thought was "Who?" LOL! So off I went to do some research and after watching some youtube videos and blogs this is what was inspired in this head of mine. The ATC on the left I used water paper to stamp on, it just gave it more of a canvas look. The flower is made with the Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch stamp and then die cut with the Daisy Patch nestabilities. The word DREAM is from the Stampers Anonymous Odds & Ends set.

The ATC on the right I started out with salmon paint on the card. I then embossed it with the Tim Holtz Crackled Texture Fade. The flowers are again the Heartfelt Creation Daisy Patch and Nestabilities Daisy Patch Die. The ticket stamp is from the Odds & Ends set as well. I hope you will join us for the challenge!

ALSO- there is a Claudine Hellmuth SALE going on over at Cropstop: 10% off and if you use my code CTHS-01 you can get an additional 10% off too! So whatcha waiting for?

Ha ha- well as you can see I had a good time with my Pink Paislee papers this last weekend. I just couldn't get enough of it AND you know I like to try and get as many cards made with the paper before it goes into the scrap paper box. It was a successful weekend I might add! :) Oh, and that cute little thank you, that is VERVE. Have a great day!

Waltzing through Challenges

Hello my friends, thank you for stopping in today!
Today's card is made for the Waltzinghouse sketch challenge, I don't have any of their stamps but just recently found them and they have some fabulous stamps. So now I have to save up and get myself some yummies! In the meantime I will play along and maybe I will some! I started with the SU parfait cardstock and set it with Pink Paislee DSP and then as you can see, pretty simple and self explanatory. The flowers that I use are typically the Recollections paper roses. The embossing folder is the SU weave.

What is your favorite color(s)?

Welcome back friends! I hope you find this card to be fun and cheerful. I made it over the weekend as I was thinking about how the weather was going to change and we were going to be getting rain, freezing sleet and snow! Does that even sound remotely cheerful? No, I didn't think so .............. but this card makes me think of warm weather days. Plus it uses alot of pink and orange and I am really hooked on those colors right now! Love them!

Tag Team

Hello everyone! Welcome for stopping over today! I am so glad it is FRIDAY, yahoo! And this little tag is what I worked on. I took kraft cardstock and I used some Tim Holtz crackle paint (straw) on it- let it dry a bit and then finished drying/crackling it with the heat gun (why must I be so impatient?) The stamp set that I chose for this motif is Crafty Secrets French Mail which I got from ABCToysandCrafts. The little flowers are Prima Lauren. I then hand made the little banner............

Ink: Momento Black and Brown

Cards by Heidi CLASS March 2nd, 2011

Hello everyone!

Here is my first card class that I will be teaching at Polly's Paper Studio in Pinckney

Here are the details of the cards we will be making that night! Hope you can join us! Lets start it off with a masculine birthday card, well need these and these can be hard to find/make. So of course I went to my FAV paperline, cosmo cricket! Added a little twine (no ribbon) and a button- and there you go, HE will feel special.

A simple wedding or anniversary card in all white. I love these sillouhette stamps. This card will have a sentiment on it so it will be useful. We will do some masking on this card to!

This is a fun card, very modernish and of course gives that modern little message of "You make me smile! (verve). Add a little hardware, ribbon and of course the roses in blue!

This is a sweet little red and cream (vintage/aged) Jenny Bowlin card. It allows us to use some nestabilities, lace and those scrumptous roses!

Romantic Roses

Hello and Happy Thursday! Today is CropStop's Challenge Day and it is a SKETCH. So I set to work on one last Valentine's card (I know it is after the fact) and I wanted it to be soft and vintagy. This started with Basic Grey Porcelain line and since I love this paper I didn't want to take away from it. The ticket stamp is from the Stampers Anonymous Odds & Ends set and it has several different holiday stamps in it along with some inspirational stamps with a blank ticket.
Next I embossed the pink cardstock with the Sizzix Script Texture folder and layered with lace heart punch and filigree heart. Then of course, added a few little roses, some pearls and some stickles.

I hope you will come and join us over on the SKETCH challenge, there is always prizes and awards too! And remember: you can shop the store and ALWAYS save 10% using this code: CTHS-01

Sending the Blues!

Hello! I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend! It is now Sunday, that means less than 24hr of free time. In the meantime, I thought I would show you a couple cards that I honestly threw together this weekend. This first friendship one I did for the total PaperCraft challenge-simple. It is all K&Co paper that I was using for another project and wanted to use up. The butterfly is one that a friend of mine (thanks Cheryl!) got me for the holidays. Isn't it beautiful?

This card is one that I flipped over the papers and whala- a totally different card. I htink that this one you could, well no I guess not because it has flowers on it, give to a man. LOL! I just love these blues on these prints. So rich.

The middle flower was white and I used my airbrush system and blue copic to spray it.

Ok, off I go to spend time with my family. Talk to you later!

Black Valentine?

Ok, so those who have frequented my blog know that I am always contending with the male testosterone in my home (even the darned cats are male!). Now I am not complaining because, well I am princess/queen or so I like to think and tell them. I do have alot of pink and they know if they want to make me smile- bring me something in PINK, it works like a charm each time. So anyways....... I am always tryng to make that masculine card and then I show DH or Ds and they roll their eyes, "Uh, why did you add that ribbon or that button- men don't want ribbon or buttons on their cards." As you can see here I added a button, there is even some baker's twine (will they even know that? Or will it be ribbon to them?). And yes, I did put those darned hearts on their card, for heaven sakes it is VALENTINE's day!!! But this card is no frilly, the embossing is masculine, the colors of gray and black can't get anymore drab: even the hearts are black! The sentiment is the least non sentimental as I could go without stumping them on what the card was for, right? The cherry cobbler ink looks so dark it almost looks black. So- I am very proud of my masculine, non frilly, Valentine's for the testosterone drivin' family members in my house. What do you think?
PS: ok, so I mailed a V'day package to DS in college, yep- I did it. I put the filagree hearts on the outside of the box..... but they WERE in black and gray. I don't think anyone will notice. Tee hee....

Have a great Friday all!

Hearts and Flowers

Hello and happy hump day! Today's card is one that I challenged myself to make something that I had not done before. And that would be.......... the florette in the middle of the card. I had seen these on a few cards and so I wanted to give them a try. This is actually like 1/2 of one though: so next one will be a full one! The DSP is stampin up and look- the grey again! Luvin' it! I also got the sizzix hearts and am using it to cut fabric, felt, paper- I am making hearts like crazy over here! Oh and the banner- are these the rage or what? And I just made it myself- since I can't get my hands on the nesties banner dies till next month. But figured, it turned out good enough! Oh, off I go! Have a good day!

Time to Move on.......

Well the Super Bowl is over and it is now time for all of us to move on into the rest of 2011. I always laugh because our first month of the year is recovering from the Christmas holidays, packing everything away and then "who is going to play in the superbowl?" and of course, all the party food! And lets be honest, even if we don't watch the game we are there to see the half time show and the new commercials, right? So, tonight we say Congrats to the Packers and be DONE with it. :) While I listened to the game and caught glimses of the commercials I worked on cards. This is one of the Valentine's cards that I made for Simon Says Stamps and the ABC Challenge in which Julie gave us some pictures to use for inspiration. I chose a rose filled heart in pinks. The first thing that I did is take this new little stamp Daisy Bucket designs called loves me and stamped it on white cardstock and inked the edges w/ pink piroquette. I then used my versamark and utee and put about 4 coats on it, stuck it in the freezer for a couple of minutes and then crackled it- putting a bit more red in the cracks. I really love this type of embellishment, even though it takes a little time it is always well worth the work. A close up for you............Then I used the wonderful SU Valentine pack and paired with grey (my new favorite neutral!). Just a nice soft Valentine! I just realized, I forgot to add my stickles to my roses - this is one of my favorite things to do lately, just makes them look more elegant! Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!
Heidi
PS: for those of you that live local- stop into Polly's Paper Studio (by Ed Bock's!). I paid her a visit for the first time and was delighted with her selection of high end scrapbooking items (Webster's Pages, Cosmo Cricket, and beautiful paper roses!). I got this wonderful stamp there too!

It is not a SQUARE!

Hello! Boy what a wintery/blustery day it was here in Michigan. We didn't get as much snow as we had thought but it was cold and blowing snow everywhere, so much you didn't know how much was coming down or just being moved around! Phew...... and well, no school on Thursday either. So for those getting pelted,........... stay warm and safe!

And on to my card. Now this card was made with several different challenges in mind. I had my list out and thought - Valentine card. Again! Remember, this is my first year to actually mail out Valentine's! So I use my lacey nestabilities to make the card base and then my circle nesties to do the top layer. A couple punches (heart/branch/circle) and some flower. I should have taken a close up of the flowers because I put clear glittery stickles on them and they are sooo pretty! I love them and think that I will start putting it on all my flowers. You gotta try it, quick and easy to do too!

Don't forget: if you have not checked out the OWOH event: click HERE to see my give away!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Posey Punch!

Welcome Back! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. This is a little card I put together Sunday evening after my son went back to school. It felt like I had not done any crafting for so long. So I went through my challenges and this is a new one- well new in the last couple weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. It was a cute little sketch but boy- it was a challenge for me! But I do like the outcome. And I added a little metal for the Flourishes Challenge.
